Minecraft just runs out of memory, at least however I installed it. I load a world and I get a black screen then a message says it ran out of memory. I got lazy on install and just downloaded a jar with the mod pre-installed though and put it in my 1.5 minecraft. I don't have any 1.4 folders, send me one? Nobody intercept this, it is for science.

If you run out of memory, it´s not a file problem.
Either do that thing with the .bat that is supposed to give your MC more access to RAM and if it already takes over all your RAM, you need a better computer to play MC.

You do realize this whole thread was him buying a full-on gaming rig, right? And he just got everything settled and installed MC on a computer most of us can only dream of, right?

Anyway, the default JVM memory allocation is I think 1024 MB. Crank that sucker up to 2GB or even 3 and you'll be gold. The only thing extra large memory allocations really affect is how big the garbage collect operation is. It probably won't be an issue but it can cause some intermittent stuttering.

Yeah, I am pretty sure my computer itself is not the problem. I would hope it is good enough to play Minecraft if it can play Arma...

I used CFF explorer and set it in file header to use more than 2 gigs of ram, but, didn't work.

I will try more ways to get it to use more memory.

It still says "not enough memory" with 2GB?
What mods do you have installed?
Do you have anyting running besides Minecraft?
Maybe something is wrong with the world?
Have you tried making a new world?

1. Not sure if it actually let it use that.
2. Just optifine and sonic ether's shaders.
3. Yes, but that shouldn't be a problem.
4. Make new one every time.
5. Yes.

Hmm...
Optifine and ether´s should actually only have influence on the graphic requirements.
You are propably right with it not letting it actually use the memory properly.
Open the .bat that launches MC with editor/word pad and then there is one number in the row of numbers that determines the allocated memory.
There should be instructions on how to change it somewhere.
Manual way is most difficult, but if done right has best chances of succeeding.
