I did say that it was in need of total reconstruction.
Also, Kgf and kg are used interchangably when in standard gravity.

@tiel: the Feles resent that statement.

The only unit that measures weight is Newtons, weight is a force.

Nathan arrived at Antioch port. The transport began to land on the platform. He went outside of the transport into the terminal hub, waiting for his luggage. Finally when his luggage arrived he took his stuff and went out of the space port. He didn't have much on him. As a soldier he was used to carry as less as possible with himself. All what he needed was carefully packed in a big backpack that he carried on his back and another bag where he brought more things he will need in everyday life. The majority of his belonging was his savings.

Nathan took a cab to his new home. He rent an apartment in one of Antioch's residential areas. The cab arrived at the destination and Nathan went out. It was a small apartment complex, ten floors tall. He entered the building and went up to the third floor. He knocked on the door and a woman opened it up. "So you must be Mr. Anderson ? Come in." "Thank your Ms. Hatchet". Ms. Hatchet was the owner of the apartment. The apartment came with furniture ready. "I hope you will enjoy your stay, give me a call of there is any problem" Ms. Hatchet said and left the apartment. Now he should probably find a work.

"Sir the ansible just went offline, our comms are down"

Theta stopped, the ansible never goes offline, and it can never lose connection.
"Have the engineers checke it?" Theta barks at the officer.

"Yes sir, they say its completely intact, but it has lost connection"

"Tell them to check it again, ansible technology works everywhere, it's a quantum effect, we have proven that"

"Sir, they have checked twice"

"Well order them to check again"

"Yes sir"

The officer salutes and turns, and makes his way out of the bridge, heading towards the engineering bay, barking orders as he goes.

Theta looks back at the screen, they are orbiting near to the systems asteroid belt, in full cloak, they shouldn't be there, but situations on the other end of the galaxy require them to hide there for a bit.

"Sir, are you still able to use the mayday function?" Theta's second in command asks.

"I hope so, if what that officer says is true, we have a huge problem, if we are found here, we will be blown out of the sky by the locals, if we survive, the Alpha will have us executed"

"Do you want me to prepare to carry out the Isis protocol?"

"I am afraid we may have to, if we are captured, we cannot afford for our enemies to gain information on the Archetype project"

OOC: Keon denied, your character is a bit OP and seems out of place. Try something less conspicuous or something.

Yes, you can use mind chips. Maybe they are removable chips that alter your personality and such, but not memories and knowledge.

Kayne clicked impatiently as he observed several ships. Nothing to report. He switched an optical feed to the starport, and observed a large ship landing on one of the docks. He then switched, this time to Tau IV-A. No blockade breaches, no security breaches. He switched again and ran diagnostics on the anomaly blockade, due to a recent power failure. No problems. He switched.

He ran his normal routine, making sure everything was in order. At one point, a distress signal emanated from the asteroid field. He sent a destroyer to save the ship, as they would be able to protect from the asteroid. He then observed other matters. Hydrogen production nominal, no problems.

Are you sure you checked everything, you meticulous bucket of bolts? Whispered that far back, insane part of his mind.

Shut up. He then decided to observe Antioch for a while. After dispatching some police to break up a large fight, he switched again to Tau IV-A. After making sure security was secure, he switched to the laboratory feeds. Nothing here... wait. Lab 83-C was not responding. He traced the problem to the sensors, which were completely nonfunctional. He overrode the safety systems and forced the sensors on. He scanned the room, but he didn't notice anything. Determined, he traced everything the lab was connected to, and associated it with three Dark Matter Crystals. The first was negative. He tested it and found it 99.99893% consistent with all records. He moved to the second one, with mixed effects. 99.99988943% consistent. The last had positive effects, mainly in the areas of rational thinking. The test took a bit longer, but returned as this: 96.78123%. Alarmed, he began constructing 3D models of the every scan of the crystal completed to date. They were all consistent, except for the last one. It was missing a shard. It was too big to be foor a research test, as it violated safety protocols. He began scanning the lab.

He found nothing in the access logs, nor the access allowance. Whoever is responsible covered their tracks. Clever. After he had triple checked everything and was sure that there was nothing else to discover, he sent a message to Arcipel, informing him of the incident, and then alerted the base itself. It can not escape.

"Sir vessel detected in our vicinity" a navigation officer called out from one end of the bridge

"Have they seen us?" Theta demanded

"Scans indicate it is a destroyer, but we heard a distress signal earlier, it's likely responding to that"

"Whose ship is it?" Theta demanded.

The navigation officer punched in a series of commands to the terminal.

"It's from the local government, the occupants are all human, they are armed, but if they were to attack us, we would be able to fend them off"

"Well a confrontation is the last thing we want right now, can they see us?"

"Negative"

The engineering officer entered the bridge

"Sir, we've checked the ansible, it is entirely intact"

"Well why won't it work then?"

"We don't know, but we've been picking up some strange energy readings in this sector, the signals are like no other we've seen, perhaps it could be interfering with the ansible"

"Have you tried a mayday through the ansible?"

"Yes sir, it didn't get through, though we can make local comm links via the ansible"

"What did you send"

"A distress signal, do you want the recording?"

The engineering officer played the recording, suddenly, the navigation officer stood up. "Sir, we have a problem"

"What is it?"

"The distress signal we received earlier, it matches the one that the engineers tried, the destroyer could be responding to our distress signal"

"WHAT" Theta yelled, outraged, "dammit, how, we wouldn't pick up our own signals"

"The signal quality we received is deteriorated, and we received it not long after it was made, it could have been bounced back"

"There is still a chance we've been compromised, all power to cloak systems, kill the engines, we need to disappear NOW"

ACHO accepted. And Keon, the character just seemed a bit ridiculous. And Tiel, I deleted it because it was a bit too early, sorry.

And as of now, ALL applications cannot have military-related roles. We've got enough here. ACHO is the last.

Kayne had no luck finding the shard. He placed high priority on it's discovery, made sure that Arcipel was working on it, and then switched to other matters. He remembered the distress signal from earlier, and decided to check up on the Destroyer. He didn't see anything, and there was no sign of the ship who sent the distress signal. Odd. He got in contact with the captain.

"No, we haven't seen anything," the captain said, "And neither have any of the satellites and bases in the asteroid belt. Pretty strange. In fact, the signal emanated from quite close from a fighter complex. I bet the heavy magnetic activity scrambled some routine signal and turned it into the signal." Kayne retrieved the signal from archives again and analyzed it.

"Captain, the probability of that being the case is only 15%," he replied. "There's something here. Keep searching."

"Roger, Kayne." The captain saluted then signed off.

I'm watching you... I know what you are... You cannot win... said the voice of insanity. Kayne ignored it.

He monitored the Destroyer's progress for a while, when something caught his eye. He swiveled his view to catch it fully. The space was shimmering. Suddenly, a ship seemed to slide out of the space and back into it. Before he could get a lock on it, his optical feed shut off unexpectedly. He clicked impatiently, then analyzed the problem to be a logic fault. He rerouted the feed around it, and then reconnected to the ship. There was nothing there.

Seeing things, eh? Pretty unhealthy, even for you. You're ready for the nuthouse. Wonder if they accept robots?

Shut up! And it was silent.

That was the problem. Merely a glitch in the logic faults. There was no ship. He attempted to analyze the tape again, but it was corrupted. Definitely a logic fault. He continued with his routine.

'Narek sat at his desk, two crystals spinning slowly above a suspensor pad. He tapped the smaller of the two with a penknife, causing it to rotate in the opposite direction. This tiny shard, still with a hint of blood in its crevices, was absolutely priceless, and the only reason 'Narek had it was a mistake. He stared into the crystal, it seemed like it enveloped him. The inky black that swirled inside, disrupted by minuscule antimatter explosions blurred into memories as the energies from the crystal synced with and accelerated 'Narek's neural processes.

The crystal showed details in 'Narek's past experiences as well as thoughts and memories of others that had been exposed. He experienced memories of the scientists that he had been allowed to observe, one recorded an energy spike as 'Narek activated his personal shield, then nothing as 'Narek rendered them unconscious and wiped their memories clean of the last week. 'Narek saw how energy frequencies of his shield harmonized with those emitted by the crystal, caused the shield to fail and the crystal to explode, sending a shard into his arm. He went back farther, remembered being dragged away from his sister and brother-in-law in grim detail, all the faces of the pirates he slaughtered, ships run through with beams of energy. His childhood, birth. His brothers-in-arms speared, hacked, melted, and every other form of terrible death, murdered by the marauders.

'Narek withdrew from the crystal and shook his head, I'm no better than them, no better than a killer and a common thief. He tightened his grip on the knife and drove it into the surface of his desk, then placed his hand beside it. Stretching his newly repaired arm, he cleared his mind of those troubling thoughts and relaxed. He thought back to yesterday, retraced his actions in the crystal theft, remembered the measures he took to cover all loose ends. Selectively removed memories from all that were involved, wiped the video and sensor records, even set a virus in the AI-Admiral's database to prevent it looking into the loss of records, the only casualties being a week of experiences of the researchers and some feeling in 'Narek's right forearm.

He looked at the shard again, this time careful not to open his mind to it. There was something about this specific variety of crystal. It was rare, more so than any other in 'Narek and the fragment's combined knowledge, the only kind that can be broken and still retain it's power, which still remained partially hidden. His gaze turned toward the right, toward the whole crystal. It was darker than the shard, one of the more common types. He wasn't sure of the function of this one, either, only that it had the ability to capture and hold omnipresent darkmatter. Still valuable beyond value. 'Narek stood and took the crystals from the suspensor pad, placed them in uranium-lead containers, then into a hidden wall safe. He sat back down at his desk and removed the knife from the wood, running a finger over the notch.

Kayne was glitching out again, but, it had never glitched out like this before. Everything to be failing on a periodic, even random basis. Entire sensor nets would go down for a time, then reboot with a wave of corrupted and unusable data. His AI couldn't handle the sensor data in this state. In fact, he couldn't do much of anything. His engineers quickly saw he was impaired and temporarily transferred command to the highest level personnel. In the meantime, Kayne and a small army of scientists were sifting through his code to identify the problem. Kayne had been disconnected from the data network in order to not cause any problems.

After booting another time after another flaw was corrected, he noticed no improvement. If anything, more sectors were corrupted and unusable. He could hardly process anything, never mind formulating a plan. He only hoped it could be resolved quickly, as his AI couldn't function in these conditions.

At the same time, a scientist was analyzing one of the sensor data-banks directly connected to the Tau IV-A facility. He noticed an exceptionally large amount of blank data sectors, which is increasingly odd. And the other data was scrambled. This was completely against Kayne's usual efficient data compression. He called an officer over.

"Blank data sectors?" The officer asked.

"Yes, sir. I've never seen one like it." He scrolled over to some of the scrambled data. "This is of a pattern not recorded in our data."

The officer scrutinized the code, and then gasped. "If that is what I think it is..." he didn't finish. At that moment, every lab screen simultaneously went to static. The lights flickered and then settled into a meager light level. The doors slammed shut. "Not good."

Several alarms went off. A camera swiveled and locked onto them. The room began filling with a noxious, thick green smoke.

"Sir?" asked the scientist, choking on the fumes.

"Emergency protocol 85, extermination of sensitive personnel. This is it." And rather than die in the poison slowly filling the room, he took his pistol and shot himself.

Shortly afterward, a passing freighter ship noticed the facility acting odd. The lights were completely screwed up, and it was veering off its established course. It attempted contact. It got nothing, and then connected- for a split second. The captain sighed and figured the military could handle it. The ship left the vicinity, as the facility burnt up in the planet's atmosphere.
