After a brief moment of confusion, Skra noticed the slight glint of a cloaking device, which was deactivated. A rather young man stood there, scrutinizing him. Skra looked back at him and wanted to say something, but the man was faster.
"I don't know if you understand me." said the man.
Skra replied mental: "Yes, I do, my name is Skra"
The man didn't seem to understand. Instead he said:
"I'm not your enemy, and if you are against the Republic, I'm on your side."
The man must have used something like a Parablock. Skra tried to communicate with him again, but this time he focused him and thought with more strenth:
"My name is Skra, thanks for helping me, but could you tell me your name, please?"
This time the man seemed to understand, although he seemed like he didn't want to.
"My name is Demivian," said the man.
Skra stayed focused on Demivian and said:
"I owe you something you know that? And I think that we should move away from here now, in case some of the soldiers come up here to search for me. If your cloaking device doesn't work while you move, then I have a solution. And when I come to think of it, it would be better if we use it both, it might work better this way."
"What do you mean?" asked Demivian.
"I have created a special cloaking method, back when I used to steal to survive. I call them Parapolarizers. They do not make you invisible, but they make it impossible for others to notice you, by making them ignore you without them knowing." As Skra said this he used his ear-hands to pull out two amber-colored and drop-shaped objects. He gave one of them to Demivian, who eyed them suspiciously.
"It will take a few seconds before they work, you'll know it when you feel a bit dizzy."
Skra didn't notice, that he was still staring at Demivian, and Demivian did not seem to feel confident about this.

Vaguely amused by the sudden firefighting, Val dropped from her tree, drawing her weapons. Spotting a local thug swinging his sword menacingly, she deposited several shots into his face - the look of surprise was priceless - and moved off towards the center of town, dropping more gangers as she went.

A hit under the right temple, another to the shoulder. The shards of Jaime's face mask were peppered with blood, his arm almost completely severed. Still alive, but only just. Chances of survival were minimal. Taarakra extracted a canister of biofoam from a hip compartment and hurriedly sprayed its contents into the wounds. He geotagged the location for recovery and continued through the town. He heard the whir of several other craft: the second, third, and fourth gunboats unloading their teams.

"Man down. Medical evac as soon as possible at these coordinates. The SR has marksmen on the rooftops."

Through the sounds of erratic firefights, Taarakra heard the rattle of one of the gunships' rotary cannons tearing into a roof. He exited the alleyway into a street which was inhabited by several Strigiforme Special Ops troops. Without breaking stride, he slung his rifle over his shoulder and sent several AP rounds into one of the more distant soldiers. He then lashed out with the weapon and felt the sickening sensation of flesh giving way to the bayonet's edge. Quickly drawing the rifle up, he pitched the flailing body of the impaled human into one of its comrades, then pumped a few more rounds into those remaining. He kept walking through the fresh carnage.

He ran at the side of a building and drove his foot into the ground, sending energy into the soil which was met with an upward punch, which he used to propel himself onto the roof. The column of soil collapsed as he sprinted over the rooftop and vaulted into the town's square. A few isolated firefights were taking place between SR troops and members of the local gang that Villa's forces had hired. Through the din, Taarakra heard a somewhat familiar voice.

"Valereia?"

Demivian took a look at the object and shook his head, feeling a bit of anger rising up. He attempted to dismiss it and gave the object back. "Negative, my cloaking device will work well." He reactivated the cloaking device before looking over the wall. He spotted a tower near the center of town and crouched down again, deactivating the device. "I'm on a mission, so I can't leave. I'm going to move to the tower," he said, pointing to it. "You're welcome to come along, but none of that magic crap around me." As he said this, a gunship approached from the south, seemingly headed towards the tower. Demivian activated his cloaking and gravity manipulation gauntlets and leaped onto the side as it passed, barely registering upon it.

Kyr was still flying around the area, and would continue to for some time. He and a few other snipers had spotted some sort of transport vehicle, and once it came into effective range, their gyrodyne, the Nyycel, had started firing at then with a few AGMs and magic rays. They couldn't, however, directly target the gang members due to the high risk of collateral damage and civilian deaths. The Strigiforme wanted a clean operation. So far it had been a major success, with many gang members dead, disabled, and captured. Some light casualties had been sustained, but nothing unexpected.

Kyr had been taking potshots at exposed insurgents for all this time, but had yet to see the target.

Ascending to the nearest rooftop, val paused to take in the sights. Firefights were everywhere; Republic troops, gangs, rebels, all of the above. Taking aim, she dropped another ganger, pausing when she heard someone shouting.

"Taarakra? The hell...?"

Dropping to the ground, she moved towards the source of the yell. Turning a corner, she came face-to-face with a rebel, rifle raised; bringing her own guns up, they stared at each other, frozen.

"Taara... nice to see you again."

Syrtho being a medic sat back at a camouflaged camp on a hill overlooking the town, Hearing the sounds of gunshots from the town alerted the start of a gun fight. Pacing around waiting for some idiot to get shot so he could do his job his foot hit something and he looked down to see a rocket launcher just laying in the middle of the grass. "What idio left this here?" He said picking it up, 'I'm gonna go put this with the rest of the guns so some idiot doesn't set it off' he thought walking towards the gun tent to store it safely, unfortunately nature had other plans and decided to put a small unprovable rock in the tall grass causing him to trip and fall on the rocket launcher accidentally firing it off in the distance 'Crap the captains going to be tick at me' he thought watching it fly of into the distance wildly untargetted only to smash into the back end of the republic airship and puncture the balloon and causing the airship to start dropping rapidly towards the town 'Fuck the captains going to be really tick at me!' He thought getting up quickly and running towards the command tent to tell everyone to get the fuck out of here.

Combat detected. Hostiles detected, identifying... Strigiforme, Republic. Best course of action? Escape. Ligion bolted from the mass of fallen combatants, they never stood a chance, some of them were probably dead even, but he hadn't had the time to check. The back door burst from its hinges and fells to the ground, he quickly surveyed the immediate area, nothing very dangerous. He began to creep along the sides to see if there was any vehicle he could use. Searching... Searching... Armed patrol vehicle identified, patterns match classification "Gunboat". Checking for prying eyes, Ligionadas hopped into the pilot's seat and fired up the engines. A few stray shots hit the area, Damage sustained, localizing..., the small ship began to take off towards a small group of 'runners just over a nearby ridge a couple clicks east.

Ya... also a rocket launcher should NEVER fire from being dropped. No gun should fire from being dropped, ESPECIALLY in the future. I'm gonna pretend that didn't happen for now.

BIC:

While riding the small gunship to the center of town, a small communique came through on his headset. "Demivian, respond!" He activated the channel.

"Responding. What the hell do you need me for Zane?" he responded.

"Officer jerkass is dead. Got himself shot in the face."

"Good riddance."

"Oh, and we're also being shot at." Demivian sighed.

"Dammit Zane. Where are you and who's shooting?"

"Republic spec-ops. Apparently they think we're protecting the gang leader. We're right by the town square, north side, small street."

"I'll save your asses." Demivian deactivated the cloaking field and moved forward onto the gunship, which had begun to hover. It was obviously not republic- probably the gang's. He entered the loading area and opened the cockpit, and the pilot looked back at him. A look of confusion before the pilot noticed the insignia on his armor.

"You're not..." the pilot began. Demivian interrupted him.

"No we're not, and we need this gunship. Go that way." he pointed towards the main plaza. The gunship turned towards the plaza where the squad was pinned, and Demivian grabbed the plasma cannon and raised it. "I want you to hover me right over the Strigiforme bastards." The pilot nodded; he seemed to realize that the Alliance wasn't after them. As the gunship approached, Demivian saw the group of Strigiforme who were shooting at the squad; all hiding on a building or behind a small wall. He raised the cannon and fired, sending a green plasma bolt directly onto the west side building on the street, blasting it apart and sending the soldier on it flying,

And no army or milita future or not would let a fucking emotionally traumatized anti-social psychopath with anger management issues so high he needs an implant to avoid killing everything in a front line squad, at most maybe a white padded cell in a R&D lab. But yet, you question falling on a rocket launcher setting it off?

1) The odds of a random shot hitting are pretty low.
2) Nobody leaves a rocket launcher (funtional or otherwise) just lying around.
3) It wouldn't fire unless you disengaged the safeties, so no, you didn't shoot down the gyrodyne.

A gyrodyne is very different, because it is the bastard child of a plane and a helicopter. Therefore, hitting a wing just means it becomes a helicopter.

Crouching, Taarakra was at eye level with the Aurelian. He held his weapon, unshouldered, in her general direction. "Mmhm. It's been a while."

Another pause, broken by Taarakra shifting his gun's muzzle away from Val. He listened to an incoming communique. One of the gunboat pilots that hadn't left the area. "C-P to A-2. You there? Ah, looks like we made a few friends. Northerners, I think... Aye! Mier--" The radio cut out for a few seconds at the same time a distant tower was illuminated with a stream of plasma bolts. "Well, pretty good at killing Republic..."

He turned his attention back to Val. "A small-time gang? Unlike you." She said.

"Its roots are much deeper."

Val raised an eyebrow.

Taarakra noticed a measured movement among the chaos beyond her and slowly took aim. "Deep enough to pay well." He fired. The HE round made a sizable hole in the strigiforme's torso.
