Ground troops have discovered multiple bunkers near former cultist settlements. Orbital bombardment has been ordered once the troops have evacuated the area.
3 groups of 5 atmospheric AI fighters have been deployed, armed with standard light plasma cannons and breaching missiles. Their job is to scout for possible bunkers, destroy settlements, and kill any cultists they find.
Strategic experts claim that the fight is nearly over, but we shouldn't relax or send around congratulations until the job is done.

The debris field from the destroyed pirates drifted down to the planet's surface. Among the rubble were some 120 black canisters. A little under half had been lost, but this was expected, and so many of them were sent to compensate. The canisters, which had been slowly maneuvering to land at certain points, began falling through the atmosphere, their ablative protecting them from re-entry damage.

Soon, they impacted the surface, landing a few hundred feet from known installations. Some of them landed near hostile troops, but they didn't really notice them, as they were merely bits of space debris. Those that landed near undiscovered Cultist bases were successfully recovered, giving the Cultists much needed heavy weaponry. Among the contents of the canisters were antiaircraft missiles, armoured fighting vehicles, a few more surface-to-space rockets, and small amounts of nerve gas, along with armoured NBC(Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) suits.

Shock troops are trained never to discount possibilities. When a canister landed near them, the investigated it. Inside, they found nerve gas and surface-to-space missiles. They quickly relayed the info to the Confederate frigate, who relayed it to the rest of the fleet.

That's definitely metaknowledge. These are burning hot disfigured chunks of metal. Not only would they only contain one thing each(nerve gas canisters and STSMs are both large), but also they are descending from orbit and are fused shut. They have no door or opening, and have to be broken open to access them. Shock troops are not trained to be detectives, they're trained to kill people.

Recieving the locations of a number of discovered bunkers, the Cavalier is employing ground-strike missiles. These are expected to cleanly emilinate most of the discovered emplacements.

The Cultists have moved many resources, notably all STSMs, to a mountain bunker, which has not yet been found. They have 2 undiscovered bikers left, 1 of which will be sealed shortly to protect a large portion of the Cultist population for a time. The other will(meta: you'll find it soon) be their military strongpoint, as it is in a mountain, rendering missile strikes ineffective, with the only possibility being a direct MAC strike from low orbit. Fortunately, there can only be 1 ship striking it, as there are 3 other sites like this.

Admiral Farlin sighed as he looked outside the bridge at the planet below. "Any luck getting the sensor feed?" he asked.

"No," responded the officer, standing next to him. "Too much psionic interference from both the planet and the Novan psionic jammer."

"What if we disabled the jammer?"

"We may be able to perform limited sweeps on the planet from here."

"Couldn't we move closer? Eliminate the jammer interference?

"It depends on our range."

"Range? How low do we need to be?"

"Low orbit." Farlin sighed. "And what of enemy resistance?"

"From monitoring the Hexalan internal security net, we anticipate nothing on the surface capable of striking our ship with enough power to destabilize the sensor."

"We'll detonate explosively if they do."

"They don't, I assure you. Look at the intelligence if you must." Farlin sighed.

"Alright. Take us into low orbit and begin the sensor sweep. Focus on areas which have a high probability of concealing a base; forests, mountains, canyons. We'll start in the northern hemisphere."

"Yes sir." After a few moments, the ship vanished into subspace and reappeared over the planet. The shield went down, the engines cut, and the various antennas and dishes mounted on the ship began their sweep.

The joint training is going great. Many Confed Troopers and Darkstar Operatives were together in other campaigns,so friendship was on the rise. Training ammo was being distributed to the ships for some skirmish,and target drones issued to test the weapons and sharp the gunners of both fleets.

The Admiral in charge of the 1st Fleet, Admiral Traxin, boarded his shuttle and flew out of the dreadnought Phantom Vanguard. The shuttle docked with the Reprisal class fleet carrier Blinding Fury. This was the carrier which had received the Aesir and Redclaw prototypes. He asked the tech officer, "So? What do you make of them?" "They're much better than our Gladius fighters and Sabre bombers, and they're lightyears better than the Warthogs. Hell, that ancient model should have been retired 8 years ago." Traxin nodded, then said, "Darkstar wants us to evaluate them. I'm going to the bridge."

Chancellor Yiet wanted assets, and he knew where to look. He contacted Deep Space 1. "Activate Project Blackstar, and bring it up to speed." He next called the Director of Research and Development, "I want a new dreadnought class. Completely new, not retrofitted. Same goes for heavy cruisers and light cruisers. I also want a new weapon to go along with them" "Yes sir," came the reply.

The Redclaw is a new kind of fighter.His special sleek design,and the special kind of ablative that cover it,gives him passive stealth to common DRADIS. Being Multi-Role,it can fly on atmosphere and space with equal efficiency. The bigger engine section gives him the necessary speed to intercept or to hit-e-run bigger ships.

The new Wan Shin Tong is a special kind of weapon. Power Hungry and very salty in terms of price,its a powerful addition. Emits focused waves of subatomic particles that bombard its target. Impact causes the wave function of the particles to collapse and emit extremely intense, zero-point energy microbursts. Standard policy dictates that weapons of this magnitude be mounted only on bombers,but a "micro" version of it is being worked for fighters,so it will be mounted on the Redclaw.

The Aesir is a formidable bomber. Fast,with the engines taking a big part of his hull. With a special kind of ablative,it cannot be detected by normal DRADIS,except when carrying nuclear explosives. The Aesir can operate both in space and on air and can be docked directly on the hull of any ship with a magnetic lock on the lower section,making it "carrier capable".

Military budget is being raised by 24%. Objective : outfit the operatives with new or retrofitted equipment [New assault rifle and uniform]

Opening of the Darkstar Academy of Officers [DAO],bringing more proffissionalism to officers of the fleet.

Chancellor Yiet had just received word that Project Blackstar was ready for use. He sent word back to Deep Space 1, "Keep it on alert." Then the shadow figure appeared again, "When will you use Blackstar?" Yiet sighed, "There is no use for it. You also have to be more careful than you are now. I want you to go to Deep Space 1." The shadow figure smirked and said, "Who are you to order me around? At any rate, I was planning on traveling there anyway." Chancellor Yiet gave a small smile and said, "I'll call a shuttle from the Praetorian Guard to take you there. Just don't slip up and call them the Imperial Guard."
