Having noticed the initiator of the orbital bombardement moving in on them, the ME scout is broadcasting peace messages and greetings in hopes of avoiding military engagement, as the ship is not equipped for fight. In response to the message of there being a war in the partially charted system, the Fast Response Fleet is being put on alert.

An unmanned vessel with no friendly designation was recently spotted within outer Shihe territory. It was believed that this vessel was of Butik origin and offensive action was immediately taken against it. It was later discovered that the probe bore no evidence of any known origin. Shihe Rann, current military leader of the state, has decided to keep this breach of contact protocol out of the public eye, but has contacted Karesh officials.

House Karesh has launched a program involving thousands of sensors to find, capture, deactivate, and study any other probes within all of the major territories.

A Merek task force intercepted several of the Karesh sensor-laying ships before they were able to enter Merek territory. The network was successfully and secretly been established in Shihe, Karth, Butik, United Mundesh, Karesh, and most Minor House territories. Butik has been informed by Merek of the potential espionage by Karesh and are launching a search-and-destroy program for all sensors within a lightyear of their territory.

Naval conflicts continue to rage between the interstellar nations. A dispute over a mineral-rich, populated planet in the Midsphere has rendered it all but uninhabitable.

Most outer-sphere colonies, particularly the new capitals, are now growing rapidly due to immigration from the overpopulated inner-sphere worlds.

A series of real-space and FTL communication have been detected from galactic east; CSV Apocrypha is enroute, running silently; entering unknown (Batiss) territory will be her first test.

A diplomatic envoy is being scrambled together.

The hull of the first battlecarrier is halfway complete, and installation of interior systems, power generation, and hangars is beginning. / Hawker has fufilled all orders for Harlequins outside the Commonwealth.

Strigiforme military expansion has been completed. The new class of ships, with 35 currently built, is a response to the tactics of the recent war.

Captain Zaryn watched the progress of the Undrylan as it approached the unknown vessel. They had overshot the jump distance, and the distant industrial-age world glistened ahead of them, a pale marble in the sky-field. "Status report," he asked the bridge behind them.

"All systems nominal," replied an officer behind him. "Except sensors."

"Sensors?"

"Yes sir. We're getting considerable interference in readings, more so than usual." The officer inputted a few commands to the console. "It seems to be a system-wide incident. All other ships in the sector have reported similar issues."

"Be careful, I don't want any incidents." The ship continued to track towards the vessel.


[Meta]Fusion Splicing research is progressing quickly. The Fusion Coil Splicer (FCS) is nearly ready for full-scale production, though issues with heat dissipation and laser de-coherence plague all prototypes. Research expects to solve this very soon.

Meanwhile, the Fusion Splicer Reactor (FCR) is progressing as well. None of the design issues inherent in the FCS are present within the FCR, meaning miniaturization and deployment of the FCR is very close. The initial power surge upon activation has been solved unexpectedly; Yttrium, strangely, appears to be able to take the energy load without melting, and capacitors can store the excess power until it is utilized.[/Meta]

The discovery of technological societies in the newly-scouted system has been relayed to the Scavs as part of their agreement, along with data on various other systems.
A few other of the initial ME colonies have become self-sustaining. More ships are being produced to form defensive fleets for these colonies. Also, due to the larger size of the Scavs and possibly other spacefaring species, the ME is starting to construct infantry robots twice the size of the average Macaian to allow for use of infantry weaponry more equal to what is expected of foreign species. Accompanying weapons for these humanoid robots are also being developed.
Psionic research has now managed to fully recreate the mechanics of biological psionics, producing psionic energy. The next step will be to control and apply this energy. This research is being held secret from the Scavs.

Due to the increased demand a full fledged military force has been proposed to replace the policing fleets currently in use for defence. Engineers are looking into warship designs.

A small production contract for basic military ships and fighters is being offered to the [General human cluster of factions] for /meta science!

Local planets are being mapped more thoroughly to select the next batch of colonizable planets.

Research has begun on improving 3D printing technology, to make it cheaper, more efficient, and more advanced, hopefully to the point that one day in the future buildings could be constructed with the use of massive 3D printing spaceships. This, however, is a stretch goal, and for now the research will focus on general factory mass production.

A decent amount of research has also been put into improving agriculture, to possibly sustain whole cities with just one or two agricultural towers.

OOC: By the way, since this is the 2190s, I suppose spaceships look pretty much like that design proposition for that NASA warp drive spaceship?
Y'know rings to create warp bubbles, the ship itself within the rings...

Jump Drives are fully contained within the ship (and are wrapped around the reactor). But NR hasn't released the Jump Drive yet, because it's a tactical advantage they definitely want to keep, especially since their military is so weak.

Alarms went off in the bridge of the Undrylan. "Missile lock," yelled the sensor operator behind him. "Three missiles incoming bearing 280, impact in 15 seconds!"

"Taking evasive action!" cried the pilot behind him. The Undrylan was a cruiser but very light and maneuverable. Zaryn braced against the console in front of him as the ship accelerated upwards and forwards. The lack of explosions 15 seconds later told him that they avoided the missiles.

"Second salvo, bearing 280. Trajectory confirmed to be from the unknown ship! 15 seconds."

"Do we have a visual reading on the missiles?" Zaryn yelled back.

"No sir. It could be interference." The ship accelerated again. No detonations.

"Reset the sensor system and get us out of here! I'm not risking a diplomatic incident." The ship rumbled as the engines started in full swing, and the Undrylan sped away from the scout.

It was soon joined by two other warships and a science ship.
