The departure of the intergalactic jumpship Distant Memory occurred earlier today. The vessel executed 2 of the required 6 jumps to complete the trip to Andromeda, and is now using its reactors to recharge the jump drive to continue.

The scout ship Eyes Above has completed a brief survey of the system in which its mothership will arrive. The two Goldilocks planets have been deemed worthy of closer inspection.

Plans are being assembled for a series of colony ships, and a jumpgate, to be transported to Andromeda for colonization efforts.

TechTron Industries have been given green light to perform a series of tests in a distant out-mined asteroid field to try and recreate the Technoma event, although on a much smaller scale.
The purposes of this remain unknown, but there are rumors of a completely new kind of weapon.

And now, to a moment of tragedy. Colony 2 has been lost to a major epidemy, which was just swept away as a low-priority outbreak despite the fact that none of the infected could be healed. A special team will collect a few samples and burn all other infected material, and the area will then be put in a quarantine for the next few months at least. Details like the type of ship or who they got it from are still unknown, but experts suggest it might be the same mysterious contractor that was responsible for the Equestria-class, which still has not been declassified.

The Novans have extended an offer to all GSA members; after the Andromeda Expedition assembles a JumpGate, any interested nation may make use of this gate, and may establish a colony or city on the newly discovered world of Long Reach, in the Triangulum March of the neighbouring galaxy.

Starting as a small private contractor [SMS],it grew very fast due to the private funding of scientists and other special investors. Now,its big enough to be counted as a galatic power,being present in many crises in the past and for being the founder and Head of the United Galactic Commonwealth. There are many rumours around the Corporation,because of the secrecy between the members and general rule of silence.

Very often accused of illegal research,but there is no proof nor evidence.

The military is centered around the "Blitzkrieg" style of combat,not being good in numbers,but with a extreme operational range,exceptional technology and very good special operation teams.

Strigiforme extragalactic ships have made it to the periphery of the Andromeda galaxy, and have begun orbit around a star in the Triangulum galaxy. The launch time was accelerated an hour, and no press releases were made. No images or official statement besides the notice of their arrival have been made.

The Andromeda expedition scout ship has completed its survey of the Long Reach system. Star maps are being consulted, and according to data recieved and the old Andromeda starmap, there are several promising systems nearby.

The most habitable planet in the system, now termed Nexus, is being investigated for colonization efforts. Distant Memory is now two jumps away from the system.

As an aside, I'm working on a way to divide up the galaxies into sector or something. So....post where in the galaxy (north, east, south, west) your space is, and what the cluster, sector, or whatnot is called? N, E, S, and W are all relative to the MW itself, so for our purposes, MW doesn't rotate on maps.

The Novan Commonwealth is located in the northern section of the Milky Way, near the galactic edge. Situated in the Sagittarius Star Cluster, of the Draconis March sector.

The Moboquestrian Republic would be in the south sector, with the most important worlds all located in the Aurora Argentium Sector.

The Commonwealth, seeing as extragalactic stuff is happening, made a broadcast today detailing the Outbound Colony Project.
This from the Minister of Colonization:

The Outbound Colony project was an initiative launched in 2245, a large vessel intended to travel to the Pegasus galaxy and construct a colony, on which the Commonwealth would originally have been built. However, the nation split, with the Milky Way Novans opting to remain, and the Outbounders, as they're called, elected to continue. We, rather unexpectedly, recieved word from the vessel's comouter three years ago, stating it had arrived at a staging point outside Pegasus and was awaiting clearance to awake the crew.

Unfortunately, the ship was damaged and worn after several hundred years in deep space. While the crew can certainly set up a colony, they will be stranded on the planet they choose. To this end, [/I]Distant Memory[/I]'s planned sister ship, Star Chaser, is now under accelerated construction.

[I did run this past Fen, and he didn't say anything. Also, the Strigiforme made the intergalactic trip before these guys did, so they did prove their dong size.]

Current research project: ECHELON. A special type of multi-task construction device. Sort of a 3D printer,but using pre-made materials and schematics.

Current military actions: Patrols around the Darkstar systems being put on yellow alert to intruders.

Colonial Actions: Survey teams sent to extract resources from stray asteroids around the deep space.



A Illegal star racer was going to prison,when Darkstar paid the ransom. As a experienced racer,a new fighter design came up,using overcloaked parts and "special" ways of using ship parts. The result was the Jihaad.

The frame was designed to be a top racing vehicle. But with modifications and general tuning of the components,the original ship became the Jihaad interceptor,being extremely fast and manueverable. Cheap,Effective,and Fast,the Jihaad can fly on atmosphere as well,being even more deadly on this setting. The plasma engines,being injected with a special fuel,produces more thrust,thus creating a more powerful engine.

The Zuguthian Empire is preparing ships and equipment for setting up a small colony on Long Reach.
This colony, which will be named Nyx Temrino, will be the first of hopefully several colonies under the semi-independent New Zuguthian Colonies, and it will be dedicated mainly to science and knowledge.
No weapons will be brought with the colony, as it will be a symbol of hope for a new, peaceful coexistence between nations.

The Mobile Construction Unit [MCU] Echelon is a flexible and powerful military asset. It was developed to counter-act against the transport of big armies along the universe. The need to project military power to any world was the reason,as the logistics and costs of sending big fleets across the galaxy made the transport dificult and prohibitively expensive.

The MCU is a personal,multi-task,armored hover-ship,operated by a single highly-trained and motivated pilot. Although the pilot is constantly in communication with his command structure via the onboard Quantum Entaglement communication system,the pilot is in sole commande of the forces on the battlefield.

The primary mission of the MCU is to construct and command a foward base of operations. Because it cannot bring a large force with him alone,it stores digital template patterns of basic military base structures within protected banks of synthetic DNA memory storage.The Proto-Crafter does the rest [Convert on-site resources into sandcrete and other cheap alloys to build]

Usin the power from its onboard dark matter reactor and a initial store of resources,the MCU can build basic structures to support the ongoing construction of the base.

The Echelon utilizes a state of art coomunication and data analysis system that specialize in the coordination of large military forces and the managemente of a growing base of operations. A powerful virtual-reality interface links the pilot with all the units. This enables a pilot to asses the needs of the battlefield and direct his forces as necessary. More power to this functionality is given by rank [To command more powerful units,of more units. A Captain operating it can only build very simple things,but a Major can build "high level" ships and extructures]. Can be operated on-space too,being used as support to build ships "on the fly" or repairs.

The Strigiforme colony ships in the Andromeda galaxy have reported back that they have found a habitable world. Its' location is as of yet unknown, however, it has been described as being a world in need of no Cuuythforming. The ship en route to the Triangulum galaxy has yet to report positive for a habitable world.

The Strigiforme have also declined to join the Long Reach colony project.
