So...
Russia is probably invading Ukraine which may get NATO to respond militarily.
ISIS knows how to build biological weapons from scratch. http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2 ... _exclusive
and ISIS is forcing Syrian pilots to teach militants how to fly.
You know... I laughed when I heard ISIS's goals but damn. This isn't Al-Qaeda we're dealing with here anymore.
So... Discuss. Is Western Civilization doomed?

Is the Western Civilization doomed? Perhaps.
Is it because of this? Probably not.
But just in case, let's make that plan of a real-life Vault-Tec true.
Who want to be TechTron Industries' first executive officers?

Re: dat world war 3 tho
No , half of what you said (namely the ISIS stuff) is almost fully BS. You know you are clearly overestimating ISIS and its potential, for now its yet another terrorist group, it wont be flying fighter jets at you and even if it will its actually better for you if they do, the closer they are to a real military the easier it is to deal with them. As for the biological weapons its not true they can make em out of scratch, however the DO can take control of what remains of the Syrian chemical weapons supply. Did you know actually the Al-Qaeda is much more advanced compared to that ISIS and that in fact our good neighbors the Hamas with which we fight for the last 14 years or so are more powerful than some European countries right now ? Figures we are not the only ones who gain experience out of all of that, they're not sitting on the spot either, currently a Hamas spec-ops unit can easily put to shame some of those of the random European countries such as Poland or the Scandinavian countries or perhaps even the European powers such as France or Germany. When it comes to infantry experience is everything, if we get a war every 2 years nowadays they naturally get one every 2 years too. Hizballah on the Northern border got much better equipment thanks to Iran equipping it however they have much less trained manpower.
Basically that is also why ISIS is not as much of a threat right now, it lacks experience, terrorists rely on infantry and guerrilla tactics as their main forces and those require experienced troops, the success they had against the Iraqi troops is worth noting however it is not an achievement that should put you to fear, it doesn't mean you should not fight it though. Eventually they all grow to the same state as the big terrorist factions out there, by the time they reach that spot they are dug-in and experienced which makes it all that harder to fight them. Currently though Iran is a much bigger threat to you even though you all collectively forgot it develops a Nuclear weapon under your noses ...
As for the rest well ... time to learn Russian suckas ! (Interesting fact for you slang lovers is that sucka means a * (with all the meanings being identical) in Russian).

Iv, I think you underestimate Poland's special operations forces. Hamas, while being a dangerous organization, is fairly limited in scope and resources. Hezbollah is too. These groups have decent enough infantry forces, but those will do fuck all against a modern, government supplied group. Al-Queda got where it was because Osama was the son of a Saudi construction company CEO(or was it oil?), and had millions of pounds at his disposal. ISIS presents the same threat that the Taliban did, by being a real military, in that they will take over parts of Iraq and Syria to make a fundamentalist Sunni state, which would be bad because Iran. Either way, Russia is a bigger threat to global order; they have a massive, modern military and a lot of pent up nationalism.

You know, if the Western governments and Europe would do something, ISIS would get thoroughly stomped. But instead of blitzing them, UN, NATO, etc. are sitting on their collective asses.

Re: dat world war 3 tho
@ ACH Fact is those so called "small" organizations hold up pretty well against tanks, trained infantry, planes, inside agents, in fact they are in general appear to be a race of genetically modified cyborgs
. Take the Hamas General Muhammad Def for example, that dude survived too many direct hits by missiles, last war they attempted to kill him again, to that point he already lost a hand, a leg, an eye and in fact pretty much every dual organ he had, they say he survived the latest bomb as well, Im both curious and terrified to know what remained of him this time ...
On a more serious note though there is not much in terms of founds you can pour into infantry right now, in fact give a soldier an AK-47 and he can put up a fight against any person armed with any kind of assault rifle, with any kind of vest and other sorts of gudgets, those give you only a small edge over your opponent. The experience and training of a soldier is what really matters, give a simple civilian an AK-47 and he is likely to end up killing himself , give it to a trained operative and he can possibly take on 5 times as many soldiers. Actual combat experience is invaluable for that, also they are quite well founded you know thx to the same European countries as well as Qatar that both pour billions into Gaza, the Europeans BTW quite naively believe the money goes for repairing Gaza after the war plus the uplifting of the economy (In general the Palestinian economy both in Gaza and the Western bank are built Solely on donations but that's a topic for another day).
In the same Poland on the other hand you see the opposite picture - The troops mostly spend their time on self-maintenance and only a small portion of the time is spent on training, in general most parts of the army are underfunded as frankly Poland got better things to do than pouring money into an army it doesn't currently need (its not that bad BTW, you have no idea how much of the budget our ministry of defense eats up, wars are costly stuff) . The situation might change though considering the communist bear to the east is waking up from its hibernation...

ISIS is a pile of marginally-trained militants. Any reasonably-equipped and trained military would take them apart easily. Isreal would shred them; India would curbstomp them; any of the Euro-nations would lolpwn them. Seriously, they're only a threat because they're hitting countries that are just barely worthy of the title.
