-_-
I dont want to draw box weapons. Detailed, highly-faceted vehicles are one thing, but i think proto is capable of simplifying these himself. They're mostly a series of boxes already anyway, and most of the curved pieces can be substituted with one or two prisms. One of the spikes on the front of the flamer can just be one long box.the finger indentions on the grip don't even have to be modeled, they could just be textured.

Re: FC content pack flan's [SUPERTHREADNAUGHT]
There's boxes, then there's fucking sonic the hedgehog stapled to the front, I'm not even going to attempt that, I could substitute it for a less ridiculous guard.
I understand you want it unique and original, but there's a limit.
However I think I need a shotgun type weapon before we go near flamethrowers. But any flamethrower will be called the toaster. Not debatable, only possible alternative is the dolphinator.
I think I have a better design for the rail sniper however (think MG Rex's rail gun on a small scale and fit for human utilage) but I'd like to see what you come up with, I also cannot draw it for shit so it would end up going straight to the model.

Its functional piece that adds to form, something that all of your designs lack. Look at every successful science fiction game franchise ever made, you'll notice that the designs are actually interesting, meaning that they have aspects that go beyond what is expected. I see you would rather take CoD and rename the weapons in an attempt to make them more "futuristic", I guess that isn't too far from taking nearly every single piece of inspiration from a second-rate videogame franchise.

Ugh, I'm sorry, that was a low blow. It shouldn't have been said but it was and I apologize, I won't go back on it but still it was an asshole move. I've been under high stress because exams are in less than a month and I have tons of shit to do and I've been going through a lot in my personal life, so ive been snappish lately.

Re: FC content pack flan's [SUPERTHREADNAUGHT]
It's ok, I'm in the same exams boat, and I laughed when I read functional, so I guess we are even. I won't get mad over it, that wasn't as bad as the Dolphin thing (as in I've spent relatively little time on this part).
Yeah I suck as a designer, why the fuck do you think I hired you? I only go with what I know will work. I'm just the guy who puts the hours in making it work, so excuse me if I get fucked off in future.
One CoD weapon is ok to figure out attachments, that's why the AB24 is like that, I didn't have all the attachments initially so I used the modern warfare ones to work it all out. Those other designs are my last resort, and I figure upon seeing those you want to do better than them
EDIT: I'm under as much stress as you are, perhaps more so but I don't know your situation so I can't comment, but I can relate. It is wrong of me to expect you to design everything, but please bear in mind because of that I may end up having to make these CoD guns.
But that laser pistol/rifle is very good, I will make that next if I don't immediately start on the Peregrine. Also I think I can adapt that flamer, but it isn't a priority as flamethrowers are a little strange currently.

Proto random right field question, How hard would it be for you to make more then two legged walkers? I assume you might be able to just make a two legged one with another pair giffed on that don't actually do anything?

Pretty sure Flan's only handles two-legged mechs. You could presumably model the torso section so that it had fake legs attached to the back, but they wouldn't move and the torso would still rotate around the real pair and it would generally look like crap.Shadowcat wrote:Proto random right field question, How hard would it be for you to make more then two legged walkers? Working on that laser pistol:

I've done something odd with the reload animation, it reloads like an RPG, that way you can tell the difference between the unloaded (left) and loaded (right)
I'm working on the conversion kit to the bigger almost SMG sized version, should work as an attachment.
Haven't done all the shapes there, still that bit on the top and the iron sights to add (main scope is part of the kit)

Because I can see the model better when I put it on the mechs, bit difficult to see everything from first and third person player views.Tiel wrote:idgi, when did this become mechwarrior?
And there currently isn't anything stopping you using any gun on any mech, which is annoying.
Also have a shittily drawn idea for a bolt sniper/anti armour cannon
As in it shoots big iron bolts, and it's big.
