OOC: Yes, of course, genius move to exclude the guy who's currently keeping the bulk invasion from making any headway from a meeting about fighting off future invasions.

Hexaguth is of suspicious and only an associate, Your level of trust isn't high enough to deal with shared techs and joint-projects not to mention you do kind've show a rather serious imperialist aura with your history and current actions and imperialists + superships don't really go well together.Vinyl wrote:OOC: Yes, of course, genius move to exclude the guy who's currently keeping the bulk invasion from making any headway from a meeting about fighting off future invasions.
Not to mention your continued headbutting with the strig means making you a full member would be a very stupid thing to do for the continued peace with the birds and the stability of UGC code.

Strigi are greater threat than Empire.Shadowcat wrote:Hexaguth is of suspicious and only an associate, Your level of trust isn't high enough to deal with shared techs and joint-projects not to mention you do kind've show a rather serious imperialist aura with your history and current actions and imperialists + superships don't really go well together.Vinyl wrote:OOC: Yes, of course, genius move to exclude the guy who's currently keeping the bulk invasion from making any headway from a meeting about fighting off future invasions.

Look at Strigi, they have many big gun and many ship. Look at Empire, they have few small gun and few ship.
Look at Strigi, they declared war on Hexalan when Hexalan was proved innocent and then demanded Hexalan give them systems.
Look at Empire, they have made no hostile action against Strigi that was not in the name of galactic defense.
Look at Strigi, they are of on verge of declaring war on Commonwealth for trying to fight a threat to everyone.
Empire is of best. Invest in Empire. Empire will prevail. Strigi of too dumb, will fall.

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
Doesn't matter who started it, Fact is the bloated remnants of the GSA still get stomped whenever the strig go on a tantrum whereas the UGC is on a fairly stable political position with the strig, The MR joining probably stretched that relation but since all the pone known to the strig were gone they probably didn't care as much. Plus with that "innocence" you look even worse, If Hexalan managed to lose an entire armada of ships why the hell would anyone trust them with technology?Vinyl wrote:Strigi are greater threat than Empire.Shadowcat wrote:Hexaguth is of suspicious and only an associate, Your level of trust isn't high enough to deal with shared techs and joint-projects not to mention you do kind've show a rather serious imperialist aura with your history and current actions and imperialists + superships don't really go well together.Vinyl wrote:OOC: Yes, of course, genius move to exclude the guy who's currently keeping the bulk invasion from making any headway from a meeting about fighting off future invasions.

Point is, In the current situation your more of a liability then a benefit and it's not like you won't fight the ARK-boss if we let you join or not.

That armada was made of outdated ships that were not worth recycling, current casualties are due to simply not enough modern ships, which, if you haven't noticed, is already in the process of being rectified.Shadowcat wrote:If Hexalan managed to lose an entire armada of ships why the hell would anyone trust them with technology?
And, if worst comes to worst, we can make superships on our own. It just makes you less of a potential target if you help build them.

Officially, Hexalan started the war and is completely at fault. They even admitted it in that one sided peace agreement.

Do not vote Soviet Owl. Vote Socialist Human.
You know, it's kind of your fault I had less military to work with when the ARK threat arose, considering that every naval engagement ended with a Strigi victory, and that I was only holding my planets because of ground support. I had to agree to your bullshit so you'd back out so I wouldn't die.

There's an old saying that applies here. "The victor writes history"

Strigiforme cannot into trusted. AUF can into trusted. Only idiot heretics like Tajer believe Strigi.Shadowcat wrote:There's an old saying that applies here. "The victor writes history"
And even if you believe Strigi, there is no provable evidence, so you can nevor be shore.

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
OOC: The Titan kinda got cancelled, I still have a dreadnaught-sized mobile command center that was supposed to be used as its core, but for now it's kinda not a thing. Also, Shadowcat, you're acting as if the ARK issue was over, but D-ARK is still running amok in Strigiforme space and Draco is still under heavy ARK-attack. Except, well...
BIC:
The bombardement of the remaining ARKs by Mobian Superweapons has led to the defeat of all known Draco ARKs. (6 ARKs destroyed by the Gaia Planet-buster, with two more shots available for fireing, the other 2 heavily demaged by Eclipse Cannon shots, which makes them fairly easy to destroy with normal ships. They are also unlikely to manage a subspace jump without breaking, I assume.)
The MR fleet at Draco which had defended the relay and gate is now moving in on the demaged ARKs to take them out with T/S warheads.
[meta]Scientists in the MR have begun development of a new, slightly modified breed of Chaos Emerald bomb which would scatter the psionic fallout over a much larger area.[/meta]

[meta]The miniARK, not quite to Primaris yet, was ordered to belay hiding and shoot the gate, as that had not been quite thought of before. If the gate is unaffected, it'll continue on its course to Primaris. If the gate is affected, and was not destroyed by the first volley, it'll keep firing until it is dead. Or at least inactive. If it isn't obliterated entirely, a salvage crew will be immediately dispatched.[/meta]
The 2 fleets have arrived at the site and have already gotten a few kills in.

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
The Sword of Damocles has ceased fire on D-ARK, given the lack of effect and troubles with the Strigiforme. The Nova Cannon has also ceased; both have been moved to Andromeda again.
(Meta) While researching new weaponry, Novan scientists have comr across a new shielding theory; cyclonic quantum barriers. While nearly as stright-up powerful as a super-shield, CQBs would suffer from a ludicrously high power drain. A prototype is underway and a destroyer, Repulse, is being fitted with an extra power system to test it.(/meta)
OOC, a cyclonic quantum barrier would work in a manner similar to a super-shield (stops everything), but given the lack of Yttrium generation, it would draw a frankly mind-blowing amount of power; 1.2x the ship's total draw without it. So in other words, you need a second full-size power source to run the thing.

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
Sounds like we've both got superthings that need almost exactly twice the normal ship power generation, and because it's a power problem, could be solved with Yttrium-powered generators. If we discover that Yttrium is a better power source, mind going on a joint raid?L-ADM Error wrote:OOC, a cyclonic quantum barrier would work in a manner similar to a super-shield (stops everything), but given the lack of Yttrium generation, it would draw a frankly mind-blowing amount of power; 1.2x the ship's total draw without it. Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
Possibru. And a quantum barrier isn't perfect (can be brought down), it certainly stands up to more than a normal shield.
Although there's no guaruntee Yttrrium would be cheaper to acquire. But sure.
Also, inb4 Fen and Ach, remember that while Fen is modfaction, Novus also researches ubertech due to (lack of) size otherwise balance gets royally fucked. Just saying.)

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
Supershield isn't perfect either. I mean, just look at what a miniARK (of which I've managed to build TWO of) can do.
