Very few of us have a life outside of this forum (at least me and fen and apparently ivan don't), and although a lot of us have some kind of use most of those people are just learning java to help on a mod/game that might not ever be released, the only ones here who I can say from the top of my head are doing something useful are Proto and Fr0stbyte.
Also, just because I watched Life of Brian yesterday, I'd like to tell you to always look on the bright side of life.

If you're going to do something like that do it as a standard of living you plan to sustain. Losing a pound here and there is absolutely useless if you're just going to have a big mac with supersized fries the next day to 'congratulate' yourself.
