get tank mines before you get C4. It LOOKS easy to take down a tank with C4 but it's really hard. You have to figure out how to get behind or on top of the tank without the enemy infantry noticing you. I believe the first level of C4 costs 100 cert points. If you get the first level, you only get 1 C4. The second level gives you another, but it costs 200 certs. You'll need 2 C4 to take down 1 tank. With tank mines, you get 2 with the first level and a third with the second. An interesting benefit of C4, however, is the fact that if you die, or resupply your C4 stash, your previously placed C4 will stay where it is, meaning you can make a long line of C4 if you have the time and you dont get caught. You can't do that with tank mines though, and infantry spot tank mines and shoot at them much quicker than C4. C4 also doesnt have a very big blast radius. Every once in a while, I'll equip my anti-armor light assault, and spawn at TI Alloy's main spawn room to defend it. The base is SWARMING with enemies and I get a great idea to fly up to the roof and drop C4 down on the enemies heads. I'm always surprised when NOBODY is killed.

C4 is horrible vs infantry, it's blast radius is smaller than that of a grenade. You'd be much better off flying over enemy infantry with frag grenades and a grenade belt as well as an underbarrel grenade launcher, now that's a loadout to dish out pain.
Also, you can't set up a long line of C4, you can only deploy as many as you can carry, meaning if you're certed to be able to carry 2 C4 bricks, you can only have two actively deployed C4 bricks. Placing any additional C4 will cause the previously deployed ones to cease to exist.
Killing vehicles as an LA with double C4 is mostly easy and fun. I would know, I've got a whole 1355 vehicle kills under my Light Assault belt.

Stalk your vehicle targets from the rooftop, wait till it gets a target, the jump down behind it and C4 it in the rear.

Was the "in the rear" thing just expression or is the back of a vehicle it's headshot?

No, but mostly, vehicle turrets are facing forward.

Vehicles take more damage from behind, normal from the sides and less from the front. It's simulated armor.

It'll take 2 C4s to kill a full HP tank from any side so don't go through the extra trouble of getting behind it if it isn't needed, just double C4 it and run.

If it's already damaged though, putting a single brick of C4 in the rear should guarantee a kill and save you 100 infantry resources.

My technical difficulties having been mostly resolved, I will likely be playing in a little while. IGN is TraatAdmiral.

Okay, so we have some players. Now all we need is a faction, I vote TR.

Today I died eighteen times without getting a kill. My overall accuracy is 0.014%. I have abandoned the hope of getting kills and instead am going for seeing the enemy that kills me. So far, I haven't managed that very often.

crouch and aim down sites. you should also try to kill people who don't see you or avoid direct conflict.
