So ya, redoing NeoRome victory thingy and such, all that.

The second game will proceed in a couple of days (IRL). Note that the second game will be the last. Story wise, there's more of course, but I don't think I can decide 10+ games in such short time with so many players and ships.

BIC:
Cleanup of Antioch is going well. Approximately 25% of the debris from the Imperium war has been removed, and the city is beginning to rebuild. A mass memorial and remembrance service is scheduled to be held on all worlds tomorrow.

Darkstar has formally taken over approximately 40% of Holocene's assets. While an unusual move for the government, the move will help open up NeoRome to foreign corporations, which were dissuaded from operating within it for the past 50 years. This will also provide a much-needed boost to the economy.

The sector wargames have been a resounding success, and the second event is ongoing. The second event is an escort mission.

-L. Jahgrin's Office, Government HQ orbiting Antioch-
"I don't understand it," Jahgrin said, looking out the window into space.

"Understand what?" asked Krtiil, who was pacing behind him.

"Orion. What's going on with them."

"The signs are obvious. Rapid military buildup."

"But we don't have direct evidence to make accusations." Jahgrin turned around. "If we do anything obviously everyone will be against us."

"Then do it silently. Prepare all possible wartime scenarios. Mobilize troops and make sure we can defend ourselves. The last war was a joke. Make sure this one isn't."

Goliath cruisers are being built as main priority.
The necessity of heavy combat ships is the prime factor, over 70% of the military resources are going to the construction of this kind of ship

//MESSAGE TO NEOROME\\

We would like to have the permission to build free trade stations on your system. We believe that this could boost economical growth, just think about it : freelance miners selling ores, weary travellers passing by and enjoying the confortable hotels. This could generate some income if they are constructed in major trading routes. Darkstar could build and staff the stations, with your supervision.

Spoiler:
A typical Darkstar station used throughout the Darkstar territory. Developed by Darkstar over many years, this space station provide the highest standards of both comfort and technology. Each station is fitted with bars, restaurants, casinos, holographic cinemas and accommodation. They are fine rest and recreation centres and serve as excelent trading hubs, equipped with a big "marketplace" with individual cabins were traders could show their wares . The station is equipped with civilian grade shields to protect against potential space debris

The Commonwealth will do what their ships are best at - forming into hunting groups (one around each battlecarrier) and using mass-fire on single targets to take them down fast. Fighters will be used as scouts and defensive screens. Flak and PD will both be used to shield friendly vessels.

- - -
The colony in Andromeda has reported oddities; when contacting one of the races the MQR discovered, they mentioned the Aurelia in passing; the other species' response was "excessively violent, with comments about what seems to be events that occurred several thousand years ago."

Investigations and inquiries are underway.

-NeoRoman Broadcast-

A large portion of the NeoRoman military, including Battle fleet's 4 through 10, are being mobilized for purposes unknown. Reports indicate that they are headed towards lightly-defended NeoRoman border worlds, but this is purely speculatory, and the government has declined to offer an explanation.

-Wargame update-

The Aurora and the Colossus will face off against each other during this battle, near the battlefield.

-NEOROMAN TACTICS-

The battle fleets will all form together and form a defensive wall, with the strongest ships in the back. Plasma flak and lasers will form defensive screens to block out enemy vision and confuse them as to the exact positions of NeoRoman ships, while Fusion Coil Splicers will be focused-fired to bring down enemy ships. Priority is given to larger ships of more immediate threat.

The Strigiforme will act as a single group, forming around the carrier group. The various ships will be evenly distributed, and the Strigiforme battlegroup will hunt down enemy ships, using their shield ships to block initial barrages and dropping them to return fire.

The carrier fleet will divide up their ships for close support, attacking only to retaliate, while the dreadnought is provided extensive corvette coverage while it and the majority of cruisers form a loose phalanx, the remaining ~40% of the frigates and cruisers will act as they see fit, with standing orders to provide rear coverage to the phalanx.

Darkstar ships will provide support for the allied fleets, giving a wide sensor coverage for a better target uplink.Fighters and Bombers will fire TAG missiles linked with allied weapon systems . Some ships will cover the flanks with GARDIAN to protect against torpedoes and the such.
Frigates will intercept ships that are too close in wolfpacks and artillery frigates will position behind the main fleets to pick troublesome enemies. Last resort action : Stealth systems will be converted on a heavy shield, and ships will go "Kamikaze" unleashing all weapons at close range on enemy ships.

The bulk of the Darkstar fleet will be outside of weapon range, divided in small wolfpacks of 3 to 4 frigates to protect the main fleets against enemy surprise attacks.

The MQR has announced plans to triple their spy defense budget. Questions about the reason for this have been answered with there being "suspicions of GSI members spying on internal affairs of the MQR and Novus". No specific factions have been named to prevent diplomatic incidents.

Wargames strategy:
Spoiler:
The 3rd Fleet will split itself in two groups, the first consisting of the Typhoons, the second of everything else. The Typhoons will use hit-and-run attacks and jump away into the direction of the third team, attempting to lure the opposing forces towards each other in addition to taking down their ships. These attacks will however be focused on Team-1 forces. Team-3 non-Strigiforme forces that do not have protection form a nearby Strigiforme shield-ship may also be attacked, although not the focus, as breaking through ANY Strigiforme shields with a single strike would propably not work.
The 2nd group will support the dispatched part of the 1st fleet, which will be the core of the fleet, in various ways. The Halberds will use their spinal cannons to act as a spearhead and dish out massive ammounts of demage in the early phases of combat. The Crimson-class missile frigates will stand back and act as long-range fire support. The Freedom-pinnaces will attempt to break through enemy fighter screens that may block missiles or bomber strikecraft from attacking the enemy. the Minor-Ps will put psionic pressure on enemies, aiming to reduce the combat effectiveness of the crew. They will also deploy psionic countermeasures should anyone else decide to use any psionics. Finally, the agile Fox-class frigates will aim to defend the main fleet from hit-and-run attacks.
The dispatch of the 1st Fleet will, as previously mentioned, be the core of the fleet. Their main function will be to constantly throw firepower at the enemy fleet. This job will mainly be done by the Mobocarrier and Manta classes, while the Sawfish and Mako-class will mostly protect the fleet from enemy strikecraft and missiles. However, two battlegroups (1 Sawfish and 5 Makos each) will actively move close to the enemy fleet and aim to take down their fighter screens should the Freedom-class be insufficient. Finally, once the enemy fighter screen is destroyed or at least considerably weakened, the drones of the Mobocarriers and Sawfishs will team up with the bombers carried by the Halberds and Typhoons (which will stop their hit-and-run tactics on other forces as soon as a fight involving the main fleet breaks out and try to attack the enemy from behind or another direction left fairly weak by their formation; it is assumed they will have arrived by the time the fighter screen is removed) in order to directly attack the enemy fleet. This swarm of anti-ship strikecraft should be able to deal considerable demage.
Also, at no point will any ship waste any power or ammunition trying to break through a Strigiforme shield ship's shield. It is known that they can't fire out of it, so the fleet will just prepare for the moment they turn them back off, or focus on any other present enemy forces not inside the shield.

META: Novan counterintelligence has been stepped up.

Nonmeta: Investigations into tje Andromedan species contacted previously has turned up results, available with this message.

While the Star Guards are occupied at the wargames, Pegasus, along with one of the new EWAR frigates (henceforth dubbed Valkyrie-X) has been reassigned to the Long Reach fleet.

A Novan broadcaster has (against reccomendations) set up a small relay station on the edge of Commonwealth space, and appears to be transmitting various Novan, NeoRoman and other assorted entertainment towards Strigiforme space via HyperPulse communications.

META: NeoRoman border patrols increased. Psionic countermeasures implemented in every major government installation and ship.

-Message to: Darkstar-

Negative, we already have a multitude of large stations throughout NeoRoman territory for that purpose. Very few were damaged in the war; they are still usable.
-END-

Orion Strategy:

The fleet will spread out near the NeoRoman fleet and return fire on the heaviest ships, while simultaneously forming a sort of weaving blockade in order to evenly spread damage around the fleet.

MQR officials have corrected a previous statement, saying "No, we are not tripleing out counter-intelligence budget. While we are significantly increasing it, tripleing would be a major overreaction. We do not know where the official that made the statement in the first place got those numbers from."

The Tajerian war-game fleet will refrain from participating in this match due to fleet size making it highly pointless to try.
