The Redclaw prototypes are being studied and upgraded by the Darkstar Scientists. The Wan Shin Tong proved to be too expensive for a fighter weapon. So tests are on-going to change the weapon to the HX-Firestorm pulse gun, a xaser weapon, firing an intense, highly focused beam of x-ray emissions.

The set for the standard Darkstar operative is something like this.

The armor has 3 layers [A hard layer of a kevlar-like material,a second layer of dense polymer and a third of kinetic padding,to absorb impact,as well as a micro life support system to close wonds on-site]

The weapon is the new XL3-Warrior,a assault rifle that has been tested in many worlds. It has nothing special,but is cheap and durable,sharing some traits with the legendary AK-74 of ancient times.

REsearch : Ongoing on the cruiser. Civillian research is being conducted in direction of mining: better ways to refine materials,to produce more resources.

The council today announced that Vortex station, the headquarters for the GSA, has been fully completed and is awaiting the first shipment of materials to begin research. Construction was significantly delayed by the Imperium war, as multiple modules set for the station were destroyed, but construction proceeded at full speed after the conclusion of the war.

Vortex station houses the massive 10 km Gravimetric Particle Accelerator, the largest particle accelerator ever built by NeoRome. The station will open to the sector's scientists in the coming days.

The Strigiforme are reinforcing the Serpentis system. The new defences have yet to be specified, but will likely consist of some long range missile platforms and gauss platforms. Construction project is 15% complete. Additionally, the Strigiforme are nearing the halfway mark on the construction of a new battlefleet, and the Council has commissioned 2 more to be built.

On Menya, the Cultists have set up covert STSM sites around their yet-undiscovered mountain base. These sites are very much invisible from orbit, and their sheer numbers could eliminate a ship even if it had CIWS and shields up.

Fen, the construction site is deep in the Strigiforme Empire. Like, deep deep. Also, if anyone is wondering what I'm building up for here, it's to make you have to take the mountain site with ground forces.

With several cultist sites near the mountain range eliminated, dropships with fighter cover are bringing down troops. Addittionally, the MacArthur has descended into the atmosphere, and is patrolling over the liberation forces.

Some haggling between government departments has accelerated the new battlecarriers to 2 years, taking 4 months off the estimated time.

"We can't afford to lose any of that equipment, if we wanted more we'd need to ask for it, and I doubt they'd let that happen without a good reason, and 'We want it for our new secret super ships" isn't one I'm willing to present. That's final. So how's integration been going?"
"Very well if I say so, the NeoRomans seamlessly imported the tech into our own systems, it's just a matter of software from this point on."

At Hexalan: Remember than NeoRome basically has self-destruction protocols for tech if it is taken apart without proper authorization, so you're going to have a tough time figuring it out.

Aboard Omniscient Eye

"Sir, we have a contact." Farlin stood up and half walked, half jogged to the officer at the front of the bridge. The sensor map was up- one of the mountain ranges was on screen. On it, a blip was occasionally dropping in and out of view, in various locations. Something was there. Farlin narrowed his eyes before turning to the officer.

"We know no ground forces are there and I'm not risking the ship. Pull us out of orbit and get our destroyers to bombard the entire site from orbit. After that, we'll sweep the area again. Nuclear weapons are authorized."

"Yes sir." After a second or two, the engines and shields came back online and the ship pulled out of orbit.

The Cultists on the ground had prepared dozens of missile sites. They fully expected a strike from low orbit by enemy ships, and would take out at least one before dying. All there were prepared to martyr themselves for their cause, having built a hidden bunker far away, hidden deep underground, full of their families. One day, they would return to bring their goddess to the surface again. The fighters in the mountain were now always on watch, hoping to draw away attention from other places.

MacArthur was ordered into the mountain ranges - not inside the nuclear blast range, but within the cultists' suspected area of operations.

Staying below the ridgelines, the 120-meter vessel prowled, gunners alert for any hostiles and point defenses ready to serve as makeshift antipersonnel weapons.

In orbot, the actual Prowler Apocrypha decloaked, dumping coolant and preparing to conduct orbital strikes if necessary.

Having nearly finished mopping up the bunkers ordered, ground forces clearing out what's left, all 4 Campaigns are ready to perform orbital strikes.

Weaponrs : 13 x 150mm railcannons at each side for broadside combat. Spinal mounted 500mm railgun. 4x flak batteries at each side. GARDIAN system [Computer oriented laser defense.INtercept missiles and destroy incoming fighters] , passive sensor stealth.

The Midway is a cheap medium cruiser. The design was made specially to be easy-to-build,using a modular design and weapon racks capable of mounting many kinds of weapon. The hull is made of hyper-dense alloy,capable of receiving weapon hits with ease,and boiling away at DEW [Direct Energy Weapon] attacks. Not being sluggish,or insanely fast,the Midway can cover the gap between light and heavy cruiser.

There are two kinds of it. The Midway is the Orion Confederation exclusive . Using the same hull,but with a different funcionality,the Darkstar version will be called Daniken-class command cruiser.

Civilian research on minerals is going well. Using special magnets,the extraction of metal will be at least 20% better,improving resource aquisition from asteroid mining.

We have uncovered a possible underground bunker hidden in the mountains of Menya, northern hemisphere. We request authorization to deploy nuclear bunker-buster warheads in the immediate area to destroy the bunker, as we aren't completely sure of it's location due to sensor interference.

The warheads will explode underground and are rated at 5 Megatons each. Little to no fallout will be released by the warheads, as it will be contained by the underground blast.

The N.R.S Diablo's Sword maneuvered into position just above the aforementioned site, priming the missile charges. Heaven's Gate was a kilometer or two away, priming a similar set of charges. Nuclear charges, each about 5 megatons, were fitted on the two ship's extensive missile racks. Each was designed to penetrate the ground before detonating, orbital bunker busters.

Farlin monitored the positions of both ships from afar. From this distance, the Omniscient Eye could monitor them, and part of the ground, but otherwise, they were blind. Farlin opened up the coded channel and pressed a few keys. "Status report?" he asked.

"Diablo's Sword is in position sir," replied an officer over the channel.

"Heaven's Gate is arriving... now," said another, over the channel.

"Excellent." Farlin paused. "Launch the charges on my mark." Farlin turned towards the digital clock on the wall. "Now," he relayed as the clock ticked over to the next hour.

Each ship rumbled as the ships unloaded their payloads, 20 missiles each. Their plan was to saturate the immediate area with nuclear fire; it would, of course, be contained by the rock they exploded in. Airbursts were not expected, but if the missiles failed to remain operational after reaching their target area, they would detonate. It was hardwired to do so. Only a complete device failure would prevent their detonation now.

The two ships lingered in orbit, following the path of the projectiles as they entered the atmosphere, sleek bullets that would keep most of their orbital momentum intact.
