Randall Feragg has reversed the decision to completely phase out Quantum computers. Instead, critical infrastructure and military ships will be equipped with backup systems, enough to run most major systems, but not much more. This decision comes after the civilian sector's complete refusal to comply with the measure, as it would be an expenditure far exceeding any realistic expectations. ((Certain things, like the Singularity Installation and Torus, will only use Quantum's for the occasional AI)).

Recent allegations that not only were the Strigiforme attacked, but it was also carried out using Tachyon-Subspace warheads from the AUF, have received an immediate response from a representative of the Hexalani Internal Affairs Task Group.
"It is true that there was an attack carried out on Stauros using the warheads. But, the firing was not performed by Hexalani personnel, but rather an extremist splinter group who had intercepted the warheads which were en route to a storage facility. It was the freighter carrying the warheads, as well as a large amount of other sensitive equipment, that crashed into Manufactorum Primaris. Do not worry though, as the splinter group has been taken care of, and additional measures are being taken to eliminate any others."

The exact plans regarding the modernization of the fleet, primarily regarding the outdated ships of the 1st fleet, have been announced:
The Mako-class is to be completely decommisioned.
The Sawfish-class and the Manta-class ships are going to be reorganized into a specialized anti-piracy fleet, as they are no longer useful in war, but should still be viable against the kinds of ships typically used by pirates. The numbers of the Manta-class are also going to be greatly reduced.
Finally, the Mobocarriers are to be modernized to supply the 2nd fleet with up-to-date Dreadnaughts.
Finally, with the 1st fleet gone, the second and third fleets will be given more descriptive names, namely "Heavy Fleet" and "Fast Response Fleet".

In other news, several politicians have announced plans to leave the GSI in favor of the UGC. This movement is supported by the military and secret service for unspecified reasons.
Due to increased tensions with the Strigiforme, the MR has also advised its citizens to not travel to Hexalan, the AUF and, with the official reason that they still have information on Tyylviians and might therefore become a target of the Strigiforme, Zuguth until the current crisis has ended.
the government also officially stated that "the GSI military pact only applies in a defensive situation" and that "such a defensive situation would unlikely be the case, as information available to the MR points towards Hexalani agression"

Edit: The government has taken back their claims that the Hexalani were the agressors and is offering the Strigiforme access to intelligence proving that it was an extremist goup within the Hexalani military that carried out the attack, which they did not have access to when making the initial statement.

The Strigiforme have begun placing fleet on their borders, and reports from the shipyards show that they are in constant usage. Several worlds are experiencing large orbital defensive construction, improving already powerful defences.

The Strigiforme stance has not changed.

The secret service has also announced that, for unspecified reasons, the WRAITH units are required to stay out of public.

The movement to join the UGC has grown, especially with current tensions between the Strigiforme and Hexalan.
This issue has been scheduled for a session of parliament in 4 days.

[Meta] Draco group invasion force (ARK), after secretly scouting out the defenses, continues to grow in size, hidden deep in dark space.

The 20 psionics have honed their skills as best as possible in training; field deployment against pirates is expected soon.

In addition, a breakthrough has been obtained in the Psionic Nano-bots; the bots can temporarily store psionic power and effectively prevent the psionic from losing it's aptitude from any source. However, the nano-bots are still vulnerable themselves, but are very small and thus practically undetectable. Loss of control is not an issue; the nano-bots merely have receivers and their various tools. The main control circuits are attached to the psionic's power suit, running on quantum computers with silicon backup circuits. The project has been renamed "Thor".

The construction of the Gatekeeper-class starbase on Draco side is still going,with the hull complete,now adding the internal areas and weaponry.

And on the note of forge worlds, a surprisingly number of CSN and Commonwealth Civil Engineers have volunteered for the cybernetics testing program. Several of them have made joking references to being Tech-Priests.

"Sir, i'm detecting something on the sensors." The officer on the bridge, looking out the window, turned back to look at the sensor operator behind him.

"Oh?" he asked.

"Yes sir. Detected via gravimetric sensors. EM and visual sensors turn up nothing in the same area."

"Bring it up onscreen." The main bridge screen shifted and displayed a map of Antioch. A large cone displayed the ship's sensor aperture; a flashing red dot marked the contact. "Little bugger."

"Sir, the Corrupting Alternative and the Helix Fossa are less than 5 minutes away."

"I'll signal them." The officer pressed a few buttons on the communicator console, and opened a channel to them. "We're detecting a contact a few clicks from your location. Could be a cloaked ship. Relaying the sensor feed. Seek to disrupt and disable, not destroy."

"Acknowledged Alexandria," responded the Helix Fossa.

The ships approached the contact, weapons hot.
