OOC: @Error AFAIK the MQR is still bigger than Novus, the only reason Novus was the boss in the "union" was because it had jumped on the winning side of the war. If Novus can expect to pull off the plan to "build a titan" by themselves, so can the MQR. Not to mention we still have the hull of the decommissioned "Fortress" Superdreadnaught floating around. We can recycle a lot from that ship.
//Message to Jade//
As your entire faction is mechanical, you will be able to colonize areas unacessible to organic beings.
I am sending you coordinates of an otherwise unhabitable system in the Andromeda galaxy that has no single planet inside its habitable zone, making it inefficient to colonize by organics (OOC: outside of habitable zone basically means you have to use large ammounts of energy on environment control, which makes it a questionable choice if you have systems with planets inside that habitable zone as a choice instead), preventing conflict. Dispite this, it has several rock-surface planets beyond the habitable zone (aka cooler, ideal for machines) as well as an asteroid belt close to those. It also has a distance to other inhabited worlds that prevents territorial conflicts. In short, the perfect world for an AI wishing to start form scratch. However, it is in the Andromeda galaxy, so you'd have to negotiate with either Novus or the Strigiforme for initial access.
//end of message//
An anonymous "insider" has leaked information that the retrofit of the Mobocarrier will include, among other things, special "psionic waste capacitors" and "psionic flux cannons" designed to collect, store and use in combat the waste energy prduced by converting psionic energy into electricity. Ethicists all over the MQR are enraged, as that waste energy is known to be very hazardous to living beings and its weaponization would be equal to "dirty bombs" from the nuclear age. Military journalists are also worried: "What in the name of Aurora are they installing on that ship that creates enough psionic waste to have it weaponized? Whatever they're installing must be extremely poweful. I would not worry about the psionic waste - whatever produces that as a by-product will propably kill anything that gets affected by it anyway."

[Message to Jade]
The Zuguthian Empire agrees to give you access to a small solar system in the Milky Way galaxy, unhabitable by organic life but with sufficient amounts of materials, under following conditions:
-You are to be observed and studied by TechTron Industries and/or other Zuguthian scientists and technicians at all times.
-You are not to attack any faction or perform any hostile activity. If you attack a faction or perform an activity that could be a threat against any separate faction or even the galactic community at large, you will be terminated with whatever weaponry available.
-You are to aid the Zuguthian Empire with research and, to a certain extent, mining.
You will also receive help and repairs if you need it. We hope that you accept this offer, for the safety of the Galactic Community and for the advancement of science.
Sincerely, Empress Alva Setinara.

We find your terms more than fair, and graciously accept your offer. As for mining aid, would 15% of mined minerals and ores, by mass, be acceptable?

Estimated data on the Warpgate stored, and further calculation has been ceased, temporarily.

Re: Where we Left Off
OOC: @Solar I am confused. The AI got basically the same offer, with more detailed information, an unclaimed territory on its own and no restrictions on what to do from me. Except the not-being-hostile thing, because it's obvious that generic_AI/rampage.exe will cause a galactic shitstorm against it anyway.

15% sounds like a fair deal. We're transmitting the coordinates.
===
A group of science ships and a small construction ship have been sent to the system specified to Jade. A research base will be constructed over whatever planet the AI chooses as its capital.
Jean the Agressive AI has been shut down once again, seeing as his urge to destroy is no longer needed.
OOC: Ivan, I doubt the Novans would let Jade through the jumpgate, and besides, isn't it better that the most scientifically advanced faction watches over the AI, than that it roams freely in Andromeda?

Re: Where we Left Off
Yours was in the andromeda galaxy which would require Jade to deal with one of two factions, both of which she somewhat dislikes(Novus: -5 relation Owls: -345 relation.) or build her jump gate, which would require resources.
BIC:
After bidding fairwell to the Solari, All of jade's ships jump away. After jumping, she erases the copy at ALV. The new system has been designated S.00. Jade thanks the Zuguthians Again, and transmits a 'sterile' plain text copy to the Zuguthians as initial payment.

Re: Where we Left Off
Daynel; No faction can be claimed as the most 'scientifically advanced' because each faction has strengths in one area or another, and tech/knowledge tends to proliferate. Just FYI.

Re: Where we Left Off
OOC: I would think it better the biggest military watch over a free roaming AI, scientists are usually only good for meat shields and not soldiers.

We would, but Hexalan is not currently prepared to handle any situation which may arise from the AI's presence.Shadowcat wrote:biggest military

@Fen while tech does proliferate, some thing (e.g. Novan med-tech) is either exotic / expensive / difficult to produce / whatever, so most nation don't bother except the one specializing in it.

Re: Where we Left Off
@Shadow, this is not up for debate. My AI is staying in the system that Dayn lent it. Why is everyone being so technophobic? We're a Sci-Fi forum, we must have a robot faction, otherwise we're not a Sci-Fi forum.

Re: Where we Left Off
I'm not debating anything I'm just saying their logic is flawed, and I have noticed everyone being technophobic and was about to make a crappy paint meme comic to make fun of them.Solar112 wrote:@Shadow, this is not up for debate. Re: Where we Left Off
I fail to see how the logic is flawed, not every AI wants to kill all organics.
