"Commander, new contacts. Orion Imperium."
The fleet Commander smiled slowly. "Relay targeting data to them. Ask - politely, mind you - they assist us."
"Aye, sir. Mercenary and independent fleets formed up behind us. Ready to traverse the gate. The Hexalani are providing fire support."
"Signal to the expeditionary fleets; all clear to traverse the gate. Weapons, prepare Nova cannon and standby targeting orders."

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
A large number of sensor nets were tripped by the massive ARK fleet, Alerting the Navy to the incoming invasion.
The resident Draco fleets warped in to cover the nearest colonized planets and stall for time. On all planets within danger orbital defenses powered up, mine fields were activated and a large number of civilian craft were leaving to evacuate to safer areas.
--Broadcast to UGC--
Estimated invasion force of 9,000+ hostiles detected in Draco colonies, Send help immediately.

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
Of course, there would be someone, who would have a doubt. It wasn't hard to show any emotional reaction to the response of the diplomat. "Those are good questions," Suul said, calmly "at first let me answer your last question. My crew and my ship are abacterial, but we have this." Suul pointed behind himself, where a hologram appeared. It showed a picture of the molecular composition of the bacteria, as well as a genetic code."I hope you have computers, which are able to run simulations of what happens under which circumstances. We also have footage of the typical course of the disease, which was provided by a scientist on an infected world. Oh, and we have this list of things we have tried to stop the disease." A list of more than 213 entries appeared on the hologram. "Those are the results of the past 25 years. And believe me, we have very good scientists too, I think, that this is a harder nut to crack, than anything you have seen before. And there's this." Suul had hoped he didn't have to say this, but he had no other choice. On the hologram a picture showed up, which showed a genetic code. It was pretty simple, like a normal bacteria. "This is the genetic code of the Necrophore, 25 years ago. And this," the same genetic as the one earlier appeared,"is the genetic code of the Necrophore today." Suul made a pause. "It evolved!" said somebody in the audience. "That's correct, it is very adaptable. We had some cures which enabled us to slow the disease down. Sometimes it even stopped for a short time. But it evolved and came back." He made another pause. "I hope you understand now, why we are here. The evolution of the disease is very rapid, we even think it might be controlled by someone. We hope, that we can find somebody here, who is able to find a cure and then mass produce it, so that we finally have something to destroy the disease with." Suul closed the hologram and waited for other questions.
Suddenly, Julo.
"This DOES NOT help!"
"This DOES NOT help!"
Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
The patrol boats have discovered a system which is inhabited solely by pre-bronze age humanoid insects. A quarantine has been established in a 1ly radius of the barycenter of the binary star system. Fighters are posted in a patrol formation around the system. This system has been designated S.01. Jade has designed a surface scanning boat with a surface accuracy from geostationary((What is the prefix for generic planets?)) orbit of about 10 cm.

Solar geostationary orbit is geostationary orbit no matter what rock your floating around. An I believe the appropriate term you are looking for is Terran.

Disaster, the galaxy was right in the middle of a large scale incursion by other ARK forces.
This looked like the invasion the NSCD had been preparing for since their creation, and they had been caught with their metaphorical pants down.
If Omega could get all systems online fast, they might stand a chance, in their current state they could fend off a direct attack, but fighting a war in another part of the galaxy would prove extremely difficult. They didn't know the exact locations of the enemy ARK stations, so they'd have to send a fleet out. Once they could get a lock on the enemy they could deploy the Devil system, which could cripple or even flat out destroy an ARK with a successful hit. If that failed... Omega might have to rely on the mysterious Ragnarok system. Not even he knew how it worked.
However there was another concern, if Omega knew anything about the other occupants of the Galaxy, they would be fighting tooth and nail against the ARKs, he was gambling that at least one of them would recognise them. If not, they'd just get caught up in the crossfire.

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
One of the frigates of the Phantom Fleet slipped quietly out of hyperspace near ARK-1.
"Sensors."
"ARK Station. Standard design. One ship detected, apparently on perimeter duty. Power signatures typical of an active ARK."
"Hostile?"
"Not yet."
"Hold position and keep watching."

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
Upon further review, Terran does work, as it is not exclusive to humans, it simply means Earth or of Earth. A standard planet that has some ocean(s), some continents, and maybe some life is considered Earth-like, which is usually (one) reason why Earth-like planets are usually called Terran-type.Vinyl wrote:I assume he meant Terran as terrestrial.Solar112 wrote:Humanoid. Several planetary scans have confirmed that the planet is mostly desert, with few oasises spread throughout the surface.

Re: Where we Left Off[RP SUPER-THREADNOUGHT]
Jahgrin signaled to the fleet, and they plunged through the portal.
The journey was extremely brief, which was surprising; the ARK invasion was supposedly from the Draco cluster. But when they emerged on the other side, he saw why.
This was not a simple Draco invasion; he was wrong. The Draco ARK stations were indeed too primitive to put up this much of a fight. This was the central station, the main man. The man behind the man.
D-ARK. The absolutely massive station loomed ahead of them, silhouetted against Andromeda. He estimated it's size to be the size of an entire star. But it was still dark. Which meant it wasn't active.
He realized why. Sensors picked up approximately 3 regular ARK stations parked around the perimeter. Each was supplying the gate and D-ARK simultaneously. And they were launching ships. Jahgrin switched on the fleet communicator as the rest of the ships arrived.
"Gentlemen, welcome to the mythical D-ARK. God help us all if they bring it online."

"You'll need more than one god." came the reply. "You're the expert here; designate targets. Be advised, the Trafalgar's Nova Cannon is on standby if you need a really big explosion."
