They changed the Mk1 cockpit. The actual cockpit part looks like a matte plastic wedge, the heat shields are gone (also gone on the new spaceplane parts), and the more severe aesthetic of the C7 cockpit looked better in general. Also, the Mk2 cockpit - which actually deserved to be changed - is exactly the same as it was before.

So I got .25 and I'm probably going to mod it a bit then do a sandbox game; currently titled Munar Madness (on the Mun).

So... does anyone want a kerbal named after them there?

The initial flight and base crew will be;

Director Jeb Kerman (Temp. Mission C.O.)
Commander Lengas Kerman (Temp. Operations C.O.)
Commander Aldner "Hell Razor" Kerman (Pilot, KAF)
Captain Thompbles "Burner" Kerman (Co-pilot, KAF)

And we still need a permanent Base and Mission C.O., two Ops C.O.s, two geologists, one astrophysicsist, and one mechanic and engineer. So, submit names + a courage/stupidity ratio: be aware that all FC-Kerbs will have badS=true.

The Plan:

The main base area will have two hab modules (totalling 16 max Kerbs, normally 5 or 6), a small mechanic's shed and storage area, a comms array, and two Power Towers (power generation systems, with lights to guide landings).

There will eventually be a SCIENCE base, two rovers, and a refuelling system (other than the KAS pipes). Hopefully a modified NASSTK (NERVA-assisted Single Stage to Kerbin) emergency evacuation ship can be hauled up there.

More fun stuff; plans eventually call for a small military force (re: BD Armoury) at the base, with two orbital Interceptors and a dropship; if you want to be a Kerbal Marine or Kerbin Orbital Defense Force soldier/pilot, say so.

I have future plans for corporate/notional modules; a Hexalani Manufactory Module, perhaps, or a Mobian Radiological Research Lab; you lot can contribute whatever when that comes up.

Alder, Thompbles, and Markus are all astrophysicsists (not as l33t as Shadowcat Kerman, perhaps), but given their status as interplanetary pilots, they're hardly derps.

Cmdr. Aldner "Hell Razor" Kerman;

A former Kerbin Air Force pilot who switched to the Space Program at its inception, the fearless Hell Razor is well-known for shaving grass off the ground at high speed. Originally a dive-bomber pilot, and a damn good one, he switched to interceptors, then VTOL fighter-bombers, before entering the KSP with the KAF rank of Lieutenant.

Promoted rapidly to Commander, he flew the first Laythian mission, and its accompanying aircraft, before returning to Kerbin to test dropships, making the occasional run to Minmus. 6 years in the Space Program; confident and humorous, but not arrogant.

Capt. Thompbles "Burner" Kerman;

The ex-KAF pilot has a heavier dose of professionalism and patience than his superior; Thompbles formerly flew ground-attack craft before ending up under Aldner's wing (as it were) in the VTOL squadron.

Now a space pilot, he has flown the only two missions to Eve, one to Duna, and has made more Kerbin-Mun-Kerbin runs than anyone buy Jeb himself. Assigned to fly the dropship for the mission, his calm demanour has prevented the pants-wetting terror so common in scientists.

C.F.O. Nelemy Kerman;

A civilian test pilot with Kerbodyne, Nelemy joined the Space Program a year ago, and was the first one to fly the Raptor Heavy SSTO into orbit. Since, he has flown a number of lander test designs, and is currently assigned to the Munbase as drone operator and shuttle pilot.

S.F.O. Markus "Jumper" Kerman;

Described as a younger Aldner, Markus first gained his "fearless and cocky" label after making a suborbital hop in his interceptor, to nab a drone that escaped him. The former KAF pilot is also a notably capable physicsist and mathematician, and has been assigned to the base as secondary dropship pilot, and avionics systems technician..

S.M.E. Kelly Kerman;

The Munbase's wrench wench, Kelly is a capable machinist and engineer, having been a part of both the rocket and spaceplane programs at KSC. Originally assigned to design the base modules, she signed up for the trip to the Mun to "see how my work performed in the field". The base's main general technician, and fuel systems technician.

And here I present, the Tsien in its temporary LKO. The Tsien is a transport vessel, capable of ferrying landers, kerbals, etc around the Kerbol System. And it does its job well with a 4-year lifespan and 9.6 km/s deltaV.

It's first job was to go to deliver a lander to the Mun for testing. Needless to say, the test was successful, with the lander being able to make a complete landing with fuel to spare. Tsien will be making a return trip to Kerbin to load up on more landers in order to establish a full base, and after that will it will spend the next 4 ingame years doing various oddjobs.

Tsien was built in .24.2 using just about every one of the Nearfuture packs. Tsien was actually the fourth ship I've made, preceded by the Leonov, Discovery, and Uncovery, and will be followed by the Galaxy and Universe. All 5 (the Uncovery class was made obsolete by Discovery) will be tasked with the same whatever-I-need-doing sort of thing, however, I'm more than open to mission suggestions, especially considering I don't have much that I need doing.

Jool and Laythe could certainly be interesting for a VASIMR-powered ship.
