Art of War-quotes

The Art of War wrote:All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.
The Art of War wrote:Pretend inferiority and encourage his arrogance.
The Art of War wrote:It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.
The Art of War wrote:For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.
The Art of War wrote:Subtle and insubstantial, the expert leaves no trace; divinely mysterious, he is inaudible. Thus he is master of his enemy's fate.
The Art of War wrote:Of all those in the army close to the commander none is more intimate than the secret agent; of all rewards none more liberal than those given to secret agents; of all matters none is more confidential than those relating to secret operations.

Pretend inferiority and encourage his arrogance.

I love this one

Subtle and insubstantial, the expert leaves no trace; divinely mysterious, he is inaudible. Thus he is master of his enemy's fate.

We seek after knowledge, and you call us criminals. We exist without skin color, without nationality, without religous bias... and you call us criminals. You build atomic bombs, you wage wars, you murder, cheat, and lie to us and try to make us believe it's for our own good, yet we're the
criminals.Yes, I am a crimial. My crime is that of curiosity."

These seem to have a common theme with something, I can't tell what though, it's on the tip of my tongue.

Spoiler:
You bet your ass we're all alike... we've been spoon-fed baby
food at school when we hungered for steak... the bits of meat that you
did let slip were pre-chewed and tasteless. We've been dominated by
sadists, or ignored by the apathetic. The few that had somthing to
teach found us willing pupils, but those few are like drops of water in
the desert.

This is our world now... the world of the electron and the
switch, the beauty of the baud. We make use of the service already
existing without paying for what could be dirt-cheap if it wasn't run by
profiteering gluttons, and you call us criminals. We explore... and you
call us criminals. We seek after knowledge, and you call us criminals.
We exist without skin color, without nationality, without religous
bias... and you call us criminals.
You build atomic bombs, you wage wars, you murder, cheat, and
lie to us and try to make us believe it's for our own good, yet we're the
criminals.

Yes, I am a crimial. My crime is that of curiosity. My crime is
that of judging people by what they say and think, not what they look
like. My crime is that of outsmarting you, something you will never
forgive me for.

Please don't.

Anyway, that's a great book, or whatever you want to call it. A lot of it is very intuitive 'common sense' sort of stuff, but awesomely simple.
