Scientists have released details on the function of the Plasma Particle Cannon. The cannon takes high-mass elements, strips the atoms of electrons and super-heats it before running it through a magnetic tube, firing the particles at nearly .6 the speed of light. The particles impact with extreme energy nearly constantly, and the weapon acts as a beam weapon. The PPC can be fired continuously, as long as a material source is supplied. Almost any heavy atom can be fired by the PPC, and thus the material fired can be varied to account for different situations.

NeoRome never put the PPC into production as the cannon violated NeoRoman military standards, as the weapon cannot be easily adapted through purely software alone like the Fusion Coil Splicer can.

Full-scale production of the Plasma Particle Cannon has begun. Testing has revealed the existence of a critical design flaw; the weapon quickly overheats when fire is sustained for too long. It is thus necessary to install comprehensive thermal heat sinks on the weapons to sustain fire for at least 5 minutes per government mandate. Design revisions are underway.

The First Armada is being disassembled for component parts to construct the new line of AUF ships. The NeoRoman designs are expected to be completely phased out by the end of the year.

The AI chips were a sucess in lab-testing. They could protect the user from psionic attacks to a degree.

Spoiler:

The AI chip would function alongside the brain. IF a psionic attack of disabling nature happen,the chip could sustain the brain,giving it "extra power" to handle the stress of the attack.

Brainwave technology is another development. When a psionic attack of "moral" value happens [The ones that are used to diminish crew potential],the psionic band would them emit special isochronic tones directly at the brain,equalizing the state to a pre-configured setting. Tests are underway to determine how long can that function.

Goliath heavy cruisers are being built. At least 23 of them completed by the end of the month.

OOC: Fen,the Daniken uses the Hadron cannon,that is similar in function to your plasma splicer . So it could be easy to adapt heat-sinks and stuff.
