The Second Armada jumped in as the Tajer fleet regrouped, adding approximately 250 ships to the NeoRoman line in the standoff. Among those were three more dreadnoughts, each equipped with the powerful Positronic Fusion Coil splicer.
(Composition if battle erupts, same with tactics)

//AUF MESSAGE TO: TAJER WARFLEET//

Out of the goodness of our hearts, we are giving you only one opportunity to surrender all conquered land and retreat back to your empire. We will not ask for any resources, treaty agreements, or anything. Should you refuse, we will not hesitate to destroy you and your empire with extreme prejudice.

It's a simple decision. Make your choice. This is your only opportunity.

//END MESSAGE//

Massive recruitment programs are being initiated on all AUF worlds, aimed specifically at prior military personnel with experience who left the military completely, leaving half the ships un-crewed.

Full-scale production of ships have begun in all AUF shipyards, composed of new designs outside of the previous NeoRoman ones. While NeoRoman tech will be used, it will be fully assimilated, and a complete change in both infrastructure, protocols, and ship design will commence at the end of the current crisis.

The master Admiral sighed at the message, It was a standoff, He knew in a headon fight he would lose, Not even a retreating assault would help. He eyed fourth fleets information, it would be here soon. And that gave him a plan, It was a unorthodox plan, it was a crazy plan, if he survived it he would surely be executed for it. But it might win. He tapped a simple encrypted message to fourth fleet, it looked harmless, and order to exit jump three klicks more forward at full impulse all guns ready, They would assume that is was an attack order and they would be fighting on exit. He looked to the comms officer and said "All fleets attack, full impulse". The Tajerian fleet roared forward at full impulse guns at the ready. The AUF fleet prepared for a fight at the movement of the Tajer fleet but suddenly all of fourth fleet in its glory exited jump inside their fleet, The momentum of the ships flung them into the enemy ships smashing through them one dreadnaught took three battleships to the side the simultaneous explosion of four ammo holds caused the dreadnaught to disintegrate into massive chunks of scrap smashing into other ships and damaging them, Another dreadnaught took two battleships, one headon into its side, detonated, and left a huge hole, the other ripped through the top and spiraled off into another dreadnaught through a bunch of smaller ships. The resulting cloud of debris decimated smaller ships and the larger battleships took multiple cruisers and pinances to the sides(knee) and were very damaged, a few exploded from critical hits. This left half the enemy fleet decimated or trapped inside a debris field while the other half had varying levels of damage, the dreadnaughts took most of the hits leaving their shields down and right sides fairly damaged the rest of the fleet experienced everything from dreadnaught debris hitting them to small smashed fighters flying about like birdshot.
Right before first fleet and second & third fleet entered weapon range the admiral sent one last message to the opposing fleet: "We would like to renegotiate terms" and then, the battle began.

OOC: I expect much carnage, little survivors, This is after all an epic last stand.

The full Hexalani fleet exited slipspace at the massive energy signatures, a well as the lack of them. Faced fully to the backs of the Tajerans, volleys of MAC fire began taking their toll on the enemies. The Heartwriter fired one of its two MAC guns, shredding the shields of one of the battleships, the other shot obliterating it. Railguns and laser mounts entered range as the fleet closed. It was only seconds before their fusion coil splicers would be fully operational, then the real fun would begin,

Which fleet are you behind? I doubt your behind all of them first is behind the AUF fleet and the second and third we're surrounding a planet.
So of you came in behind us then you smashed into a planet and killed a few billion people.

Barial steadied himself as the dreadnought took another hit. Cruiser, but the shields held. "Who the fuck RAMS people?" He angrily asked the hapless officer behind him. "I mean seriously! Who the fuck throws away military assets like that?"

Positronic Fusion Coil Splicer was online. He slammed his fist on the console and the beams spat out from every location on the dreadnought, their immense power beating away at the Tajer ships like paper. Of what left of the AUF fleet, the Splicers were coming online, and they put on a pretty light show. They focused fired on the biggest ships, knocking them down and rapidly switching targets before the beam disengaged, reducing overkill power. The initial wave of the Third fleet fell before the splicers, and with the initial charging out of the way, the splicers could be fired as fast as the ships could charge them. The Positronic splicers were every bit powerful as the former Hierarchy claimed; a few of them, focused of course, could bring down and cripple a battleship in five seconds flat. Too bad they couldn't be mounted on anything smaller than a dreadnought, due to both their size and their power consumption.

The AUF fleet rallied and pulled together before charging at the oncoming Tajer fleet, or what the Fusion Coil Splicers hadn't destroyed. After clearing the debris field, the ships could bring their full firepower to bear; railguns, plasma cannons, laser weapons. The ships fired as the two fleets entered what is known as 'Melee' range, wiping out a considerable number of ships. At least half the fleet was decimated by now.

-META-
Command has approved the construction of over 500 ships cruiser sized and above. Their designs completely stray away from contemporary NeoRoman design protocols, due to recent tactics employed by the AUF's enemies.

Research: 100%
Research on planetary shielding has proven to be very fruitful. PS-X-1 has proven to be capable of refracting moderate strength laser bursts for short periods of time, before effectivity is greatly reduced. Furthermore PS-X-1 has been shown to allow 38% of solar radiation in, and 12% of what it let in back out, allowing a planet to mantain livable temperatures for roughly 8 standard months in the event a solar catastrophe would occur, resulting in the loss of Alpha Leonis. PS-X-2 has been shown to be much more effective than PS-X-1 in all regards, Allowing low exawatt range lasers to be refracted into harmless additional light for 36 hours before failing. A slug traveling at .6c has been shown to lose 28.7% of its velocity from the time it comes into range of the shields, to to the time it impacts the surface of a planet. PS-X-2 allows for 40% of solar radiation in, and a mere 8% of what it let in back out, unless otherwise desired. Information has been released to the TFA. Tweaking of PS-X-2 will occur for better performance at it's eventual home.

1x battleship is being constructed at ALV, while 5x Light frigates are being constructed at ALIV.

Battleship: 17%
LFrigates: 34%

A judicial system is being put in place on the outermost planet of the Alpha Leonis system for foreign agents that have been discovered or captured attempting to infiltrate our top secret information, or trespassing more than 50 AU into our declared 1.25 lightyear territorial radius. A patrol of 8 frigates have been sent in order to patrol the border.

OOC: What? One does not simply "Flank" a fleet in space when they know where you are. When your fleet tried to go around, we're shooting at them at the same time. Hence while I referred to you as "Tajer" fleet.

Also, this is a relatively spaced-out defensive line. Ok, actually, let me point out a bunch of flaws in your statements. I overlooked it before, but now, I don't know...

-NeoRoman ships do not use kinetic weapons very much; the only kinetic weapons are Railguns that do not have explosive charges. Thus, there are no "ammo" stores on NR ships

-NeoRoman ships generally space themselves out with at least 1 km or more between each ship; even in the new military it holds true. I gathered that you would have realized this from the wargames. Thus, it's VERY difficult to warp a fleet in at precisely the right place to annihilate half the fleet. Unless the ships are actively using ramming tactics, and no sane military would do that.

-The cloud of debris would not form, and the ricochet effect wouldn't happen due to aforementioned spacing out. One doesn't "ram" a ship and then SPIRAL off; that ship is absorbing most of the kinetic energy. Especially if it's a battleship.

-FTL drives do conserve momentum upon jumping, but conserving it at a speed relative to the object you are orbiting is, quite literally, suicide. It's extremely dangerous to be moving in real-space and engage FTL drives; and by moving, I mean relative to the body the ship is orbiting. Ships will generally stop moving relative to the planet (I.E hovering over a specific spot, not moving, then jumping). See next point;

-If we are in low orbit over the planet, that's extra suicide. Strong gravity seriously fucks up FTL navigation.

-One does not simply change destinations during FTL travel. You jump from point to point, there is no in-between maneuvering time.

-Precision warping is impossible. Intrasystem jumps can be precise to about a kilometer depending on where you jump from, while intersystem jumps, at best, vary by about 10 km on average. Ships jumping in the same motion will be off by the same amount. The farther away you're jumping from, the lower the precision. That's why ships jump in far from enemy fleets and approach on sublight; to avoid the very scenario you tried to do.

-Ships do not detonate as easily as you described, unless they're hit with a really powerful weapon that destabilizes reactors at best. They're not made of explodium.

-A debris field is not much of a problem for any half-decent ship of any military, since shields basically repel all smaller pieces and larger ship-sized pieces can be shot at or dodged, depending on the ship in question.

That's all my nitpicks. I think it would be best if we retconned what happened.

OOC: Fenway all ships are made of explodium, realistic ship deaths are boring.
Nah, the point of this battle on my end is just fuck up the AUFs fleet enough so everyone goes home and diplomacy can take over.
Ships can spiral off in space, if a charging ship rams another ship on its edge the other ship will rotate and take some momentum while the first ship will hinge on that point and keep going.

That can happen, but your ships weren't coming in in a way that would allow a collision like that.
