Hey guys, I just made my first ship in a few months! I don't know what to call the race that it belongs to; I just know that they're an aquatic, squid-like race that need their livable areas to be flooded with water so they can breath and move around.

The Rifter is too small to accurately build in Minecraft. I might build a Hurricane eventually, but for billy...I'd say the Machariel. Or he could build the Cane, I'd never finish it

I never see YOU online anymore. To be honest, most of what I'm doing now involves skill training before I move into doing Minnie FW and join a nullsec corp.

Thanks, I fixed it. Though, I think I'm going to overhaul my entire OP again soon to catch it up with my newer builds.

Also, I've been playing around with greebles on a much smaller scale than my dreadnaught!

Still a long way off my obsessive level of greebling, but probably better off for it. Maybe some colour? I don't know what to say to you, I trust your judgement, and trust you won't listen to me anyway.

Greebling is nice but not everything, it is good for some ships and bad for others.

Ok, I'll bight.

I believe that the proper use of greebling is to add depth and realism to your ship's overall design, not as a means to an end. The difference between the way I greeble and the way you do is the difference between the Star Destroyer and the Nostromo.

Both are ships from well-known movies that came out in the late 70s, both are roughly the same size, and both use greebling. But while everyone remembers and can tell from a glance what the Imperial Star Destroyer is, I'd be surprised if very many of you remember the Nostromo.

I'll save you the time of googling it and throw in the ISD for comparison:

The reason is obvious: while the ISD used greebling to underline and bring out it's overall iconic shape, the Nostromo used greebling to define it's shape and ultimately ended up looking shapeless and unmemorable.

Your ships, when you strip away the greebling and look at the underlying shape, don't make sense. I mean sure, they look cool and everything but there's nothing supporting all the bells and whistles to make your ships memorable.
