Well, I had known about this program for a couple months too, but I hadn't tried it till last night. It's just so cool! I made a map with it, and everything worked exactly the way I planned it to work!

I thought you said it couldn't work on your laptop...?Laserbilly wrote:Well, I had known about this program for a couple months too, but I hadn't tried it till last night. It's just so cool! I made a map with it, and everything worked exactly the way I planned it to work!
I've used World Painter in the past for some of my builds, such as my giant Dwarven Fortress, or the Reichmer (don't remember how I spelled that) Valley. It uses are limited, you can't make overhangs or custom caves, and it severely messes up any worlds you build on then edit. Although, the view from my villa looks remarkably like something I built with World Painter. I'm in New Zeland, by the way.

you could use voxelsniper for more advanced terraforming, but its smp and its pretty complicated for beginners.Dr. Mackeroth wrote:I thought you said it couldn't work on your laptop...?Laserbilly wrote:Well, I had known about this program for a couple months too, but I hadn't tried it till last night. I prefer MCedit for terraforming. It has practically all the features of Voxel Sniper, but with easy to use graphics and more editing power.blockman42 wrote:you could use voxelsniper for more advanced terraforming, but its smp and its pretty complicated for beginners.Dr. Mackeroth wrote:I thought you said it couldn't work on your laptop...?Laserbilly wrote:Well, I had known about this program for a couple months too, but I hadn't tried it till last night. You underestimate Voxelsniper's powers, but they both have their ups and downs.Dr. Mackeroth wrote:I prefer MCedit for terraforming. Re: Terran Trade Confederation
The Terran Trade Confederation has an announcement:
The Colony of Lalonde has obtained sovereignty and joined the Confederation!
Over the next few weeks the Confederation will be posting a historic walk-through of the colonization of the planet Lalonde.
Here is the photo taken by the survey crew of the future site of the capital upon discovery of the planet.

Yep, I made this map in World Painter. It was incredibly easy because the book I'm basing this off of describes Lalonde as only having one habitable continent, thickly forested, and warmer/more humid than average.Iv121 wrote:You used world painter for this world ? Durringham will rise just Southeast of the blue dot. The map is 3000 m^2.
And yes, the planet looks "Earthish" that's what terra compatible implies. (Though I may not have mentioned that it's terra compatible yet...)
