Colonial action: MCUs on Sirius are going well. They already built the foward base of operations,using on-site materials. Now,the incoming colonists have at least a confortable place to stay while they plan the next step.

Sirius B 45602,or "Soriat" is in his middle stages of supporting life. So it will be used as a rural world.

Military goals: Project NEEDLE still going. Prototypes are being produced.

The jumpgate in the Novus system is now active, and the Long Reach gate is approaching completion. The expedition has landed their colonists in a settlement now known as Pandora.

The Long Reach system will be accessible to others in 4 days.

Also, explorations have revealed a new species on a moon in the system. Orbiting the gas giant Jewel, the small forest world of Lazarus (or "Huntaria" to the natives, best translation) is homeworld to a diminutive humanoid race calling themselves the Sre-Kritae (in their language), with no real translation to Standard.

The crew of the expedition have dubbed them the Aurin, and are currently working on learning their language and culture. They are intelligent, technologically capable, but most choose the forests of their homeworld over the comparitavely open surfaces of other worlds. Apparently, several Aurin explorers have made trips to the Milky Way, though never spotted.

In the meantime, system surveys are still underway.

Sre-Kritae, Aurin. Originate from Huntaria (Desig. Lazarus), Long Reach system, Andromeda Galaxy. A humanoid race, averaging 102 cm in height, with a thin physique and elongated limbs. Have large, rabbit-like ears, and feline tails.

The race, from early readings, seems to have remarkable prionic power, or something very similar. Observations indicate all Aurin are capable of manipulating, to a degree, what they refer to as the Link. From what the research teams gathered, this is cimposed of the planet's biosphere, and all flora and fauna attendant to. Apparently, this Link allowed them to learn Standard at an astonishing rate. While not telepaths, they do appear to have a definable empathic link with many plants, animals, and such. More study advised.

Their society appears matriarchal, though this is unconfirmed. Females appear to be in most positions of power, though gender dimorphism does not apoear anywhere else seen by the researchers.

A number of Aurin scientists, or "Observers", to translate their word, have requested to come to Pandora, and later Novus, to study the races of the Commonwealth. Expedition commander Arcturus Arrun agreed, and the group will move to Pandora shortly.

High command has begun declassifying information regarding project Pantheon.

A sister ship to the Archetype is under construction for venture into the new galaxy, the ship will be named the Kronus, captained by D-ARK model X.

Side-effect of the project NEDDLE gave birth to the Cutter light corvette.

Role: Heavy interceptor,system patrol,scouting,Frontier defense.
Weapons: 2x FIrestorm gattling guns,1x Pulse laser and 2x MIcro-Missiles "Nanodart" system.

Using a natural stealth cover on the hull,it can operate undected by civillian and some simple military sensors. Fast,he can take more punishment than a fighter and feature a small eezo drive,being used as scout and in fast response to attacks along Darkstar territory.

Colonial Action : a small squadron of Cutters is being sent to Sirius to grant protection against raids. Soon,a Gemini-Class medium carrier will support the operation. First farms are being "constructed" there with the first colonists.

Military action: Project NEDDLE still on-going. Final tests await.

The Hierarch, after a week of power outages and shortages throughout NeoRome, has announced that the Farable battleship has successfully traversed the Galactic Core into another galaxy. Power is slowly being brought back to the cities on the planet.

Accompanying this announcement are the details to a highly classified NeoRoman project, revealed after it's success under the terms of it's own GSA. This project, named TRANS-FAR, describes the construction of a large tunneling gate around black holes to link one to another in a one-way trip. The destination is, as of yet, seemingly random, but the destination is generally a black hole of a very similar quantum state.

The current whereabouts of the Farable are unknown, but contact was established a few hours after transfer. As expected, the large gate surrounding the Galactic Core has collapsed into it. Hopefully the 20 year venture will have been worthwhile.

Preparation of colonization ships and -equipment has been finished, and will set off for New Reach as soon as possible.
The ships will contain food, furniture, scientific equipment, farm equipment, and industrial-grade construction machines, as well as the crew and colonists themselves.

In other news, wormhole testing in the distant asteroid field nears completion. We have yet to hear anything else about the project.

TechTron Industries have received heavy criticism for a recent advert, which has been printed in several newspapers and broadcast on several TV channels:

There are many great nations, all different. Main species, core technology, there are many things that make each nation unique and brilliant. However, there is one major problem where we are all the same.
Suicide rates are rising all the time, everywhere. it is an unevitable side effect of a growing population. There can be are many causes to this: war, disease, economical or social troubles, these are all problems many people suffer from, not only in our nation, but in all nations. Maybe even you have suicidal thoughts, caught between problems with no apparent escape other than death.

There is something you can do, however. Don't let your death be in vain; why not give your body to science?
Organ donors are aways important, and sometimes organs have to be alive at the time of transplantation. Or if you are uncomfortable with the thought of your body being used for spare parts, we here at TechTron Industries may need test subjects that are not afraid of death, or maybe even ones that welcome it.

This advert has led to people calling TechTron Industries, and several of its daughter companies as well, respectless and uncaring for the population. Until now we have not received any response from them, but today a high-ranking director, Trim-Shu Ta'Nik, gave a little speech:
"We fully understand that you feel we are without respect," she says, "After all, I'm sure many of you have lost friends and family, and even idolized celebrities, to suicide. We know that this is a problem, but disease is also a problem. Disease kills far more than suicide every year, and if we had a better system for organ transplantation, those rates would be lowered drastically. And if we could do more thorough studies on people, we could find what causes and cures many of these diseases, lowering the death rates even more. We are not saying that suicide is not a problem, we are not saying it is a good thing, but we are saying that the victims can do it for a greater cause. And just to make it clear, we are not encouraging suicide. We are merely presenting an option to shooting yourself in the bathtub, or throwing yourself off a bridge."

The new Long Reach JumpGate is operational, and defenses are set up. Interested nations may send ships to the attached coordinates and they will be directed through the gate safely.

The Aurin are indeed a matriarchal society. The females are the physically weaker of the species, though they have a stringer connection to the Link. Analysis and queries regarding the Link have turned up the fact that a significant portion of Andromedan life has empathic or telepathic ability, thus explaining their connection.

Also, researchers report the Aurin appear to have almost a euphoric effect on some races. Humans tend to feel happier, and only the Strigiforme (expat owl, ACH, Novans are not judgemental) on site report no effect. The most spectacular response was from a Moboquestian researcher, who reported later that he seemed unable to feel depressed or sad. The team biologist suspected pheremonal incompatibility.

Several Aurin scientists have been transported to Pandora, where they are observing the construction of the colony and interaction between the locals. From what we gather, the Aurin originally did expand and settle like humans, albiet more peacefully, but halted some time ago as most preferred arboreal worlds, which seem to be few and far between.

In particular, the research team at Pandora seems enthused to visit Novus, as the world is a combination of ocean and forest, wiith little else. A small group has requested they be able to contact the Strigiforme, after hearing of their relations with the rest of the Milky Way. Messages will be forwarded.

Also; any vessel passing to Andromeda must deactivate its weapons while within the Long Reach system. The Novan Star Navy has a fleet in system, and sentry platforms surround the JumpGate and colony. Any vessel with active weapons will be considered hostile. Additionally, any wishing to visit the Aurin homeworld must land within marked areas to avoid damage to their biosphere.

The Strigiforme in Andromeda have made headway in setting up defences and shipyards on Cyyriiarik(Golden)-V. The mountainous world has peaks in excess of 15 km high, and has 67% ocean. In orbit, a Yttrium Jump Portal is near completion, and will be linked to the system of portals. Incoming ships from other parts of Andromeda should be notified of the Defence status of Cyyriiarik, which is shoot-on-sight. Beacons and interceptors have been placed around the system to notify and deter any possible ships.

The Equestrian Coalition officially condemns the imperialist and territorial usage of the Andromeda Galaxy by the Strigiforme.

Due to an expected increase in tensions, the entire EC has been set to DEFCON-4, meaning that increased funding and authorizations will be given to the Equestrian Intelligence Network and tighter regulations for entering or flying in EC space will be in place.

Entering EC space without prior announcement will lead to immediate interception of the vessel. Any vessel wishing to enter the Hill Sphere of an EC-controlled system has to take tight security scans. Furthermore, everyone who wishes to travel with a ship that is planned to enter EC space is to bring a passport to verify ones origin. Every passport will be double-checked with the database of the origin country to ensure validity.


In other news, the EC's joint-military forces have announced that the following classes of ships have all been removed from their inventory:
Equestria-class light cruiser
Spear-class frigate
Nightmare-class strike corvette
Wonderbolt-class carrier
Soarin'-class fighter
Lyra-class pinnace
Diamond Dog-class light carrier

It is of yet unknown why the EC would disband most of their forces from service at once, and noone knows what has happened to the ships, which is not surprising, considering th e details on those ships had been classified from the start.

The Novus JumpGate is official active and open for travel. Additionally, a small colony group of Aurin have been transferred to Novus II, the until now uninhabited forest planet in the Novus system. Lacking in useful resources, it was preserved originally as a sanctuary.

The Novan Commonwealth has officially stated it condemns the violent and aggressive actions of the Strigiforme Nationalized Kingdom in thenAndromeda and Triangulum galaxies. The newly landed Pegasus colony is being alerted of possible Strigiforme invasion, due to the system having [CLASSIFIED - EYES ONLY].

Th Strigiforme find the reactions of other species highly derrogotory, stating that their actions were purely defensive. The Strigiforme colony in Triangulum believe they have found a new sentient species. This race is in Tier 4(early space travel), and are insectoid. They are approximately 1.7 meters long, and stand 1 meter high. Their bodies are oval-shaped and very flat(25cm) and wide(1m). Communications are pending.

The Zuguthian colonist ships have reached Long Reach, and construction of a colony will start immediately. A team of scientists are being sent to Lazarus to aid in researching the Aurin and, maybe even to a greater extent, the Link.

It has been announced that TTI's wormhole testing, which ended recently, has indeed been with the aim of creating a completely new kind of weapon. You will now see the official announcement made by the Empress:
"People of Zuguth and its colonies, I have been allowed to confirm that TechTron Industries have developed a new addition to our military's arsenal. I can't give you any technical details, but it is a sort of bomb, using wormholes to destabilize time and space in a small area around it. Now, knowing what happened to Technoma, this might sound like a weapon of mass destruction, but it is not. Since it has to be made so small to be effective, it can't make that big of a rift, and it is quite expensive to produce. However, while it is not something that will let us control the galaxy, it will be useful in several situations. Thank you, please direct any questions to my secretaries."

The MQR has decided to send a research ship through Long Reach to Lazarus to offer help with the research on the Aurin and the Link.

Potentially being a galaxy-wide psionic network, the Link is of special interest to the Moboquestrian Republic.

The Novan government has sent a statement to TechTron. As follows:

While we understand your need and desire to defend yourself, from your recent broadcast, we feel as though space-time weapons are, while not excessively powerful, exceptionally dangerous. The fact that you damage the fabric of space to damage someone implies the ability to increase the power of this device, and while you are among the trusted nations of our galaxy, we feel no singular nation, or preferably, no nation at all should posess such power.

Other news says the Novans have travelled tomevery system within 10 light years of Long Reach, placing sensor posts there. They have stated the posts are unarmed, and that they intend to set up security within all inhabited or colonized systems, and from there, directing each nation that arrives in Andromed to a sector that they can colonize freely.

The motive behind this plan is to reduce the chance of conflict in and around Long Reach and the Triangulum March, by giving each nation their own sector. The Moboquestrian Republic, for example, is being considered to enter a sector very heavy in tanazine, a mineral that apparently affects psionic abilities. So far, no other word has been given.

After more investigations, it seems the mood-affecting the Aurin can pull off is caused by a combination of pheremones on their side and a low-level psionic field on ours. The combination of the field (enhancing reception of senses) and the pheremones (and their own Link) causes happiness and euphoria. Also discovered is that the Aurin are herbivores.

Apparently, a group now known as the Vannunr (etymologists tell me this may bear similarity to the Norse "Vanir") elected to depart Lazarus some years ago, and set up in another egion of space. Our vessels have detected so ething that may be this Vannunr, and we will investigate further.

Also discovered on Lazarus is a race of small, vaguely insectoid creatures now termed "Vratyyx". Despite their similarity to spider in appearance, they average 25cm in length and are covered by soft furr. According to the Aurin, they are not native, and our scientists have detected evidence of genetic manipulation. From what we gather, the Vratyyx may be a failed bioweapon, but research continues. They are not self-aware, but seem fairly amiable towards other species.

The insectoid species discovered by the Strigiforme in Triangulum, named the Ryytils, are in the process of being uplifted to Tier 2 Space Faring status. The Strigiforme have, with the Ryytils' permission, named the system a protected area. Beacons have been set up around the system to deter entry, and heavy force is authorized by the Ryytils and Strigiforme. The Strigiforme colony has been set up on a moon in the system which was near habitable, and will soon be made habitable. A Yttrium portal is also half completed, and will allow additional Strigiforme ships into the sector.

In the Andromeda, the Yttrium portal has been completed, and now many ships have entered the system. Nearby systems are being colonized, though Cyyriiarik is still under cordon.
