1) You're being off-topic (which, I will admit, occurs all the time of FCF) and
2) Debating about the honest of humanity is accomplishing what, exactly? It's like arguing about religion or about ethnicity, it gets nowhere and nobody's opinions change.
3) and hell, I don't even know what in the name of Ned's Blue Brass Ones you're even talking about.

You can't really lie in the RP. You can withhold information, but not really lie. The problem is that if you lie, then how does the GM know you're lying? If I say a freighter is going to one planet, then have it show up at another, some people will think I'm just screwing around, and that what I say makes no sense. You might be able to pull it off in negotiations, but negotiations are generally just "hey want to stop fighting?" "Yea.". There's very little actual negotiating, just "lets stop". This creates an atmosphere where people feel that fighting can just stop if they ask, which I refuse to participate in.

You haven´t seen a lie on the RP because they´re diguised.
I could give you a quite large number of people who lied about their faction, their foreigh relations or other stuff that seems completely unrelated but isn´t.
I could give you that list, but then I would be an idiot.
So what do you say? "If I say it it´s not a lie because Fenway can´t valididate it!"
What if I told you Fen knows about those lies.
What if I told you I have been lieing for the entirety of this year about the foreign relations of the Eggman Empire (or any varieties of it in any RPs I may have participated in).
What if i told you Fenway approves of those lies and calls the achievements I have made through them "unbelievable", even going so far as to name an entire RP after my lies.
Now tell me, what would that make me if I stopped lieing now?
It wouldn´t make me a honest person, it would make me an idiot.
An idiot who doesn´t know anything about the power of secrecy.
It would also make me one of the worst leaders this RP has ever seen.
If I stopped lieing, some factions WILL declare war on others because of the truth they now know.

Tell me, Iv, would I be able to not lie in the empire RP and still be able to call myself a "somewhat intelligent person"?

I agree with you, lies are usually considered bad, and that´s good that way, but consider that lieing is in SOME cases important.
People lie to be polite.
People lie to prevent others from abusing the truth.
People lie to give themselves strategical advantages.
Only the last one is the kind of lie that´s actually bad.
This is all I have to say and ever will say on the subject of lieing.


Now that I stated my opinion, back to member info.

To argue with you would be to miss the point, I jave gave the empire RP as an example where you are expected to lie, as of yet no one lied, don't say it is impossible to forge an alliance than stub your partner or make an agreement just to violate it or to deceive the enemy feeding him false information - in that RP you can lie in many ways and you didn't do it even there, so what is there to talk about other threads ? I only asked you to recognize that it is not good and noted I respect honesty, that is it.
