That what these nifty little things called rules are for. Besides we could become poplar for a Gestapo level moderation against *.
As for the topic I think WoT would best since it has amazing graphics usage. It's like the only game in which I can get 40fps and no lag. And it's pretty fun and easy to use team wise.

Do we even have rules anymore? It's been established many times over that no-one here has any interest in enforcing them. I would love to be in a place that had rules like that, but this is not that place.Shadowcat wrote:That what these nifty little things called rules are for. I think we've sortve developed into a self governing mob mentality system. Since there's only really like ten of us moderating is kindve pointless.Mistake Not... wrote:Do we even have rules anymore? At this level I think the penalties(can't remember the right word) of strictly enforcing the rules outweigh the benefits. Right now it's better to leave it up to the admin/moderator since we pretty much all know each other.Mistake Not... wrote:Do we even have rules anymore? And no to your Q LJS I dont get how we gonna get mroe "undesirables" than we can get in any other way or form, the common undesirables you get in gaming communities is the type that calls everyone noobs but as I said the fact thats gonna be a social gaming community already solves it, its simply not the place for those individuals.

RP has been broken for a while.
Anyway, if not a gaming place, than at least a sci fi one. That's one thing we all seem to have a shared interest in.

Re: A Game to Play
Well fine you all love sci-fi, whets next ? Where do you plan to gather your audience ? What do you hope to do together? There needs to be a reason why ppl would want to stay here, you will have a hard time providing it by trying to create some sort of "sci-fi" discussion here, I will give it a few weeks, not even months, before it dies off. Yea that’s a harsh prediction but I believe that’s what you are going to see, you are not as much of sci-fi nerds in the first place, yes all ppl here like space and perhaps have a fav franchise but you really don't circle around it.

Iv, getting u desirables in a gaming community of any kind is more or less a guaruntee. Griefers, arsehats, and other such folks *will* show up eventually.
Of course, we could tighten the rules to deal with that, but then the rules would still apply to everybody. And this group seems to be averse to rules, anyhow.

Re: A Game to Play
They will show up anywhere such as our good friend cool with or without gaming community as a reason, with or without you tightening rules, and I don’t get why you hate gamers so much, as I said YOU ARE gamers want it or not so better learn how to deal with it before you start to hate yourselves .

Re: A Game to Play
Iv, you're misunderstanding. I like gamers. I hate asshats. There is, actually, a difference, as well as overlap. Some gamers are asshats. We don't like asshats (or so I assume).

Re: A Game to Play
I think we should do planetside 2. We can play it with only 7 people so relax. Trust me I know how to lead a squad, and 7 people is a fare amount of people. The only problem with us playing this is that several of us do in fact have crappy graphics cards and won't be able to play. The other problems are us finding a server and faction to play on.

PS2 can run (okayish) on medium-end? systems, provided we avoid the whole 100+ people at once mass battles.
I may install MWO fer the hell of it, though.

Re: A Game to Play
Ps2 is great and all but like you said we dont really have a very strong computer community. I suggest WoT it runs with incredibly low graphic usage, I get an average of 30 - 40 fps on my slow laptop, and it's a nice quiet team friendly game that would be great for YouTube videos which is something we want a lot of.Tell wrote:I think we should do planetside 2. Re: A Game to Play
Don't jump, leap, and dive to conclusions, Shadow. I suggest PS2 because it's surprisingly good about not being epically pay to win, which most F2P games are. From what I know of WoT, it's a ridiculously long grind, or pay up. Which doesn't appeal to me.
PS2 has payment elements, yeah, but I can decap someone with the basic weapons just as easily as with the high end ones. So the difference is muted. Wallet Warriors may keep games alive, but they're still annoying as fuck.

Re: A Game to Play
The prob is that you think "Oh the goal in WoT is to get to the top of the tree", I asked the following Q - Why bother ? The matches are the same both at tier X or tier 5, Id even add that in tiers 5-8 there is more variety than tier X. The fact it takes some time to get to the next tank in the tier just gives you a goal but eventually I enjoy every match with my tanks, If I don't enjoy that particular tank I don’t bother to force myself to level up unless its a short run towards a tank I really like (like the ELC AMX, those who have it prob know that unlike this tank that easily reaches 65 Km/h in a couple of secs the tanks before it in the tech tree are the complete opposite - full of armor and slow as butt, but eventually they were low tier so I reached ELC AMX in an acceptable time and I don’t regret it).
There are some trees that going up through them is quite enjoyable on all stages, I believe the American heavy tree line is such, its true they loose the punch on some levels and feel slightly behind the KVs lets say, eventually they can still stand their ground against them and in the end you get T29 which is a blast to play for me (well M6 and T1 heavy were also quite good). It can ricochet even T8 shells and tiers 6 and below just stand no chance. There is also the German SPG tree which is good in my opinion, Hummel is pure gold and I still play it even though I got G.W. Panther and about to get St.Tiger (P) . Also another example that you don't need to grind to enjoy this game is a little tank I still play from time to time because its also really cool, guess which ? The American T1 tank - T1, Yup, the first tank you get in the American tree for free, it's MG cannon is just cool to use ! And you can get it after 2 games or even 1 !
