I suppose the pro-brony side of the argument is that if they want to take Princess Molestia down, they would need to take down all of bronydom that doesn't fall under fair use, which is essentially a lot of it.High Lictor Solaris wrote:Tau, I've read the fair use thing on the government's copyright website, it does not fall under the fair use clause, from what I understood, so Hasbro did have the right to order it to be taken down.

Re: Consider the following
Speaking with one pitiful semester of law education, that doesn't change anything, CvN. The blog defamed their brand in joking about rape, particularly of younger characters, and they took action. I'm sorry to say this, but you really don't have any legal recourse here...maybe next time latch on to a franchise that isn't marketed toward little girls and would thus find it harder to object to this kind of thing? Just a thought.Luna wrote:*giggles and runs away*
Alright let me say this differently. There really is no good way to put this. We simply enjoyed the blog because it was fun and light hearted. We meant no harm or bad intentions. We just liked the comedy and fun of it. Not to mention that the attention was getting latched onto Luna. I should probably stop posting as I cannot express my views on this well. Lock is fine, i'd rather you not but if you feel it is necessary go ahead.
Note: if anything in this post came off as rude I apologize, currently eating the worst bowl of baked beans known to man.

Sounds pretty good to me. They're creepy grown people who should have better things to do.

Hasbro has a pretty large brony fanbase, they would loose a lot of viewers if they shut down bronydom.ACH0225 wrote:Sounds pretty good to me. Maybe they'd gain the little girls they were marketing to by scaring off the strange men with neckbeards?

Help! The bronies are trying to censor my thoughts because they don't like them! Well, maybe next time you say something negative about owls, I'll have the same response.

Can we remain reasonably on topic, please? I do not actualy enjoy having to lock threads.
Besides, the MLP franchise is marketed towards younger girls, for fairly obvious reasons. The grown man neckbeards, I thinj the term is, are not exactly the intended audience. ACH has a point.

Those obvious reasons being? Also I'm afraid ACH does not have a point, none of you seem to understand who/what bronies are. We are not old creepy men. We are for the most part normal people, most of them twenty something adult males.Commander Error wrote:Can we remain reasonably on topic, please? I do not actualy enjoy having to lock threads.

Re: Consider the following
I actually understand bronydom pretty well. I occasionally watch the show with friends, and I'm familiar with the characters and can tell you that Rainbow is best pony when asked. I have friends who watch the show, friends who read fanfics, friends who spend a bit too much time reading fanfics (imo), and then there's you. You give bronies the bad name that Ach thinks of. The NSFW pony sex, that's the bad part of bronydom. And so I feel that if you are giving My Little Pony that sort of reputation, then the makers of My Little Pony have every right to shut it down. COME ON! THE FREAKING BLOG IS CALLED PRINCESS MOLESTIA!Luna wrote:Those obvious reasons being? Also I'm afraid ACH does not have a point, none of you seem to understand who/what bronies are. How hard is it to understand that you don't have the right to come to a show that kids watch, and make it so those kids might accidentally click a link to ponies getting raped?
Let me tell you a story. My sister is a big MLP fan. She loves Rainbowdash. So she google-images rainbow dash, looking to find a poster she can hang on her wall.
Possible NSFW below. Found by me and my sister on the front page of google images searching for rainbow dash. You wanna explain that to a 6-10 year old girl?
Edit: I know we have a policy against NSFW, but really, the thread is defending a blog about pony sex. Just ask and I'll remove it. But really, nothing compared to the stuff you find on blogs like the one that was shut down, or, say, Luna's blog.
Spoiler:
I have no sympathy for this side of bronydom, which includes you. But Ach is also wrong for labeling you all as bad. My friends who watch MLP are just the average people. They watch the show, but it's not like they post pony rape to their blog. So hating on them is wrong. But when you ask "Why is it fair that a blog using Hasbro's IP showing Hasbro's characters being raped gets taken down?", you are demonstrating what is wrong with bronydom. And yes, you deserve to be taken down. Stop defending it. It wouldn't be legal if it was humans, it would be labeled sick if it was humans, so why is it okay in ponies?
tl;dr: I know bronies, and this isn't one. This is a sick and twisted corner of humanity that doesn't deserve to identify with a children's show. And ACH is wrong too, there are perfectly normal bronies, including me, who are just as horrified at this as you are. God, I can't even keep a tl;dr short.
Anyways, I'm having trouble staying calm. Just my two cents. And yeah, I know some of you were talking about having me as project lead. This is why I'm probably a bad choice - I get mad, and I stay mad.

Very well. I understand, if you feel so strongly about it I will stop. You have made your points. I'm glad you know. I could go on about how I am who I am but if the world doesn't like me, then I won't yell back at the world. I have learned that doesn't work sadly. You can't fully be yourself in this world. Since it means so much to you I will stop any NSFW content I am involved with except for one thing. I'll delete all NSFW posts on my tumblr and I won't speak about this again. I will remain neutral however to pony NSFW.

Your blog is your own. My opinion is my own. You don't need to delete your blog, I'm just saying that if hasbro deleted it, I would feel it justified.Luna wrote:Very well. Re: Consider the following
okay, Luna, I think you are overreacting here...
I am with Keon on that.
Your blog is your own, if ppl don't like what you post there, they can simply not follow it.
While Keon doesn't like clop (and stuff related to it), his problem is propably that he does get framed for clopping easily simply because of being a brony.
Simply because some (or many) people can't relate to something doesn't mean you have to stop it.
Keon may also simply be worried about his sister, which is totally understandable. (Man, I once managed to stop a Cupcakes animation my brother found while searching for new MLP episodes on Youtube, like, last minute, I can relate)
On that point, Keon, I understand your concerns, but also understand that this is the internet and that such things ARE to be expected. MLP just got "unlucky" of having a wide fanbase made of adult males.
And about the picture you found as evidence... Yeah, I tested and you DO get similarily suggestive stuff if you image search female sonic characters.
