You severely underestimate the power of a T/S tipped high explosive warhead hurtling towards you at near lightspeed via a wormhole that drops it almost on top of you.

Unless your shields are so big and your ships so small that that'd be remotely possible, that's not a possibility. I've found it rather difficult to do anything to anything that is hitting you before it even has time to show up on most DRADISes.

Studies reveal that the use of the MDE {Micro DImension Eater] technology against alien ships of the Colonial War was a decisive point. This costly kind of technology for warheads is being studied and researched to be a little more cheaper.

Darkstar Hadron Cannon technology is being phased-out. Not completely,but to give space to a more advanced and updated version. While mantaining the basic extructure,new kinds of technologies will be put in this new cannon.

Two ship projects are done. The first one is called Ballista-class Frigate and the other is the MHP- "Buddy" .

Weaponry : 12 -450mm railcannons at each side for broadside combat,GARDIAN defense system [ultra violet - better stopping power and more range than infrared], 4x foward mounted "Lancet" beam cannons , 1x MDE-Anima Cannon [Evolution of the Hadron Cannon. The properties are almost the same - made to disrupt shields and anihilate hulls ,but now is more compact,powerful and precise.]

The Ballista is the sucessor of the Firestorm-artillery frigate. While the design was heavily influenced by the Firestorm,it is a brand new project,including upgrades and new systems that simple refits could not include in the original. Upgrades include better energy generators [Fold-Quartz] and optimized powerplant to fuel the Anima Cannon. E-War FIREPACK suites to mantain a certain level of Cyber-Warfare capacity,as well as to better analyze sensor data and firing solutions,making it possible to fire effectively at great distances. The powerful engines make it capable of changing positions very fast. This is good to change targets and to adapt to the usual Blitzkrieg tactics employed by Darkstar military.

THe Buddy is a modular system. Simple and effective in the design,its made to be cheap and useful in troop transport [6 plus the pilot], light bomber,escape pod and colonial hauler [ground to orbit] .
