The CSN, given it's history, is proving exceptionally good at smacking down SDI-funded pirate activity. Both arkships have regrouped over Novus, and planetary defenses have gone to alert status.

Having been hit by the Barrage Cannon, the 70 chaos Emeralds currently present on the GAIA were scattered into space.
Although the military has managed to recollect them, the power of the explosion has turned them unstable, making them unfit for anything other than use in Chaos Emerals bombs.
The Strigiforme-pirates are having a major impact on logistics, because transports now have to be grouped into convois with military protection.
Due to the Andromeda-jumpgate no longer being save, the evacuations are now fully directed towards tho ther, secret location[meta], namely the Pegasus Galaxy, reached with a secret Novan Jumpgate the MQR has been granted access to[/meta], where the Equestrians are already being evacuated to.

The government has stated that they have a plan to defeat the Strigiforme, but they are running out of time to execute it, so they are ensuring the survival of the civilians by sending them to remote and secret locations.

OOC: concerning the issue of how to not suffer massively from the evacuation, I still have the militia, which is composed of civilians that can be called to arms in times of war, so I have people with the skills to operate stuff. And almost all "dumb labour" (like agriculture) is automated, so starving won't be a thing either. And because the MQR is an agrarian exporter, I can also increase the operational time of Novan forces or deal with chemical bombardement on some of my planets. (I also have massive grain stockpiles to fall back on.)

The Barrage Cannon has fired on the Novan gate to Andromeda. It is now traversing to fire on other targets. The Strigiforme fleet at Cyytrriil has jumped to the nearest Novan system, (you can name it) under a super shield, but has not made any movements yet. The fleets on the Strigiforme-MQR border have simultaneously begun rapidly advancing into MQR space, with the fleets at Serpentis moving towards the border in a pincer move.

When did Error build a secret jump gate? These things are expensive, you can't just pull them out of your ass.

Defenses have been rallied of Aquaria (yer fleet der); the Barrage Cannon round fired at the gate was deflected by the gate's shielding, but at the cost of 12 hours of operation (used it's capacitors to jump the round into deep space, but can't do much for a while now).

[meta]The Hyperspace Missile Array has fired a volley of 6 72mt warheads on a small shipbuilding world in Strigiforme space (you name it), targeting orbital facilities and dockyards. the Prowler fleet is moving in staggered hops towards Cuuyth, staying at least 2 AU away from all planets, as per SOP.[/meta]

(Also, how many ships in your fleet?)

The shipbuilding world of Tyyrl VI was severely damaged, as the orbital shields were only able to go operational fast enough to stop the last 2 warheads. Based on data from the trajectory of the missiles, however, Strigiforme analysts are attempting to find the launcher.

The fleet is ~120 ships
1 Aiigaiion
3 Dreadnoughts
31 cruisers
20 destroyers
30 frigates
10 shield ships
30 support ships(ammo, yttrium, food, ect)

You should remember that they are testing a stealth detection method over Cuuyth, and that since it is wartime the shield is almost always up.

Yes, I know of Cuuyth's shield, but 2 AU is twice the distance from Sol to Terra, so you don't have enough stealth-detection satellites to find them.

[Meta]With evacuations nearing completions, Long Reach is fortified better than Novus at this point. The Prowlers are a few hours from Cuuyth, and have located several shipyards on their route. The Hyperspace Missile Array is being towed to a new location and reloading to fire again.
[/meta]

The PM has put out a call for all SDI and GSI nations to send a diplomat to Sol, where, hopefully, a peace treaty can be worked out to everyone's satisfaction.

Aquaria now has all 5 defense platforms and 38 ships standing by, staring down their barrels at the Strigiforme fleet. Psi-jammers have been activated, and they're sending communications on a regular basis, requesting the Strigiforme stand down and accept negotiations.

Hexalan is willing to provide a diplomat, but will only be sending him should the Strigiforme attend.

The Strigiforme will send a diplomat.

-Strigiforme Construct
"Commander, we have the order to fire."

"Good. Begin warmup procedures."

"Roger. CEP-500 active. All systems read green, ready to fire."

"This is the Commander to all Stauros crew; we are firing, brace all defensive weaponry."

The Stauros, a massive gun-barrel shaped apparatus, covered in defensive CIWS systems, began glowing from the barrel before disgorging a massive burst of red light that masked another ray, invisible because of its speed, heading towards Aquaria.

Meanwhile at Aquaria.
The ray of energy from the Stauros burst here, impacting the Strigiforme shield and triggering a cascade of dangerous energy all around. While the rays did no structural harm to the Novan ships, nor did they kill the crew(though they might have cancer now), they did irreparably destroy all quantum computers. The AIs controlling the defence platforms, the missile guidance computers, the ship's reactor regulators; all these run on quantum computers, which the Stauros has been designed to disrupt and destroy. The Strigiforme ships, having had this all planned out on a time schedule before, emerged from the shield and began attacking.

This is canon, before you protest. Fen has approve. Your ships can operate, they are just going to be shit. You have no missile guidance, steering, engine, and reactor control are all on manual, ect. Those AI weapons platforms are dead. The anti-quantum rays are still around in the system, and will ruin quantum stuff there for ages, but the Strigiforme are unaffected because they are so shit. The only downside of the Stauros is that the projectile has to impact a super-shield, or else it will just fly past.

Still calling BS; quantum computers are beyond even the Novans. I'll accept the wrecking-my-computers, but be aware that Stauros (quit rippin' off AC, m8) just wiped normal computers.

BIC;

"Commander, Laura just flatlined... defense platforms reporting they lost AIs... similar from the fleet."

Commander Valkryus slammed a fist into the DRADIS console. "Go to manual backups; pick Artemis' target and kill it."

- - -
The fleet broke into orderly groups, each force of 10 concentrating on a single enemy vessel. Railguns flashed and plasma bolts flew; ion weaponry lit the sky. Three of the defense platforms aligned on a cruiser, and simultaneously fired their guns; 12 shells, travelling at 2,350km/s, tore towards the enemy fleet. Fighters sprinted forwards, eager to engage.

Artemis, leading the fleet, gave orders, and the ships opened fire with their Phoenix cannon, beams of superheated metal tearing across space.

On the planet, AA defenses went active, and the anti-orbital mass drivers began firing, slinging their explosive payloads upwards at the Strigiforme.

Wait wait what?

In this day and age Error, I believed that everyone used quantum computing, simply because it's more powerful and compact than regular silicon-based computing. We have done quantum computing on small scales today IRL; what's to say we won't have full-on quantum computers everywhere in the future where we have FTL and super-shields and singularity compressers?

NeoRome used extensive quantum computing, for example.

BIC:

The Tachyon-Subspace production quota has been met and the 10 weapons have been created; hundreds more are being created from ripped-out subspace cores from decommissioned ships.

//AUF Long Range Sensor Station Dark Tower//

"General!" cried the officer as he entered the bridge. It was filled with blinking lights and red warning messages. "We have a priority Alpha detection, relaying..."

"I know already!" the decorated general shouted back at him, clearly annoyed. "And I assume you have the entry and exit points?"

"Yes sir. Point of origin is the Strigiforme Construct, exit point is the Novan system Aquaria."

"At least we have that."

Quantum computers, AI or normal, would be capable of doing any calculation instantaneuously; literally so. Thus, AIs would likely just exterminate biological life (easy enough when you can literally predict every possibly reaction), and thus, we would lack an RP.

I'll say that hyper-advanced silicon (or ridiculously chuggy-slow quantum) comps are the norm, unless you want everyone to have effectively instant research speed.

If you stick to your guns, aight, but be aware either your quantum-comps are total shite (by the standards of quantum comps) or everyone can do any calculation instantly (save MAYBE the Strigiforme, what with their shat-comps).
