Jake sprung out of his pod, holding a grenade launcher in his hand.
"Lock and load, everybody! Let's blow up these owls!" he shouted while running for cover.
He activated the helmet's targeting system, which showed a red marker where the grenades would land.
"All right, feather fellows, just come a little bit closer and meet Janice.." he said to himself.

Re: Corsair's Reverie
Hiding behind Thomas' closed pod, Aleece knew he wasn't dead though, though it seemed as if he might be unconscious or something, but that wasn't important. She replaced the drawn pistol and pulled out the rifle. As soon as the responders in the grip met her palm, she received several readout from the gun, including the integrated scope which was essentially a camera on the gun that gave a view slightly better than just iron sights. She used the scope to take a few better aimed shots at the tower, and confirmed it to be a total of 4 owls. Although, as soon as they saw the red of her camera they naturally opened fire. A few shots deflected of the rifle and her arm's plating, but a few managed to strike. Soon a repair would be in order to fix the ruptured hydraulic fluid tank in her elbow, it wasn't urgent however, it could last about 13 minutes of extended use. However, it still caused a bit of trouble to aim, although not much of a problem though with an automatic weapon of this type.

Thomas had landed roughly and blacked out for 2 minutes. When he came to, a warning light was flashing, telling him that the door had failed to open. He aimed a kick at the manual latch. The door flew through the air and landed 10 meters away. He jumped out, took stock of the situation, and began firing. "Thomas here," he said into his communicator, "I made it down alive."

Derrick connected himself to Jack's headset. "Jack," he said, watching the quickly-increasing firefight and monitoring the signs of the gunship. It had been joined by two others. Larger ones. "It might be a good time to use the prototype." Derrick hit a few switches and the weapon activated, and began spooling up a splicing shot.
"Got it," Jack replied, amid rifle fire. At the same time, Derrick began aiming the ship's Orbital Railgun. Just in case.

Markus stumbled out of sickbay, having finally gotten over the flu*. Noticing the lack of infantry in the common rooms, he headed out to the bridge to see what was happening.

Jack fired at the gunship, the beam shoots toward the gunship and it exploded and crashed.
"Where's Shane, Derrick?!"
He leaned out of cover only to duck back again when a machine gun shot at him.

Re: Corsair's Reverie
Smoke ducked behind her pod as a spray of owlish gunfire dotted a trail between it and the other nearest pod. She brought up a map of the surrounding terrain, small symbols indicating her team's position dotted the projection.
"Sonny, fall back to this group of rocks, take out those MG emplacements, open patrols are your secondary." She shouted into her helmet mic.
In a brief lull in the gunfire, Smoke slung her rifle past the edge of the pod and linked her eye to the rifle's sight. There was a flash of light in the dark and switched to thermal and aimed at a patch of white. She fired, the rounds struck just below where she was aiming, a metal blockade the owl was using for cover. Another spray of red hot metal forced her to withdraw back behind the pod.
"We need that sniper cover, Lightspeed."
As she spoke the last syllable, the telltale crack of supressed hypersonic rifle fire echoed through the landscape. One of the owls in the watchtower let out a squack and fell onto its gun.
"Good. I need my anti-armors focusing on the other two gunships."
She opened a channel with the Reverie. "Derrick, make sure the mech and tank pilots are ready, we'll have the AA guns out, I estimate, in thirty minutes. Get Korriam out of bed, we'll need as many good mech pilots as we can get." She closed the channel.

The gunships had Jake stunned for a moment.
"Those are just... beautiful!" he said, taking out his rocket launcher.
He took aim and fired.
The rocket got shot down by missile defense systems.
"Well damn."

shane saw the two gunships overhead, and saw Jakes rocket get taken out by it's missiles. shane pulled out his pistol and took a few shots at the cockpit in the vain hope that the glass wasnt bullet proof. of course, no such luck. he did have his c4 with him though, and he was directly underneath the gunship. there was no way he could throw it up though.he ran a little ways back to the pods.
"Thomas! How good is your throwing arm?" Shane tossed the c4 to Thomas.

Re: Corsair's Reverie
Hearing the question and catching the explosives at the same time, Thomas said, "Pretty good. Do you want me to do what I think you want me to do?" "Yep," came Shane's reply. Thomas threw the C4 up. It barely stuck to the bottom of the gunship. "Detonate it now!" He yelled.

Re: Corsair's Reverie
Jake stared amazed at the fireball.
"Great job, Shane!" he shouted. "Best 'splosion I've seen in months!"
Then he turned his attention to the other gunship.
Regular grenades wouldn't be effective against it, and rockets got shot down.
But he didn't actually have to destroy it, it would be enough to make it land. And a friendly gunship could just be a good idea.
He loaded one of the grenade launchers with a flash grenade, and aimed at the cockpit.
He fired the grenade and shaded the display, hoping for the flash to blind the pilot and make him land the ship. Or at least crashland it.

Jake's grenade didn't even faze the pilot, in fact he starting shooting in Jake general direction.
Jack fired at the last gunship hitting its left engine.
"Take cover!"
The gunship crashed into the complex leaving a hole.
"Come on that's are way in!" He said as he ran toward the hole shooting.

Re: Corsair's Reverie
Smoke watched the second gunship's belly explode upward into the fuselage, then dump its content into the ground. The rotors jammed and its structure folded in on itself, disappearing in a ball of plasma. The light from the explosion overloaded the low-light vision in her eye and she turned away as the wreckage crashed fifty meters away. The last gunship aimed its spotlight in the direction of Saxon's empty pod and fired. Streaks of white hot metal pelted the heat shield, one found its way through the pod and struck Aleece. A small object bounced off of the boat's cockpit and it began firing in another direction, then it veered back and to the side as one of its engines exploded. It attempted to right itself and crashed into one of the AA emplacements a few hundred meters away.
"Aleece, you okay? Aleece?" Johanna sprinted to Saxon's pod, which was luckily the closest. She kneeled beside the broken battle droid, examining the damage. "Where's our mechanic?"
"Marcus is the only one we got." Said one of the the soldiers.
"Shit!" Smoke dragged Aleece's corpse to the front of the pod and hefted the machine up into the cavity, then ran back to another pod, closer to the nearest AA facility. "Sonny, make sure our path to the gun is clear. Support, lay down some suppressing fire. The rest of you, there's adequate cover from the DZ to the facility. When you're there, cover the support. Go! Now!"
