This looks fun.

"They're coming back around! Get Prop' 3 running again or the Buxton is lost!"
Jumping onto the port stabilizing fin, Skyler sprints towards the stalled propeller; the massive beasts screeching overhead as they prepare for their dive.
He grabs the severed pinion and tries to yank it free but the prop's blades have it wedged tight! Bracing himself against the blades and arching his back, he pulls harder. The wing comes loose with a jolt and Prop' 3 begins whirling again.
A shadow engulfs him and he snatches his belt-knife free. Glaring upwards, Skyler screams in wordless defiance as the foul monster plunges towards him.
A moment before the thing strikes there is an explosion on the deck and the beast jerks to the side, its tail clipping Skyler and throwing him off balance as it tumbles past. He wavers there on the edge of the fin, and for a moment he thinks he'll recover, but then the Buxton banks to starboard and he is over the side, falling.

Yeah, I think I will delete that actually; after reading it back it was quite a bit worse than I thought when writing it.
