They are crewed by Strigiforme, who wouldn't appreciate other species on their ships, and even if it was a non-Strig trading ship, they'd have to be checked to go past the border worlds, if let through at all. And if you are implying that the ship hid on the side of the hull, the shield would repulse it because shields are always on to repel meteoroids that would damage the hull.

Randall pressed a few buttons to initiate the stasis sequence. The 20 soldiers were ready. They had each been given an extreme amount of psionic power, permanately; with training, and time, they would become the most dangerous psionics in the known universe. Though they were dangerous, extremely. Should the quantum-control circuits fail, they would likely enter an unimaginable rage. With the level of power they each possessed, and considering the extent of the psionic augments they possessed, they could destroy entire continents. But it wouldn't go that far, and Randall was certain that the circuits wouldn't fail. And even if they did, the psionic nano-bots within them held a lethal kill switch; if control was ever lost, the psionic would be executed.

There was also the issue of hiding their signature, lest they could be detected at every turn. Randall had commissioned a special vessel capable of concealing them, with a multitude of psionic jammers and concealers. The station they were on also held them. Maybe it would keep the MR out of their business. But the flux was indeed nasty; Randall could feel it from the planet below. He never wanted to experience it again. These 20 psionics were the only ones who would receive additional power.

As he watched, the stasis tanks began to clear, showing the occupants inside. 8 men, 12 women. All were bearing a light grey armor, a specialized powered suit that would amplify and harness their capabilities to extreme extents. It had the usual equipment; life support, shield generators, a weapon system. And then it possessed the psionic equipment; power capacitors, amplifiers, reactors. It would allow them to do more with their power without endangering themselves. They were already coming online; several red lights on each suit turned green as they successfully activated. Randall opened the door next to him and stepped inside as the stasis chambers opened, revealing their occupants. The first stepped out; a fellow named Diamedes. "Excellent," Randall said. He looked into his eyes and briefly saw a fire behind them, a look of rage and hate, until they softened. The fire vanished. The others began leaving their stasis chambers as well. Behind him, a heavy-duty laser turret descended from the ceiling, prepared to defend Randall in the event of hostility.

When everyone had left their chamber, Randall smiled. "Step, forth," he ordered. After a second, the 20 individuals walked towards him and stopped a few meters in front of him. Randall glanced over each one. "Our efforts here have made each and every one of you the most powerful psionic in the universe," Randall said. He folded his hands behind is back. "We have given you this power for an explicit purpose; to advance the interests of the Antioch United Federation and everyone within. I expect you to fulfill this purpose. I expect you to protect the AUF from any threat, near and far, and to preserve our daily lives. And I expect, that you will serve the AUF without fail and without end." He began pacing around the half-circle the 20 persons made. "Do your job well, and we will take care of you. Fail us, and we will punish you. Do I make myself clear?" He waited a few seconds.

"Yes." "Clear." "Affirmative." Many different responses. They all meant the same thing.

"Excellent. Your training begins immediately. The facility you reside in now is our training facility. We can help you control your power, but no more. To realize your full potential, you must hone your skills and discover your talents, independently. You are the first step into power nobody has dared harness. You are Antiochia."

OOC: Fenway how the hell would you hide psionics like that? If I understand this correctly those twenty together would be like a psionic solar flare, I'm assuming your hidey ship would be like a three mile thick lead sphere because jammers work by blaring untuned energy out to block actual signals which means youd be lighting yourself up even more.

OOC: Slight remastering of the original course of events leading to the ping, in that for starters, the freighter was slightly into the 'border' at the edge with closest and clearest path the Cyuuth, and that after disgorging the shuttle thing, it was either destroyed by a patrol or intentionally induced a reactor meltdown. Minimally using the stealth drive and overclocking the already disproportionally powerful engines, made it to a point where after launching a ping which barely identified what was probably Stauros (considering there shouldn't be a planet where what looks to be a planet is) just before being obliterated by the sorely over worked generator.

OOC: Shadow, it's both jammers and nullifiers. The nullifiers are specifically attuned to each person's psionic field (like a fingerprint) and is thus very capable of dampening or removing their signal, at the cost of dampening their ability as well. The jammer serves to cancel out their psionic powers at the same time, by projecting an equal yet opposite field. That's how it's hidden. And despite their psionic power, they aren't like a solar flare at all; TOGETHER, they could destroy continents, but apart from each other, they could pull a small ship out of orbit and crash it into the ground, MAYBE a larger ship (unlikely) if they can control their power enough. Each signal would be akin to a Chaos Emerald's normal operational signal, which isn't too detectable.

In addition, how detectable they are is entirely dependent on how much psionic power they're exerting as well. Past the initial charging to raise them to this power level, there's not going to be any significant signals going out, especially due to the nullifiers and jammers in use.

[Meta] The AUF carrier ship Omega Hive has begun warping probes to Strigiforme systems in search of Stauros. It will begin working it's way through outer systems in the direction opposite of the main civilized space. The carrier is unmarked with no IFF and no identifying features, manned by a skeleton crew, and utilizing readily available technology on the market rather than military hardware. The AUF will deny any knowledge of Omega Hive if captured, and self destruct procedures are set in the event of discovery. The carrier will warp to a new system every 2 launched probes.

The probes are designed to warp in, conduct one sensor sweep of the system, relay the transmission, then self-destruct using a very potent acid capable of melting the silicon components used in its construction. The probes themselves are composed of many different models, from many different manufacturers and empires, and also are unmarked with no IFF system. [/Meta]

"The full object would have to be massive, planet-sized even. But, there should not be a planet right there right now. We can extrapolate its orbit and plan a firing arc, sir."

Pretty much, yes. However if I understand Fenway's torus project, Abbadon, and Azrael would fit into maybe about 2 or 3% of his Torus.

We have encountered an issue in the AUF.
There has been a major peak in psionic energies at [coordinates attached].
At first, there has simply been a major rise in psionic power, not properly identifyable due to massive ammounts of psionic flux disturbing the sensor readings.
We urged the NR to stop it, as the flux was in the process of reaching lethal levels. Shortly after recieving a response saying they have it under control, there has been a short increase in power allowing us to identify the source, namely 20 extremely powerful psionic humans. We believe they had been in stasis, blurring and dampening their signatures until that point. Each of these psionics has roughly the power of a chaos emerald, making them a serious threat, considering psionics of this power magnitude are usually prone to corruption. Several minutes after, the signatures disappeared almost entirely. We don't know whether they died due to improper procedures by the AUF leading to acute flux syndrome or whether the AUF managed to mask their signatures. We can not discover psionic jamming or blocking fields with our long-range scanners, so we can't be sure. We would offer you an information link notifying you whenever one or more of them come out of hiding and are detected by our sensors though, as we managed to pick up their signatures briefly.
