I just want a place to live that i dont have to bother about corruption.

A place where i can lead a quiet peaceful life, meditating, growing some things on my backyard, training my archery, stuff like that.

We had that in Brazil a long time ago,but everything is expanding. Soon...all "quiet places" full of green will be gone

From what I've heard, French citizens tend to be pretty nationalistic. Almost as much as Americans.

Also, @LS: It's not uncommon for people to take old school buses and convert them into Class C motorhomes. Source: was a full-time RVer for three years

The 10 least corrupt countries by 2013 are, from least to most corrupt, Denmark, New Zealand, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Singapore, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Australia and Canada.
On a list from 0 to 100, where 0 is fully corrupt and 100 is no corruption at all, Denmark and New Zealand scores 91, Sweden and Finland 89, Norway 86, while the US is at 73 and Austria is at 69. By comparison, Brazil is at 42, and Mexico is at 34.

So yeah Austria is relatively mediocre when it comes to corruption.

@Dayn Your corruption index only measures how corrupt people see their government as. Technically all your index says is how much corruption the people think there is. In Austria, every single corrupt politican gets shitloads of media, which makes the score go down even if we don't have that much corruption in the first place. In the US, no media ever talks about corrupt politicians (because suggesting so is slander against the companies that are occused of bribery appearently), so most people think that their contry is not corrupt.
Essentially it's inaccurate.

I will repeat, This index says how corrupt a government comes across to their own people, which is kinda a big difference from actual corruption.
And America is kinda doing a good job at hiding their corruption from the people.
Austrian media kinda makes a really big deal of corruption all the time.
The above two are facts. (btw, the first one is a thing that they teach in schools over here.)
It is also a fact that how the media portrays things has an influence on what people think.
If you keep in mind the respective media in Austria and the US, you can say that the corruption in Austria is percieved higher than it is in international comparison while in America, corruption goes quite unnoticed, pushing the percieved corruption below actual corruption. If it was possible to accurately include factors like these in the calculation to get the levels of actual corruption, the gap of 4 points between Austria and the US would very likely be closed and inverted, placing Austria with less corruption than the US.

I am sorry if my above post came across as an opinion, it was meant as a logical conclusion.

After finding that North Korea is only 8, I must congratulate the makers of the 3 studies conducted there for being able to make accurate studies in North Korea. Obviously the people secretly hate the government there. The people who made those studies deserve a medal.
