Well, honestly you can´t expect one to make a good model of a starfighter without any inspiration.

Well of course not. Everything we create is built on past experiences, but there's a difference between combing concepts and idea to create something different out of them, and copying nearly all the ideas and concepts of a narrow idea. That, is what we call being unoriginal.

But that starfighters will be based on a plane, which will be based on a glider, which will be based on a bird, which will be based on an earlier bird, which goes back to the future the first cell (which is based on a very elaborate protein chain, and so on), but relative to us, the starfighter is new and original, even if it is based on a lot of things.

Not necessarily, my first ever ship was based off a cool looking sword, (it looked horrible and was wayyy before I found this forum)
There was probably only one original object ever made, and even that would have took inspiration from nature, after that everything else was probably either based on nature or things partly based on the original object, and so on. So unless you believe on a divine creator, in my probably horrible Reasoning, nothing is origional.

Because I had nothing to do, and 5 minutes spare, I decided to put up a first-draft of my ship for download. I have considered putting it on the server so other people can help me, and this will make it nice and easy... Also, if something happens to my computer, I can restart form the back-ups I'll make along the way (starting with this one)

Anyway, it isn't done yet, but there are a lot of things I haven't taken pictures of that you might like to see. Any advice, criticism, or strongly opinionated rants are welcome. Probably...

I especially need help doing the underside. The blue-print I have is a top-down view, I have no idea what I should put underneath (or for much of the sides, either)

Does anybody know what I can do to get more views on this thread? Because it seems to me that when I post something new, I get, like, two replies. Then other people post something of less quality and they get two pages! (Not mentioning any names, many builders deserve their credit). Is it just because I'm so arrogant that I don't need your comments? Or is it because you're all afraid of me? Maybe, you are conspiring against me? No? Good.

If you find a solution let me know, I'm kinda limited to progress pics due to the scale of my project, and the fact that I get advice on each bits which is why anyone would post progress pics.

You don't build that much. Lots of progress pictures, yes, but few completed ships.

I easily have twice as many ships as any other member here. I'll create a list from memory, if you like.
The problem is, if I build big ships, and build them well, it takes a long time to complete anything.

I count nine builds in your OP, and you've been here longer than anyone. That's about a ship every two months, I think. Iv has more than that, as do Laserbilly and several others. You have a lot of ships, but you don't have twice as many, and you build them slowly. That's not supposed to be insulting or offensive, of course. But it's one reason you don't get that many posts.
