Greetings from NGC 1300,

It seems our AUF friends have discovered the Portcullises, and I believe it to be prudent to inform you.

The Portcullises were constructed by the ARK system during Virus X. If you were as careful as we were, all data referring to Virus X was expunged to prevent any further catastrophe. Technically, the events never happened. No records, no evidence, nothing remains of this particularly dark period of history.

Virus X is locked away by five Portcullises, each linked via a jump-gate. Normally, they are so well-hidden that nobody could possibly find them, and the Portcullises themselves are effectively invincible and immortal; self repairing, held together at the smallest level by the strongest forces. But if the AUF found them, then one of the gates failed. Partially. If it fully failed, the AUF wouldn't be here anymore.

The AUF managed to seal the Portcullis again, but I worry about what exactly caused the Portcullis to fail? The Portcullis normally operates flawlessly and automatically corrects any errors through an extremely sophisticated analog computation engine. But in this case, the power beam to the singularity the gate inhabits failed. But why? The beam is just that; a beam. It relies on quantum effects to deliver the excessive amounts of energy required to run the gate. And it is maintained by the analog computer as well.

Whatever caused the failure is likely still around. Find it, and eliminate it.

Your successor to Antioch isn't as forthcoming as you. While we are now dedicating resorces - as are a few friends - to finding and sealing the 5th Portcullis, going into AUF, Strigiforme, or MDIZ zones would start a war. Our associates are having slightly better luck there, but not by much.

Given the lack of data, the CSN and CNI have requested a breif overview of Virus-X and possible locations, and solutions for sealing, the remaining Portcullis.

Be aware, CSV Distant Memory is enroute to NGC 1300 with our amalgamated knowledge of Stauros Radiation and its possible uses against the ARKs.

Social Structure: The Mehandor are split up in tribes. They used to roam their home planet, until they found technology, which enabled them to flee from their slowly dying world. This meant that for once all tribes united and managed to build their first interplanetary spaceship. Since then they have split up in five space faring tribes, one of them being the Ark'Thur. Within the tribes, there is one leader, who controls the flagship of this tribe. However, this leader has to be proven worthy by the tribe. If another one seems to be a better leader, the current leader can be unproven and then be replaced.
