Do you remember when Obi-Wan was in the reactor core of the Death Star? Maybe he had been ordered by Luke to plant some sort of hyper-antimatter explosive!

And seriously, the ENTIRE PLAN would have failed if they had included 2 or 3 ventilation grills. The lack of then indicate that someone stopped it.

That was the tractor beam power center, not the reactor core.

It is known that the first plans for the Death Star were around about the time the Clone Wars began.

Just so we're clear here, Darth Vader was not the principal designer and does not own a construction company. TBH I was willing to believe, up to that point.
