Despite the fact that the weapon would only be able to create a rift at between one and four meters in diameter, and that an enormous generator or a massive amounts of smaller generators would be needed for it to be used as a superweapon, the Zuguthian government understands the Novans' concern, and all further testing and production of the weapon will cease. The plans will be securely locked up in Technotronic data archives, unless the GSA would like access to them.

Thanks to the industrial-grade construction machines, the colony on Long Reach will be finished within a few weeks to a month or two, its main feature being a city which, in true Zuguthian manner, will be eco-friendly and utilize and take inspiration from the surrounding environment, so as not to pollute it or ruin the looks of it.

Upon receipt of a recent message from the Pegasus colony, now termed Solaris, the intergalactic jumpship Distant Memory has been repurposed to carry a JumpGate to the Pegasus galaxy. Loading and a fast refit is in progress, and the ship is expected to depart within the week.

The Novan Commonwealth recently declared the Long Reach system a protected area. To wit, this means all vessels entering the system must agree to Commonwealth space law. They have, however, pointed out all areas outside the system are free space.

Production of a second Distant Memory class IGJS, Enduring Freedom, has begun. With no real rush, the ship will likely be ccompleted in several months. According to sources, the ship is to be equipped with a new form of quantum entanglement communications, as well as a new advanced JumpDrive.

After many months of silence, something began broadcasting from Orion Confederation space. The first ship to pick it up was a Novan scout, which had been checking up on the reproted inactivity of the Confederate Border Security Stations. At first, its crew was puzzled. Then warning lights lit up and alarms blared, before the ship was reduced to slag, which quickly froze. It appeared that something had changed dramatically.
The ship sent one last transmission before its destruction, however. It message was a copy of the broadcast.

This is Prime Minister Markus Korriman of the Novan Commonwealth. We have recieved word that a coup has replaced thenOrion Confederation with the Orion Imperium. While we normally would not interfere with internal politics of another nation, we must protest your obviously aggressive and violent policies. Should you not return contact and stand down your forces from "shoot on sight", there *will* be reprecussions.

And another message, to the GSI.

I fear war approaches. Due to internal coup, we have a new hostile in the Orion Imperium. We are attempting diplomatic contact, and would appreciate if everyone stood their militaries to ready status.

== Orion Confederation Border - Minutes After Scout Destruction ==
While in transit, a small group of Hexalan ships detected several anomalies in their subspace feeds, the most prominent a transmission. The message garbled by slipspace, they could not know more than its existence without shutting off their drives. Slowing their speed significantly, the communications officers began to attempt to decipher more before their decision. Only a few things could be discerned: several features suggested an Orion Confederation signal, but their outdated information could not make sure of it. Also found was a few phrases, what they could find suggested a warning of sorts. Unable to contact command regarding this issue without exiting, they did so. The 2 cruisers and 3 frigates gleamed into realspace a few thousand klicks out from the nearest border station. There they investigated the signal further, sending out a secure broadcast to command. It took only moments for the crew to pick up residuals of the transmission as well as the unknown object it originated from. There they parked.

== NeoRome Border - 2 Hours Behind Schedule ==
352 large blasts of light appeared only hundreds of meters from NeoRoman space. The fleets approached the border, only slightly behind due to a hull malfunction on a couple of ships, were prepared to enter. They flew, shields up but weapons off, to the meeting area.

== Orion Confederation Border - Just After Novan GSI Message ==
"You have the go ahead, but do so stealthily, we have no idea what you're going to be up against. Reinforcements will be there in mere days, hold out until then will ya'?"
The familiar tone beeped, the transmission over. Fleet Commander Braxcis stood at the bridge of what was formerly the starboard assault bay of the grand Novum dreadnought. He did not dwell on those memories however, and ordered engineering crews to vent flux similar in energy quantity to a slipspace jump and disable IFFs. The ships went dark, faking their exit. The cluster then drifted off towards the border station, weapons and shields at the ready.

The ship conducted multiple sensor sweeps of the massive cities below, identifying key locations and population sensors and any military units. From this data, it was able to complete a map of a majority of the planet.

Of course, this data was not without a cost. It had been running from Imperium ships for the past few days. Every thirty minutes it jumped to a new location. Every thirty minutes, the fleet caught up with the Jalkrax.

But the data survey was complete. The ship deactivated it's cloaking system and set one last jump, back to NeoRoman space.

At this, a few cruisers un-docked from Enthrall and flew up on either side of the fleet, flying formation.

"Keep in mind that we have an unverified report of asteroids along 7716. Keep shields up and weapons hot and you should be just fine."



The Farable battleship has established it's whereabouts relative to our galaxy through parallax. It has emerged in the next galaxy cluster over, an unprecedented distance away, in the NGC 1300 galaxy. The ship is entirely on it's own, as traversing the 60-million light years between our galaxy and NGC 1300 will be nigh impossible without reconstructing the quantum gate.

OOC: Hexalan fleet. Novum Paradigma/Novus Colonia built the dreadnought, which was divided into smaller ships for Codice compliance. Although, that could be a Novan fleet, but I don't recall them sending any.

"Roger that Enthrall, keep it up." The group shifted for improved protection, ready for any space rocks. Turrets uncoiled, DRADIS sweeps more frequent. Admiral Akajus was assigned to the group, he was one of the few opposed to the idea NeoRome had been compromised, but he still had his doubts. Standing at the window, he looked upon the NeoRoman masterpieces - ships his people had not seen for a very long time. Enthrall was now out of range, and he made his way to the Symphonic Apropos' command center.

BORDER-STATION FOXTROT-2, 1 HOUR AFTER SCOUT DESTRUCTION
The newly formed Imperial Battlegroup 8a (Fleet 8, battlegroup a. Self explanatory) warped to the stations coordinates and began bombarding the area with active-radar pings, LIDAR sensors, and various other sensors. Their weapons were fully powered and shields were up. The ships looked like Confederation designs, but different. They looked more war-like, bristling with extra weaponry and sensor nodules. They had warped in mere moments after the apparent exit of the Hexalan ships. The battlegroup went into a holding pattern and idled their engines, weapons and shields still active, and still pinging.

Exterminator weapon= broad term for weapons that kill all biological life within a certain radius. Sort of like an Über-neutron bomb, but in missile, beam, or bomb form.

== Orion Confederation Border - 18:00 Standard (just over an hour after destruction) ==
Spare crew watched from the few viewing areas, the Imperial Battlegroup warping in. Just in weapons range, the total 17 MAC cannons fired at the 11 opponents, focusing on the Nikes. A single Hermes was caught off guard and sustained a critical hit. While the rest of them reloaded, 4 MACs fired from the Onesty-class. All of them opened up with their railguns, the Onesty facing its underside to the attackers, firing the numerous empty drop pods. Already, a Comra-class was down. Should space have had an auditory medium, one would hear the rushing whoosh of missiles echo throughout.

Reaching the wreck of their scout ship, the Novan fleet detected a contact. A war fleet. Activating weapons, tbey powered up shields and ECM. The lead vessel, detecting a cruiser within range, hesitated a second, then slammed two 150mm shells across its bow.

"This is the Novan Commonwealth destroyer Valiant. We are recovering our scout craft. Ateempting to interfere will result in open warfare between the Novans and you."

The second ship, equipped with a testbed fusion cruise missile, locked the fleet as targets and waited as the Valiant moved towards the scout wreck. A blaze of light crossed space, striking her stern and blasting away an engine.

Not waiting for more, the second ship, Fidelity, lit up and fired a swarm of missiles, along with a pair of fusion missiles. The rest of the fleet followed up with a series of 150mm AP shells, and two of the ships began blazing away with 20mm chainguns.

Mere moments before the Hexalan ships had opened fire, the Imperial ships detected them. The first salvo was stopped by the shields, but they were being worn down. A fair amount of missiles pierced the shields of the Enduring Wrath, a Nike, and caused considerable damage. The Imperial Battlegroup responded with withering counterfire from the multiple railguns, TITAN cannons, hyper-lasers, and missile launchers. Multiple TITAN rounds and hyper-laser beams found their way to the Gyilkos-class. Simultaneously, the battlegroup called for reinforcements from the nearby Wispar II naval base, the largest in the sector. When the Novan ships warped in, the Battlegroup Commander gave the order to arm the Exterminator weapons and split fire between the Novans and the Hexalans. The missiles streaked toward their targets and detonated. Suddenly, the Fidelity stopped firing and sat, listless. The same happened to a few other ships, ones that the missiles had hit.

Current research: Project EPSILON-ZINE has began.

Colonial Actions: Sirius system is now fully "controlled",with the project of a small naval-base on one of the system planets.

CBN Broadcast: Just over an hour ago, contact with Battle Cluster C-19 was lost. We're received reports that there last known location was at the Orion Confederation border, and were investigating a distress signal from what we can now assume was a destroyed ship. Following up the Novan message labeling the "Orion Imperium", which has been confirmed to have formerly been the Orion Confederation, hostile, we are now in a state of war. Word has been sent to the fleets in NeoRome, and they will do what they can to speed up the process. In the meantime, all military personnel have been placed in high alert and all available ships are being armed fully. Border access screening has been given two more scans and another search, entries disregarding our strict guidelines will be shot on sight.
And now, the weather.

With the loss of 6 destroyers (who put a not small dent in the OI battlegroup), a fleet is being assembled under Fleet Admiral Carnes. Massing seventeen cruisers, twenty destroyers, and over thirty frigates, the group wil be led by the newly-armed and repurposed JumpShip Distant Memory.

After recovering some data from the destroyer wrecks, theses vessels' shields have been attuned especially to signifcantly reduce the effect of the new Imperium neutron weapons. Time will tell if this is effective.

OOC. Distant Memory is essentially a dreadnought, packing shields slightly more powerful than planetary defense fields, and carrying over 100 heavy cannon, almost a thousand 20mm chainguns, and with experimental extended-range particle projector cannons. As well, she was recently fitted with 6 gimballed hypervelocity mass drivers, and is essentially a small fleet on her own. Also tagging along in her fighter bays are 10 squadrons (12 fighter bombers each).

Fortunately for the Imperium, only one IGJS exists at present.

Colonization on Sirius system is going well. The small naval base was constructed using a flootila of Echelons,building a modular small station and fitting it with some weapons and a array of shields. THis will serve as a hub for the current military.
