Also, I have been thinking. In case the AUF were to join both alliances, and the two would go to war with one another, the AUF could propably choose to either help the defending side or remain neutral.

Large-scale AA defenses are being put in place on Novan worlds, and a large number of fighters and sublight defense ships are being constructed.

The CSN has been raised to Alert Condition 2, and Gambler's Ruin has been disarmed and is being refitted in secret over Novus.

The Prowler stationed near Andromeda-Kappa (the CSN term for the center-of-the-galaxy singularity) has located the only remaining Aurelian starship, and is preparing it for a trip to LongmReach and Novus.

OOC, the Aurelian ship has defenses (shields and armour) that make the Strigiforme look like amateur hour, but it completely unarmed (unless you count the Kzinti Lesson as a weapon). That said, anything with reaction drives can use the fusion torch method.

In light of recent military buildup, the AUF has dramatically stepped up recruitment and ship construction at a vastly accelerated pace. In addition, defensive stations, platforms, and installations are being constructed all over AUF space. These stations are heavily armed, armored, and will use extremely powerful and experimental Dimensional Shielding developed by NeoRome shortly before it's exile. The shielding requires absolutely massive power inputs but projects a field of a strength that rivals Strigiforme shields. Due to it's massive power requirements [It's WAY less efficient than Strigiforme shields], it can be only be used in stationary, large installations.

The Aurora has been rechristened the Eternal Will, and is close to completion. It's reactor unit is large enough to power a Dimensional Shield unit or the Spinal mounted PPC, but not both at the same time. The Eternal Will will have a planetary-class Plasma Shielding unit in addition to the Dimensional Shield unit, which will protect the ship during the use of the spinal-mounted PPC.
