Honestly, Equestria was better off under Exion rule. Perhaps then the inevitable clash between Owls and Ponies could have at least been delayed.

Why Strigiforme Diplomacy is how it is.

1: The Strigiforme want to preserve the way they've lived for the past hundreds of thousands of years; oppressing everyone else and being on top. As a general rule though, the Strigiforme dislike most non-Strigiforme species. They used humans as slaves for ages, so they're at least familiar with them, but most other races they dislike and distrust.
2: Other races have the gall to act as their equals. The Strigiforme are a proud race; they've survived longer than any mentionably large race, and as such when one of these new upstart species pretend to be their equals, they shit on all of the Strigiforme's history.
3: They get no appreciation for what they've done. As ancient as they are, they've killed a lot of species far less stable and kind as they who could have easily ruled the galaxy. No one remembers this, no one really cares. The Strigiforme know they've probably saved each race from never existing multiple times, but no one remembers. They also made habitable a lot of planets during their really high height of power, many of which no one recognizes were ever Strigiforme worlds.

As for the equines...
4: Their whole peace and diplomacy routine really does not mesh with the Strigiforme. In owl culture, making peace before fighting is pretty dishonourable unless there's overwhelming firepower. Contact between the two at first was tense, because the equines tried diplomacy and were then brutally attacked because to the Strigiforme, this was like saying, "Hey, I have all these nice, undefended worlds you used to live on. I'm going to lie down on my back and take a nap while you point your gun at me. I also have massive amounts of natural resources and people who would be really good slaves."

Unfortunately for the Strigiforme, humans have this nasty habit of being unkillable little fucks.
Fortunately for humans, the owls are content to bugger off to another dimension most of the time.
Unfortunately for the Equestrians, everyone thinks they're nuts. Or foolish. Or targets.

From the owly POV, everyone else is an upstart little brat with no respect, and to everyone else, the Strigiforme is some old geezer ranting about how great he was for stealing your chocolate bar and restricting your freedom.

OOC: Oh well I had the fun idea. So you know how in all our RPs Earth is lost? Well that is because we were looking for the wrong thing.
BIC: Earth was never found because everyone was looking for eight planets circling a star. What is really happening is the Earth's sun is rotating around it, and the Moon is still keeping its same orbit. The other planets were thrown off into the cosmos. Whenever someone found this odd system they would be brushed off as lunatics because such a system was not scientifically possible. Then one day an expedition to this alleged system was made. To the teams surprise the strange solar system did exist. When the team made touchdown they rediscovered Earth.The strange stellar activity was actually being caused by the inhabitants of the planet which turned out to be intelligent equines. *skip forward many years to when the RP would take place*
The news about Earth was kept a secret as Humans would swarm to the planet and want to reclaim it. However someone leaked the information and the news spread around the galaxy like wild fire. The civilization that found the odd system was unknown but now it resides deep in the recently formed Equestrian Coalition territory. Immigrants are not allowed to planet Earth but no one thought that would stop the Humans from attempting to reclaim their birth place. The Strigiforme thought that in the process they could knock out some species so they made an alliance with the humans. (might be invalid as I consider Neo-Rome to be the major population of humans in the galaxy).

OOC: so yeah, thats my idea of what happened.

The furthest we agreed is that the Unification war caused a high radioactivity on the planet's surface and my capital became Mars, so no its not an asteroid belt and no Im not moving an inch further.

Afaik, Earth is lost and floating in deep space; no one can have it or ever use any of the planets or objects wherein. No one has it, knows of it, or lives on it. Lore originating from it is(I think) discouraged and to be replaced with the lore that the Strigiforme brought humans in from another dimension.

I thought it was that earth was destroyed and/or is unaccessible due to some sort of dangerous anomaly?
I do think that on some point it was mentioned that the Strigiforme originally brought humans into this galaxy as slaves, but some escaped and stranded on earth with litterally no technology left, which leads back to stone-age earth humans.

As far as my canon memory goes, Earth was nuked into oblivion by either rebels or the UTA to stop yhe other capturing it, and the UTA relocated to Mars and declared Earth off limits. Given the state of the place, nobody really wants it, so there's been no argument.

Besides, most of the human factions are centered around other worlds.
