After careful consideration, I fall with Cats. His reasons are sound, there is no argument to be had besides that of denial.catsonmeth wrote:The lore is unstructured, made up entirely of RPs that never had anything resembling a standard system of anything, and frankly ridiculous. No one has ever had the ability to organize anything past their own faction's backstory and every time restructuring has been attempted it's failed because apparently people put too much effort RPing whatever little lore was made up. At this point, disorganization and ineptitude are the only constants, not only in the RP but the entire forums. It's annoying that no one can do anything other than twiddle their thumbs and resist change, even if it might be for the better. I'm just upset because the RP is the last sanctuary in this dying community and it's slowly beginning to follow the path of the rest of Futurecraft.ACH0225 wrote:Just because you don't know the lore doesn't mean you can hate it. I also agree with cats.
I propose a universe reset. We will go through RP's according to the universe time with strict rules and such. Or we can make a timeline, set dates, and put RP's in those dates later.

Bleh. I vote no reset, the system is fine as it is. Please note that cats has not been participating much in the current RP. Please also note the average life expectancy of structured RPs(10 pages) compared to unstructured RPs(20-30, 60 for 1st).

Re: Futurecraft Universe Canon and Discussion
We could eventually assemble a timeline-establishment commitee to sort out the lore of various factions and put them in relation to each other.
However, I think it would be important that timeline establishment would not interfere with any currently running RPs. (in this case, that unstructured one)
And I do agree that unstructured RPs seem much more fun to play, simply because noone can complain about a 'bad system'. From what I witnessed, all structured RPs died because someone complained about the system and threw enough shit at the RP to make people lose interest.
In comparison, the only unstructured RP we've finished so far was the original one. And that ended mostly because Fenway decided to use some temporal plot device to basically destroy the entire universe. Also because everyone was locked into a massive war that could not be won or lost.
I guess we should erase that last bit from the original RP if we want to use it in anything lore-related.

I vote no to an RP reset, primarily due to the fact that Cats seems hell-bent on establishing a standard system when half the fun is waiting to see what insanity will pop up next.
That, and he's judging something which he doesn't participate much in.

Problem is that RPs are reset pretty much the moment a new RP starts so it doesn't really matter.

I can't say I'm heavily invested one way or the other what with you-know-what presumably still heavily influencing rps.
As long as Protectorate stays what it is and Iv doesn't get to be *official humanity* by having Earth I'm fine with anything at this point.

Dates are one thing I couldn't give a crap about, I can't remember irl historical dates, let alone made up ones.

We could have Earth owned by all of the different human factions, as it is shared by the Noble Houses in the BT universe.

In all fairness, ComStar was just letting them visit, but that works, I guess.

Re: Futurecraft Universe Canon and Discussion
The problem is Iv has this weird IDF-in-space lore that's mutually exclusive with anyone else hoping to utilize the planet prior to the events of FC. I oppose that strictly on principle, and will continue to do so until a convincing reason can be given for allowing one person to dictate the future of the species everyone is currently a member of.
