Cool. The problem with mods is that, while they may be useful in building, I plan to put the ship on PMC for download. Still, I only decided that's what I was going to do this morning, so thanks anyway!

Re: Wings of The Schmetterling
Here's a quick picture of one of those "really big rail guns". Except for the fact that it's a focused-plasma-beam-gun (Like the lightning-stuff the Destroyer shoots). Oh yeah, I also built the wing. I'm going have a fun time detailing all this....

Does anybody know why MCedit doesn't allow you to use the replace function on slabs? And does it work with Single Player Commands?

I replace slabs all the time with MCedit... They're numbered 44-44:6 and all are labeled "[halfstep]". Don't use the ones labeled "[step]", those are the full block versions.

Re: Wings of The Schmetterling
The wing detail is the boring part, I just built my wings, and I can say the detailing will probably take me a year or so.
Also what flan pack? What fighter? I only know of 2 decent sci-fi fighters, and one of those is mine.

Well, honestly you can´t expect one to make a good model of a starfighter without any inspiration.Dr. Mackeroth wrote:I'd prefer either of them if they were original.

Re: Wings of The Schmetterling
Admittedly it is rather hard to build one off the fly, that's why the AR-12 looks crap, but the A-144, which was partly based upon an existing starfighter (I did make a few changes) ended up looking awesome. However I have drawn up some concepts which could be reproduced in model form, they should be the first decent 100% original models made for flans mod, I already hold first original starfighter (tht i know about, that is publicly available) and first 3D recreation of the MKII A-144 ever, another first would be grand.
Also my new fighter design is partly inspired by this ship.

Manus's dropships are original, aren't they? And given that there are (I think) exactly three other starfighters that exist for Flan's mod, that's not saying much.Prototype wrote:they should be the first decent 100% original models made for flans mod, I already hold first original starfighter (tht i know about, that is publicly available)

Don't bring me down bro, don't bring me down.Last_Jedi_Standing wrote: exactly three other starfighters that exist for Flan's mod, that's not saying much.
Also Manus's dropship is the one from avengers assemble (or at lest heavily based on it, similar to my A-144)
But I think we might be straying off topic here, this discussion belongs in the content pack thread.
Back on topic though, the cannon looks sick, I'm expecting great things from this ship, to the point that when I get round to making the official post on the MC forums for the FC pack, I might use this ship as the backdrop.

Even if it doesn't get much credit on PMC, I still think it's been a wonderful learning experience. I realized a couple of days ago that I was probably better off putting this level of effort in to the Banhammer, rather than this undefined carrier. Also, I am making the switch to SMP2263 texturepack.
