-Message to the NeoRoman Dominion-
//UNECRYPTED; PUBLIC BROADCAST//

Your apparently very loose control over your military worries me.

The NeoRoman Dominion has lost - literally - apparently a number of WarShips, control over a massively powerful superweapon, and an admiral in training.

Given your plague of misfortune, incompetence, or perhaps malice, my nation would like to request, for the safety of the galaxy and its inhabitants, that the NeoRoman Dominion physically disables any remaining superweapons or other, similar devices, until such time as you can resolve your recurring large-scale security problems.

Should you choose to continue using them in the face of this glaring issue, the Commonwealth will be forced to react our military and trade agreements with your nation.

OOC: Hierarchy, not dominion.

-Message to Novan Commonwealth-
//UNENCRYPTED BROADCAST//

I suppose everyone has to atone for their sins sometime.

As of this writing, we do not know the status of over 500 former military ships, ranging from frigates to dreadnoughts. These ships were officially destroyed during the Imperium war, but evidence points to them not being destroyed; it seems someone has gained access to them and is now actively using them against us. We do not know how they gained access.

The Singularity Installation, as you suggested, can be used as a super-weapon, yes. But it was never it's intended purpose. It was initially a research installation; an accident showed us it's power. And so we locked it away; at the time of it's construction, we simply could not dismantle it safely. We accept full responsibility for the heinous breach of security that lead to our loss of control.

The Hierarchy possesses only three other potential super-weapons. In no particular order, they are of follows;

The Aurora
Vortex Station
Antioch

Neither Vortex Station nor our capital, Antioch, are designed as superweapons. Vortex station only classifies because of the MQR's chaos emerald and because it contains a Singularity. Antioch classifies because the reactor that replaces it's core could take out several worlds if it destabilized significantly.

And the Aurora, well, uses an experimental Positronic Fusion Cannon, a recent addition. We acknowledge that it can destroy large portions of a planet. Obviously, it was not a proper course of action.

In light of other recent events, we feel that the NeoRoman Hierarchy is not fit to provide for and protect it's citizens, and the citizens of other nations here. And thus, we officially step down from the seat of power and relinquish control over all of our worlds and holdings in this galaxy, as well as withdraw from all galactic politics whatsoever.

Our military and government will retreat through a recently-completed jumpgate to NGC 1300, the Farable colonies, and there we will reside. Vortex station will be coming with us; all assets aboard it, such as the Chaos Emerald, that we do not control will be returned to their respective owners.

Our citizens may come with us if they wish, but it is their decision. The jumpgate will be open for one standard month, and after that time window, it will be destroyed. We are severing all contact and connections with the denizens of this sector.

Goodbye.

Some might say running from your problems is hardly atonement.

But in all honesty, I fail to see how an attempted escape will help; if these issues persist, you won't have an inhabited galaxy to threaten, but that does work both ways; you won't have any help, either.

While maintaining an embassy would be nigh-impossible, we will, to the best of our ability, maintain ansible communications with the Hierarchy.

Best of luck.

And who knows? Perhaps one day you'll get a visit from Distant Memory. Send Jahgrin my regards.

The Tajerian commander of all military forces Lexandrov Ilyich was sitting in his office admiring the digital wall screens showing him the skyline view of the capital 300 stories up, Of course his office was in an underground bunker deep beneath the capital building and the shmuck who actually had this view up top was probably the minister of janitors or something like that, Defiantly not as important as him. He glanced over at the Commonwealths rather public denouncement of the Neoroman hierarchy on his holoscreen, This would definitely cause some nasty repercussions in galactic politics surely, And of course it would probably all end up on his desk to sort out. "BREEEEEENG" He looked at his screen hurriedly, 'And here's the fallout, Who's declaring war on who now' he thought opening the letter from foreign affairs, but unlike other high level messages instead of sighing and grimacing he gained an almost sadistic gleeful smile that would surely have frozen some lower ranking rabble with fear if they had been in his sight. He slammed the call button to the council so hard the desk would probably lean to side forever from that day on. The screen came up and a voice said "Ilyich, What do you want" He rolled his eyes, Perhaps one day he could order mass genocide on a whim but for now he had to follow regulations, With a flick of his finger he sent the message to the council and said "The Neorome Hierarchy is apparently abandoning all their planets in their sector to leave to some far off colonies or whatnot, I suggest we mobilize Defense Condition One and try to capture as much of their abandoned territory as possible before the other empires in the area grab it first" The council representative on the screen looked conflicted for a moment before saying "You do know what kind of political backlash this could have if done ri-" Ilyich cut him off "Yes yes I know what repercussions this could have I still wish to go through with my submission, yes, yes, I agree, urgent, Heil Tajer and all that" The representative looked angry for a moment at being cut off and then said "Very well then, I will push this forward and have the council send you a decision" with that the screen shut off and Ilyich sighed 'Hrm I think were having those captured pirates pit-fight in three days, gonna have to reserve the best seats to watch it'. About half an hour latter the council representative reappeared on his desk screen and said "The council has given you permission to go ahead with your plan, You may divert 60% of military forces to assist in your plan" the screen cutout as the representative hanged up. Ilyich grinned and opened the Defense panel and placed his palm on the scanner, A plasma turret popped down from the ceiling and targeted him as the scanner did its work, if it decided it was not his glorious self then the plasma cannon would vaporize him instantly. The scanner beeped and said "Access granted, Full clearance engaged by council" A T-lever popped out of the desk and he grabbed it and dramatically thought 'Shame exciting things don't happen more often, I love using this lever' and yanked it down to the setting DC-1 throughout the base he heard the lovely sound of klaxons blaring the DF-1 pattern as he placed the defense panel back into its hole and called up military command the young officer on screen looked up and said "Sir!" Ilyich said "I want 60% of every seige and colony ship this side of the galactic center on path to the edge of Neorome space" as he again flicked the message to be sent to command also "I want this sent to every general in the fleet, They should know what to do" The officer said "Sir yes si-" Ilyich closed the message and pulled up Public relations, He didn't have time for formalities surely as he waited the other empires were scheming to take all that soon to be available land why he was held back with paperwork, The PR person on screen said "Yes?" Ilyich sent the message copy to him and said "I want this sent to every news station, Reserve stations will be opened soon and all reserve troops will receive a message on if they are to come or not" and with that he shut off the message and leaned back in his chair to relax while half the inner empire was running around with klaxons blaring. Yes today was a good day.

The Strigiforme have moved forces forward to several nearby systems to secure the worlds therein and prevent the onset of anarchy. Some military assets are en route to Antioch to prevent the breakdown of society there. The Strigiforme are also dedicating all shipyards to the construction of combat oriented ships.

Message to NeoRome

We regret your evacuation from the galaxy, and will allow transport with some military ships to the gate if the civilians request it. We will also be assuming some systems; rest assured the citizens living there will be protected by the Strigiforme.

End message

Just so you guys know, assuming NeoRome space is shaped like a circle, the Strigiforme are taking roughly a wedge with Antioch inside.

-News-

The Hierarchy's dissolution has been very clean and quick. NeoRome had already operated separately on a national and local level, and merely the main government structure has been swept away, leaving local governments and planetary governments intact. They have been able to keep running and operational without the Hierarchy so far, but this may change.

A surprising fraction of NeoRome's former military has deserted the government with a near 80% desertion rate; assets such as Vortex Station, which recently passed through the gate, were close to completely deserted upon arrival. The former military forces have taken up residence at their former worlds, becoming local militias that are defending the individual worlds. The Aurora, being under direct government control, did not desert, but a significant portion of it's crew elected to stay behind.

The government's dissolution has brought an alarming number of secrets to light, such as the Update Matrix. This matrix was responsible for updating the NeoRoman military programs constantly. The update hub has currently shut off. Another describes the government's involvement in the Lambda Leonis incident; the document describes that the government directly orchestrated and instigated the events there as part of an experiment.

It is not clear whether the former NeoRoman worlds will form a new nation or elect to join other nations; polls taken on some planets yield mixed results, though most citizens would be happy to join a sector government if asked.

At the edge of Neoroman space sat the Tajerian fleet assembled to take the abandoned teritory, Once Neorome announced its leaving they received orders from command to capture territory freely.
The fleet split off into four large groups and began assaulting various edge worlds the lower population and lack of any real main controlling body left the planets easy to capture, Planets were ordered to surrender all assets and territory to the Tajerian Technocracy, Those that didn't had their fleets obliterated by superior numbers and the planets captured by heavy assaults on their icecaps to raise the sea-levels massively and rending of their ozone layers by large ships flying through them causing the land below to bake from solar radiation or be drowned by flooding seawater, Some worlds where this option is not available are simply nuclear bombarded into submission.

Tajer assault fleets specs:
Spoiler:
30 Battlship class ships
70 carriers of various size (10 Large(100 fighters), 20 Medium(60 Fighters), 50 Small(40 Fighters)
-3500 fighters
163 cruisers
-60 Plantary bombarment cruisers
-50 Assault cruisers
-23 Support cruisers
-30 Troop transport cruisers
382 Fast-Retrofitted Trader ships (Various cruiser-pinance size civilian ships rearmed with military grade weapons, Result of Corporation-Government military reserve agreements, Also mostly lightly armed ships loaded with supplies for rebuilding/occupation)
25,000 Occupation soldiers
OOC: Your land, Give it to us, now.
I'm assuming since the main Neorome government left and the massive military abandonment, that most of them are confused messes of milita's easily steamrolled by organized goverments.

Did I mention that Tajer's are fine with executing people they deem rebels? Lots of bloody engagements due to rebels have left them rather uncaring of them.
