Apparently the latest Long War update was bugged and made it so that armor was completely useless, meaning soldiers on mission start with with 1-2 damage (at first) and always end up wounded. I thought it was a feature. But now I have 40 pretty decent soldiers to rotate through, which is nice. Found the fix, so lets kick ass with armor!

I've done some missions with the FC squad, and here's my impression;

-Ivan and Error, the sniopehs, kick ass together. You've saved our bacon multiple times. Like shooting a sectopod in the face from across the map for critical hits, one after the other.

-Fenway and Vinyl, the infantry, a

-Biomech Omega (scout) has gotten shot in the face too many times to count, and lived every time. Lucky son of a *.

-Tiel can't save a life if his life depended on it (Seriously. I had 3 soldiers bleed out to death with you on top of them.)

-Deadly is useful for drawing enemy fire and spamming 'nades everywhere. Took out three Mutons in one volley, you did.

-Ach, I have you as a gunner, and you suppress people long enough to keep everyone else safe. Strigiforme super bullet shields for the win.

Tiel doesn't seem like he would have good bedside manner.
You should replace him with me when a sectoid eats his face.

ACH with big gun. Dakkadakkadakkadakkadakka

And Fen has proved himself badass over here, too. Snapshot, but with a slightly terrifying hit rate. Including at least two 15% hits.

ACH is now part of the crew, (as a MEC, what with the flamethrower and total lack of subtlety) and has a fair few kills, including burning two Outsiders to death in one go (and lighting a Muton on fire).

You're doing long war too, I presume?

Anyway, Error you dun goofed and got half my squad killed. You missed a 95% shot, allowing a Muton to take out 3 guys with a grenade and then for his Muton buddy, who was being suppressed, to take out another dude with plasma applied to the face. It was nobody important, but I had to abandon the mission and now the Aliens completely control South America.

I've not got Long War on, but if it makes you feel better ACH missed a 98% shot once. With a railgun.

I'll probably use LW in my next save.

What Error said.
Projected squad for final assault:
Koby "Cavnin" Carino(psi/volunteer/squadsight sniper): Joined XCOM to avenge Luna, who was raped by Chrysalids.
Christoph "Miranda" Koschei(psi/heavy): Basically the guy for murdering aliens. Lotsa.
Tau "Nope" Xi(support): He acts as the team's medic, but can just as well kick alien ass.
Void "Shadow" Lightspeed(psi/Assault): After a steep career at EXALT (although being kicked out of their cells several times), he phones his old friends from the pre-Alien time, who happened to be working for XCOM by then and burned down their HQ.
Vinyl "DJ" Scratch(MEC): EXTERMINATE
Grey "Brutus" Skytheri(snapshot sniper): He's one of the team's most important members when it comes to fighting in confined spaces. Having the accuracy of a sniper is important, and when squadsight is impractical, he takes over.

Also all members of the squad except Vinyl have genemods.

ACH, for all your missing epically, you do love flaming EXALT. A lot. Like, you've caused more panic than the entire alien invasion did in Argentina.

Oh, and I genemodded Fen to do Super Jumps(TM). He is now that bugger raining lazor beems from above while ACH lights the world on fire (giggling madly) below.

But unfortunately, I had to train a new squadsight snipah, as Finn (the Swede) Pedersson got bumrushed by Chryssalids in the fishing vilage mission. But my cloaky-bastard support (mimetic skin) managed to do the transponder dance and lased a bunch of Chryssalids on the way out (and yes, ACH burned many of them, cackling madly and somehow forcing a CHRYSSALID to PANIC. And RUN AWAY.)

In what mission do you think that Chrysalid killed Luna so she was replaced with Koby?
