Re: FC content pack flan's [SUPERTHREADNAUGHT]
ok, while I wait for some other things, I've started a hyperrealism test (by MC standards that is) will let you know how it turns out.

A hyperrealism test? What is it testing?

Don't tell anybody, but to this day I have a faint hope for Futurecraft, or something similar to it, to happen. Within my lifetime.

How much detail I can cram into a tiny space.

Re: FC content pack flan's [SUPERTHREADNAUGHT]
IKR. If only there was an option to disable rendering players inside a vehicle, then you could turn into one of these and cause chaos.
I've also finished most of the Techne side of my little experiment:

The idea is I want to see if it is worth using a different scale to make the gun models, I can cram a tonne more detail in, but it takes a lot longer.
This L85 I've done has 100 parts, and I'm yet to do the scope, I'm going to get it working and the shapes done in MCP, if I find the end result is worth the extra time spent, then I'll swap to using this scaling.
also it's proportionally exact, minus a few exceptions, but then again I am very familiar with the design.
This won't be in the pack, I'll probably give it to LabJac or CTM for their packs, but I'll keep the method.

Does the player shrink with the model? If so, you could probably hide Steve in the chest or something where he can't be seen.NotPrototype wrote:IKR. If only there was an option to disable rendering players inside a vehicle, then you could turn into one of these and cause chaos.

Nah, Player stays the same scale, otherwise I'd have done this already. Might get War_Monger to give Flan the idea.Kzin wrote:Does the player shrink with the model? Alternatively you can use invisibility potions.

Re: FC content pack flan's [SUPERTHREADNAUGHT]
Ok, test model done:

So while the level of detail on this is pretty high, it also took way too long, and when you are using it in first person you don't really see all the detail, I mean I modelled the pins that hold the body together, and you can barely see them. And I mean I know this design very well, it's going to be difficult to do an original design to the same standard.
That said I think I will stick with using this scale, but I perhaps won't use the same level of detail seen here.
I'll texture this and give it to someone who can use it.

That is 2000's FPS level detail.
Well done.

Interesting. *takes note to add more detail to all designs*

If you could hide steve I'd make that mech about the size of a mob head and go rampant.NotPrototype wrote:Was tick around with ModelScale... this happened.

I just realized how much we need that mech in miniature size as a pet in the finished mod.

I agree, we need infantry bots too after all.
Tho the Omega might be better suited for that role.
