Right. Excellent work, Prototype. I would suggest perhaps adding guns to it. Who's responsible for textures on this project?
And Fr0stbyte, if you get the rendering engine to an acceptable standard, it might be wise to do the model importing system next if you think it would be easier than block-built ships. That way, we non-programmers and semi-programmers can make vehicles to put into the mod and we'll have something to show.
You can't tell from my post, but I am really quite excited that something is finally getting done.

i'm doing textures, but as you can see I haven't got round to that yet, however textures aren't my strong point, so it will likely be released with a rather basic texture, and a message telling users to attempt their own.Dr. Mackeroth wrote:Right. and guns are just going to be small cuboids on the very front of the wing.
although when it comes to model importing for FC, i think block built ships should probably take priority, then add modeled entities later, unless model importing is incredibly simple to implement, in which case do it first.

We will attract the attention of good coders and modelers if we get through this phase. However, the general population of the internet will come too, mostly idiots.

I completely agree with you Prototype.Prototype wrote:Dr. Mackeroth wrote:Right. Excellent work, Prototype. I would suggest perhaps adding guns to it. Who's responsible for textures on this project?

That is a fantastic duck model. I'm not sure we have a high enough polygon budget, though.

I could try and make it less detailed if you want, perhaps just a duck coloured block.fr0stbyte124 wrote:That is a fantastic duck model. I'm not sure we have a high enough polygon budget, though.
News update on the model, I've sorted some guns out wo a few simple blocks, but I don't like them so I am going to try using triangular prisms instead of cuboids, it'll be more annoying to make but will look better.
Also I still cannot work out what system the rotation operates on, does java normally use degrees or radians or something totally weird.

Think he means the number of polygons a model can have, not a money budget.Commander Error wrote:What budget?
