Don't tell anybody, but to this day I have a faint hope for Futurecraft, or something similar to it, to happen. Within my lifetime.

Is that good enough ? All done silently BTW, in our MIIINDS O.o, if they hear a squeak we run all the way back and start over again (or some other sort of creative punishment).
I heard they had a little fun with that stuff with the Sergant Major of the Company, he’s sort of the company’s logistics man who takes care of the integrity of the camp, (Who was BTW demobilizing after we're done so good luck to him) all that while I was stuck on a tower. By heard I mean literally, though I have no idea what they shouted beforehand but the ending "DORES DORES DOOREEEES !!!!!!" (our company name) could be heard all the way at the tower, just to clarify the Northern tower lies around 750m away from our company's tents, we had to remember those numbers BTW ! The perimeter, the distance to the closest towers and patrols, the distance to the closest settlements and where the local roads lead to.
Also when I looked up all those unit names in English it figures your platoons and companies are knida small considering the room you have to grow , max sized platoon is twice as small as our was (61 ppl vs 30) and 1 company here incldues 3 of those.

Considering how the US spends a ridiculously massive amount of money on its military, I can assume the general idea is "smarter not zerger"

Re: FREEEEEEDOOOOOM !
Was this some remote permanent training camp, or did you go there and set it up?

Nop mate it would be too much to set up (and its not that remote either, just isolated). This place is one of the biggest recruit camps, there were 9 companies of recruits with us in there as well as the actual staff of the base. Apart from the tents and guard towers we already talked about we also have a canteen there, a kitchen, a storage hall where they store the uniforms we got as well as the helmets and flasks (Apart from the uniform I got which is "ceremonial" [read: Washed] we also get a supply of everyday uniform [read: same uniform just not washed for ages] which is significantly dirtier than ours and in general you are not afraid to make it even dirtier). There are also storage rooms for each company individually where they store the matrasses that go on the beds, the sleeping bags, the ammo vests and different training equipment.ACH0225 wrote:Was this some remote permanent training camp, or did you go there and set it up?
Next up each company got a toilet and two shower rooms as well as a classroom where the theoretical lessons are held. Our company also got a separate canteen of its own because this place usually trains the little religious ppl that ever get to the IDF, their demands for Kashrut are far beyond what the base canteen can offer and just to clarify the whole kitchen there is divided in two - a blue area and a red one correspondent to milk and meat, everything is dual there from the plates to the washing stands.
Next up is the guarded facilities: The new bunker which is basically an ammo stash, the situation room and the quick response room, in the first there is a soldier (usually an officer) on the radio who is responsible for the base response to attacks. While on the guard tower you report to the situe room every hour as well as upon anything abnormal or when a new shift starts. Near it is the quick response room where you got soldiers in full equipment 24/7, ready to respond to any immediate threats. They sit, eat and sleep clad in full equipment which in normal conditions will quite suck but likely that room's got everything they need including AIR CONDITIONING. There is also the armory where all the weapons we got are kept as well as all the staff's weapons. In general the weapons in this base don't leave the perimeter so when we (or the staff) go home we must return the weapons to the armory.
Other stuff I forgot to mention is the staff's quarters where our commanders live, the command office where the base commander sits, normal clinic, dental clinic, a big hall where they do diff random events, a giant plaza where they prob do diff even bigger events that usually include awkward marching as the white lines on the ground suggest, the holiest of the holy halls - the shop where you buy all the possible food supplies you'll need so that you don't go insane and ofc - the shooting range, think that’s all of it. As you can see there are a lot of facilities involved with maintaining the likes of us ...

Did you dig your own latrines? You should probably dig your own. Develop a keen understanding with your innards, it's important.
