Guess who supposedly supported Hitler in WW2, proving the last claim wrong? Guess who tells people to worship "saints" instead of God? The Pope. I can't stand the Catholic Church.
CMA I'm interested in hearing your thoughts here. Is this drivel or..?
Protestant/10. Hold on, I'm busy.

First of all, the Pope commissioned Saint Athanasius to codify the many different texts people had left over. There was the septuagent, the letters the apostles had sent, the Torah(?), and a bunch of others. These were all compiled and translated into Latin -- the most commonly spoken tongue at that time -- and distributed as well as any book could have been among the Nicene Church(Maybe just the Roman Patriarchate). So, the Bible contains a lot of things, it's not all literally infallible. Hell, half of Genesis(or the book after) is just a list of family names, the biggest point of Genesis is to differentiate Yahweh from the other gods of that region, by explicitly declaring him a creator, whereas all pagan gods I know of(other than possibly the Zoroastrians, but that seems to be almost-judaism anyway) are basically immortal superheros. I don't have any sources for this, but I'm 99% sure it's correct, and neither does Kobialka, so I'll leave it at this.

Part 2 coming soon.

Also, plenty of stuff in the bible has been proven. That the world is round, for instance.
Kobialka wrote:and guess whose making tons of money off it?
Publishers? I dunno. If you mean who takes in the money voluntarily given in tithes, then the Church, which still does the most amount of charity of any organization in the world, and it's made of humans(physically) like anything else, so I don't see the problem here. As for the Hitler thing, it's pretty much irrelevant, the only official agreement National Socialist Germany ever had with the Vatican was a non-aggression pact, which makes sense I think.
Kobialka wrote:Guess who claims to speak to God?
The Apostles? The occasional saint? Praying is not like having a miraculous vision, it's a very subtle, complex thing a lot of the time and the Church certainly doesn't lay claim to it, not sure what you mean here.
Kobialka wrote:Guess who tells people to worship "saints" instead of God? The Pope.
Lol, that's pretty much completely wrong, in every way I can read it. Who taught you this stuff?

Not really, how do you mean? The closest thing I could think of to a theological anti-hero would be Satan, and that's just 'cause he's edgy, evil, and doesn't listen to anyone but himself.

Himself and death metalblack metal. Or was it the other way around?
Anyway, he seems like he's probably just a misunderstood, spoiled, and to an extent sadistic teen. Would the circumstances be different I'm sure he'd be a nice guy to be around with.

Edit: I meant black metal, sorry for the inconvenience.

I always thought Satan listened to whiny emo-rock, if anything. What he is, is selfish. There's a certain truth to that quote that 'country metal is the most satanic music there is.' It's whiny and egotistical, a lot of the time.

An if you think about it, if Noah saved only two animals and his family, where did plants come from? And doesn't that mean everything is inbred now?

I'm sticking to my theory that religion is a government population control program.
First of all, no one has taken Genesis literally since the 4th century. Second of all, who ever said he cared more about one person or another? I don't see much of an argument here, other than 'bad things happen, why does God allow them?' which is probably the oldest thing ever.

Also, lol @ 'government population control,' have you ever seen a non-C&E Catholic family?
Yes I have, I know at least off the top of my head two right now.

So maybe the Catholic church doesn't "worship" saints like they do God, but they still pray to them, all the time, as if they had divine power. It says nothing about "saints" in the Bible. Totally completely made up.

Prayer in the sense of communication. Saints are on better terms with God than the rest of us sinners, why wouldn't you ask them to help? Also, it mentions praying for the dead a couple of times, and Saints are -- by definition -- just people in heaven, which the Bible says is something that's going to happen more times than I can count. If you want to argue about the bible, why did Luther cut out 6 or 7 books?

There was no Vatican inquisition, it was a secular thing set up by various states that hired(not the right word, but whatever) clergy to root out false converts.
