OOC: I find your spontaneous expire wide evacuation of whole planets illogical. Also, andromeda appears to be a good target for nuclear warheads out the wazoo.

Re: Where we Left Off
The colonies aren't whole planets. Well, some of them are, but those who are just have a city or three on them and that's it. With so many colonies spread all over the galaxy, and with such a small military, don't you agree that the best course of action would be to evacuate to the Andromeda galaxy, which is actually quite safe?

Re: Where we Left Off
I agree. 90% of all military forces are stationed in the Milky Way and getting to other galaxies requires advanced stuff like the Galactic Jumpgates employed by Novus.

Re: Where we Left Off
Andromeda is as well-defended as the MW Commonwealth at this point, and both the MQR and ZE would be allowed throuh the JumpGate.
Just be aware that if things come to combat, nobody jumps to Andromeda.

Re: Where we Left Off
Strigiforme Andromeda Colony Forces have been granted 2 fleets for defence. The colonies, which were used as a valve for overpopulation, have several shipyards and large stockpiles of resources. While they will be cut off from regular contact with the Strigiforme, they will likely be well off with their defences and healthy fleet size.
[meta]In the Milky Way, the Strigiforme have paid off several groups of pirates and privateers to make an assault on the MQR jump gate to Andromeda.[meta] The Barrage Cannon has switched its target from Equestria to the Novan jump gate to Andromeda. Over Cuuyth, an experimental stealth detection method is being tested, wherein small satellites are released in large clouds, and will monitor and transmit any impacts such as contacting a cloaked ship or a cloaked ship's gravitational field. With the shield constantly around Cuuyth, it will be difficult for any ship in orbit to evade them(Error).
Why would you run away to Andromeda? If your fleets lose here, you are pretty much giving up all your planets. You are doing half the Strigiforme's job for them.

Re: Where we Left Off
Because we're nice guys. The offensive-oriented Strigiforme invade, meeting the (very) defensive-oriented Novans, bloodbath occurs. Your shields are a blessing and a curse; excellent protection, but you can't shoot in, OR out. So we're being kind; you invade, you will NOT enjoy the experience.

The Aurelian superdreadnought has had two of it's tertiary weapons reactivated; fusion lance weapons, similar if effect to a fusion coil splicer, albiet rather more powerful (and slower-firing).
[Meta] Research into subspace weapons, as well as Rift weapons; nuclear warheads that tear holes into subspace. Research is likely to be slow, but such a weapon would easily outstrip even Nova cannon.
Addittionally, the primary (but completely inert, unfortunately) weapon of the Aurelian dreadnought has been determined to be a singularity weapon. Its means of operation are still under study.[/meta]

Re: Where we Left Off
The Strigiforme have just completed a new superdreadnought, the Gyygiis, with internal components still awaiting finishing. It will have hardened shields and a new prototype CIWS system.
Since we are pulling random super ships out of our rectums. If it's in response to the Strigiforme Construct, you need to wait your 50 pages to get it.

Re: Where we Left Off
If you mean the Aurelian ship, your dreadnoughts (if they're at all worthy of the name) match up to it just fine, and probably outgun it; it uses Novan railgun and plasma beams. The only Big Thing it has are shields almost on par with your own.
And you'll note I halted work on my Titan. And I've no clue what your Construct does, and for the moment, don't give a flying.
And how do you harden shields that can tank supernovae?

Regular shields- they are just like everyone else's shields, but significantly stronger
Super shields- invulnerable, run off Yttrium.

Re: Where we Left Off
Can we NOT pull super-dreadnoughts out of our arses? ACH, you gave no indication that you were building the Gyygiis, and a super-dreadnought is serious business. Error, you can keep the Aurelian ship UNDER THE CONDITION that it does not have the shields AND it is not a dreadnought.
Both are rescinded by order of GM Fenway.
Also, super shields aren't invincible, just really really tough. Like, you need a LOT of energy to crack them. Like a full-on siege.

Re: Where we Left Off
They are effectively invulnerable, and usually it's just a better policy to let the shield generators run out of Yttrium. But a full on massive fleet firing everything at once could, maybe, break them. Depending on whether it is an orbital shield unit(stronger than ship carried) or ship based. They mostly serve to prevent decapatory long range strikes.
Gyygiis was mostly a joke, anyways.

Re: Where we Left Off
Fen, I call it a dread due to size (it's pretty big), but it's armament gives it roughly a heavy cruiser / light battlecarrier's punch.
And I did kind of asspull, yes, because so far no player faction has been completely wiped off the map, and ACH could do that to the NC, so I'd like something to make this a war, not a roflstomp. So I'm keeping powerful shields, but they'll be what you'd expect on a MW heavy battleship instead.
Bear in mind in their prime (4,500ish years ago) the Aurelians could've fought and won a war against the Strigiforme, they just had no interest in anything outside Andromeda at the time.

The 10th and 11th Fleets have gone through the jumpgate to the Emperor's Child colony in Andromeda. Forces are on high alert.

Re: Where we Left Off
The Strigiforme have begun focusing ships at Cyytrriil, gathering a massive fleet. It includes the Aiigaiion, along with a few ships from almost every inner world's defence fleets. The fleet is being supplemented by freshly produced fighters and bombers, rigged onto the hulls of every ship, and by dozens of retrofit civilian ships with improved shield units and packed with Strigiforme marines and supplies.
