Hyper pulse technology is being implemented throughout the Collectives planets and on several ship classes.

Improvement of colonies is going well, The Faiw are completely implemented with advanced infrastructure and cultural rewriting is progressing well. On the Oceanic worlds large hydrofarms have been constructed to produce a food paste strain of algaes. The Terran planet will be used for population and housing infrastructure is being built. The lava worlds already have several modular factories and refineries setup to process the mineral rich rock of the planets.

Food estimates for the next quarter show massive stockpile of food from new sources, Egg production is being adjusted to compensate.

Engineers are developing warship designs to incorporate the latest improvements in Psionic, Communication, Engine and computing technology. Automation will be a key component in the ships to reduce crew demand and risk along with stealth systems, sensor range, and damage mitigation.

@Vinyl: How do you know about the NA contact with the ME, they didn't make it public yet AFAIK. Also you're basically flying right into NA territory.

Not really, I'm sure a species that developed with Psionic ability would have some level of equipment that functions with it, Maybe not amplification implants or Psionic AIs but general purpose machinery with psionic interfacing and whatnot.

@Shadow sounds logic. interpret the stuff I have written about Macaian psionic tech in the following way then: they have psionic interfaces and stuff, but are currently trying to make active psionics, such as amplifiers or other stuff.

MR psionic research has managed to produce a psionic output device, capable of sending psionic signals, thus improving efficiency of bridge crew in simulated testing environments with prototypes. While detailed information still has to be displayed via monitors, the system is useful in emergency situations and has shown to reduce crew response times by over 40% in comparison to sirens and warning lights. Once the bugs are properly ironed out and sufficient savety mechanisms are put in place, the new system will be installed in ME ships. The Scavs are now being informed of this development, but they are not expected to be able to utilize that equipment, as they are not psionic.

Haven't been reading much, might even drop out. Anyways, if there happens to be a conflict of plot, doesn't it stand to reason the offending information be retconned?

Transport lines between Earth and Technoma have been completed. Currently, one "space train", a large, long-distance ship for transporting people and wares, will go from each location every other day, which will allow much cheaper transport between the planets. Immigration is assumed to rise, as well as tourism, and the people of Earth will finally get to freely buy TechTron products.

"Sir, we have detected an FTL signature, but it doesn't match any known FTL system." Captain Ricald turned around from his perch on the bridge. The sensor operator was very involved in his console.

"Where is it?" he asked.

"Directly ahead." Ricald turned to his console and brought up the sensor report. There it was, a pulsing blue dot. Headed towards them. No communications. No messages. Just the signature. A rather large one.

"How close are we to the habitable planet?"

"10 million kilometers, sir."

"We're well within any half-decent sensor net's range. Prepare for first contact. Shields up, weapons on standby." A minute passed. Two. The signature grew closer.

"Unknown ship is exiting warp space... now." As he said it, the characteristic flash and distortion of space indicated its arrival. For a second, Ricald had a clear view of the large ship ahead of him. No known ship configuration matched the angular architecture.


The ship shook. Ricald was thrown to the ground as the lights went out, and the emergency lights went on. The consoles scrambled and showed only static before blinking off. He tried to pull himself up and ended up floating away from the floor. "What the hell?" he yelled.

"All systems are disabled. Reactor, engines, comms, gravity. Life support." The bridge engineer sighed. "We're dead in the water."

With the Macaian and NA envoys present, first meaningful communications have been made. The MAcaians have invited a NA delegation on board their envoy , the same repurposed freighter used in the contact with the Scavs.

Concepts for the assault ship have been reviewed and development is beginning.
The psionic feedback units have made great progress and are expected to be rolled out to ME ships within two months.

Whereas a kilometer is a kilometer, no matter how you say it. Superior empires use metric, convert to metric today.

Actually, on that note; while it could be called translation, I feel alien/weird human empires would likely have their own units of measurement. 'Light-year' is based on a Terran year, kilometer is Terran, and even time would be measured differently. For example;

One light-year is the distance light travels in 365 Terrans days. However, Novus (and most other habitable worlds) are in different orbits; this a Novan light-years would be 1.2 Terran LY.

I'm assuming everyone translates into Terran measurements (as the majority of the galaxy (re: Those Bloody Humans) use it), but calling it 'translation' seems lazy, especially pre-first contact.

Strigiforme use Strigiforme measures, which I have kindly translated into human ones. In fact, because Strigiforme ruled Terra was Strigiforme ruled, a lot of infrastructure there is probably still in Strigiforme Standardized Measures.
