You know, with your obsession with freedom and all, why not just go for no government? Places like Somalia must be a paradise for you people, especially when you all have assault rifles and miniguns and howitzers and what not in your basements, and two tanks in your garages.

The police can have em and I can't??? I'm all for that! I was going to suggest this idea that we don't need to be governed and we could all just be sane, logical, happy people in the politics thread but... communism! (As long as I'm the leader that is.)

Anarchy doesn't sustain itself; every time it's been tried, a governing body always forms.

And can I just say giving every derp and his dog a weapon is the road to a disaster, of massive proportions?

Yeah Switzerland is such a fucked up place. Everyone there with their highest gun ownership rate in the world are just murderous lunatics that plunder and rape like barbarians.

Getcho facts straight, guns don't kill people, Untrained idiots kill people.

Don't be mean to dogs D:
They make great military soldier companions and bomb finders.
Plus anyone who hurts a dog falls under the kick the dog trope in TvTropes and gains all the negatives with it.

Actual communism would never work with humans, because with it everyone's equal, everyone has the same things, and it's both boring and inhuman.
Capitalism, to some extent, will eventually happen in any political system because of the way humans work, but pure capitalism isn't all that good either.

It's wasteful. The planet wouldn't be able to sustain everyone under a capitalist economy.

First, we need to start either a) killing huge numbers of humans (frowned upon) or b) start moving them offworld (frowned upon, but due to the cost), or c) nuke the entirety of the planet to stop these "humans" spreading (frowned upon, but only very briefly).

Only then can this planet sustain the humans we have; 2-3 billion is probably the optimal number.

Unless we do that, no economic or government system is sustainable

It was believed, prior to the whole pesticides and chemical fertilizers thing, that the world could only support 2-3 billion before mass starvation set in. This is untrue; with current crop yields, the world could be comfortably fed at the current population. You simply have to accept that everyone can be fed, but not everyone can live the first world lifestyle you enjoy. Accept that inequality, and you will see that the future is far better than one with communism or limited population.

The Strigiforme have yet to enforce their opinoons on Terra; your opinion is therefore invalid.
