Canada makes tons of food already, we could amp that up. The States has an ungodly industrial base and decent fuel supplies...hm.

Pretty much, A unified food company with good regulations and requirements could easily increase food and profit output and they could implement the latest agricultural technologies.

Lesser crime = forced light labour & rehab.

Sitting in a prison doesn't do anything, so they get to reintegrate into sociey as useful people.
